Week Ahead – Monday, February 26th through Sunday, March 4th

  • Posted on February 25, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone. Here we are, at the end of another month. Europe has been in winter mode this week..still. Let’s hope Spring starts to show itself soon. Today we are under the influence of a Cancer Moon, so we may feel like being homebodies or spending time with those we feel close to. It’s also a good day for sharing our insights with others with Mercury and Neptune in a conjunction. What we do need to watch out for is an argumentative energy coming from a square between Venus and Mars. Be clear in your communications where relationships are concerned. The start of the workweek looks like it will flow smoothly, so let’s see what this week has in store for us.

Monday is a quiet day in the skies as we start off, but the Moon will be going Void of Course Monday evening. Here is a basic rule to keep in mind when dealing with anything big during a Void of Course Moon: If you are trying to make something happen and want it to be a success, avoid the Void! There are some benefits we gain during these Void times. For example, its the best time for taking a break, kicking back and relaxing and pretty much doing anything that doesn’t really need too much of our attention or energy.

Tuesday morning sees the Moon moving into heart opening Leo, where we feel more energetic and optimistic. We feel like we can do anything! We crave compliments and appreciation and are generous with kind words to others. This Moon brings a cheery vibe, making it easier to be lifted out of the doldrums. Its a good time for presentations, celebrations and social events. You might want to leave the day open, and let your spontaneous mischievous child inside lead the way. We also have a sextile between Venus and Pluto going on, a subtly powerful and uplifting time for romantic/sexual relationships because our sense of attraction is very strong. The focus is on those close, one to one relationships which means these can benefit from moving to a deeper level. This can also be a time for financial profit as opportunities with institutions such as banks, the tax man, insurance, or anything that deals with collective funds open up for us.

Wednesday brings us some busy Mercury energy. We have a square between the communication planet and Mars to start. This transit is characterized by hot debates, fiery speech and lots of arguments. We may experience this in forms of conflict or we may find these exchanges as challenging yet stimulating. We just need to remember to pace all of that mental energy. One of the things we need to watch out for here is that we may have a really short fuse, as will others around us. We can get through this one by keeping a tight rein on our judgement and objectivity when having verbal duels. We can tap into this energy and use it to fan the flames of motivation or take our ideas and use them to generate some positive and constructive action. Mercury will also be sextile to Pluto, giving us a bit more insight and psychological understanding than usual. However, it also brings passion to our communication, which is now being fuelled by the Mercury/Mars transit. So we do need to be careful that our words don’t come out with more force than intended, especially in situations that require a bit of delicacy.

Thursday is the first day of a new month, and it kicks off under the influence of a practical Virgo Moon. When the Moon is in Virgo we instinctually gravitate towards practical activities. In an urge to set things right, we might easily find ourselves re-organizing and rethinking plans. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. This makes it a good time for doing routine work that requires precision, concentration on detail and hard work. Health matters might come into focus. Under a Virgo Moon, we can become more sensitive and vulnerable, especially in areas of the body like the intestines and lower abdomen. Its recommended that we go easy on our stomach with a balanced diet. We also have an upbeat trine between Venus and Jupiter, which can draw those to us who appreciate who we are and are willing to lend support. We may also feel as if we are finally getting some sort of break in life for the better.

Friday starts with a Mercury/Jupiter trine, where we may find ourselves more talkative, filled with more ideas and wanting to share these with others. It’s a really good time for stepping back in order to get a broader overview of projects we are working on, especially business-related ones. With all of these ideas flooding through it may be a good idea to write things down now so that we can develop them later. But right now we want to play with these ideas, turn them and twist them around…not manifest them just yet in the real world.  If you are prone to pessimism, this transit’s optimistic energy can neutralize that for a bit. Just before midnight, the Moon will go Void of Course.

WEEKEND

Saturday morning begins with a balancing Libra Moon, which creates this feeling of harmony and calm. We find we more easily connect to people, compromise is more likely and conflict less so. It’s a time when we find it easier to understand and relate to others. We tend to be polite and diplomatic, and would rather avoid arguments. Its a good day for pampering ourselves and those we feel close to.

Sunday is a busy one, starting off with a conjunction between the Sun and Neptune. With the Sun conjunct Neptune, it can be a time of heightened creative ability that draws us to that the unusual, unfamiliar, and little used resources of inspiration and channelling those into our self-expression. It’s not necessarily creative in an artistic sense but it will definitely involve taking a more inspired approach to challenges and problems before us. This transit’s energy will only be around for a few days so use it while you can, make the most of it and make sure that you are careful to make a reality check before you jump straight into any magical opportunities that your way. We have both Venus and Mercury in a conjunction with Chiron. We need to remember that words can wound as well as heal right now, so choose them wisely. Its also a time when unresolved issues and old wounds in both relationships and finances come to the surface, bringing the potential for healing and a fresh start.

Last we have a conjunction between Mercury and Venus, a transit that is marked by receptive awareness, positive social connections, and diplomatic communication. That means having to negotiate any contracts, agreements, or mutual plans will go a lot more smoothly because all parties are focused on mutual balance to achieve an outcome that benefits all. Its a good day for enjoying things of beauty and pleasure now, as we prefer to reflect on the beauty that is in our world and all around us. The areas of music, art, drama…anything that provides us with a pleasant diversion will draw our attention. Try to steer clear of any harsh energies if you can.

Week Ahead – Monday, February 19th through Sunday, February 25th

  • Posted on February 18, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We are in the third quarter of February, many hoping for spring to hurry up already. Today has a sleepy vibe to it because of the Sun making its move into Pisces. But we also have the Moon moving into Aries, which wants us to get up and get active. So a combo of the two is in order for today. Let’s see what this week has in store for us.

Monday brings us a trine between the Mars and the North Lunar Node. Mars’ interaction with the North Node is the most dynamic. It gives us the courage we need to follow through on our new ideas, as well as helping us to strike out on our own. Our actions and timing tend to feel in sync with socially accepted norms. The only thing to be careful about is that we tend to take risks under this transit.

Tuesday sees the Moon going Void of Course just before Noon, where it will remain until the early evening when it then moves into Earthy Taurus. When the Moon moves into Taurus, we feel the tension of the past few days start to drop away. People tend to become calmer and peaceful. We feel secure and stable. There is also this tendency for our thoughts and reactions to slow down, making us feel a bit slow in getting ourselves going. This is the best time for taking care of the home, running errands, restocking supplies and tending to routine maintenance. Its best to hold off on important business now, as well as the signing of contracts or important papers, because we may make mistakes due to a slowed down reaction and thinking process.

Wednesday brings us a conjunction between Venus and Neptune, which can bring a time of romance and dreamy desire, or self-serving negotiation and deceptive manipulation. The upside of this transit is that it can inspire a lot of creativity and healing faith in abundance and love. We are more open to lofty possibilities of our ability to draw to us what and who we desire in relationships. The problem here is that we need to have a realistic approach to the views and actions necessary to fully realize our potential. So assessing these areas won’t come easily right now.

During this time, if you find yourself considering any major changes that involve tapping into resources, income, and investments, it would be a good idea to do a reality check with someone who you trust. We also have a sextile between Mercury and Saturn, a supportive transit that can help us to bring mental and disciplinary influences together to create a balanced atmosphere for working together.

Thursday is a quiet one, aside from a Void of Course Noon occurring just before noon. The Moon moves into Gemini just after midnight and into Thursday morning. The Moon is the instinctual side of life, so when there’s a lunar Gemini mood, the trickster is afoot. Humour becomes a way of defusing super serious situations. This can also be a period of emotional change: feeling two ways at once without getting too deep into either polarity is possible. Habits are in a cycle of change; variety satisfies a deep inner need. Being on the go and keeping a finger to the winds of change make you feel in touch.

WEEKEND

Saturday brings a more relaxed energy our way, with the Moon going Void of Course in the early evening. As we move into Sunday we will feel the restlessness of the Gemini Moon gives way to an instinctive need for peace and quiet today as the Moon moves into Cancer. Under Cancer’s influence, people become more sensitive and go deeper into their inner world, which takes on more importance at this time than the outer world. A feeling of belonging and safety is what motivates us under this influence. The Moon feels right at home in the sign of Cancer, as it rules the sign. This Moon position has much healing potential. Although insular by nature, our feelings run deep, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us. We want roots; we crave a sense of intimate connection that will.

Sunday is a busy day in the skies. We have a square between Venus and Mars, which makes our diplomatic and receptive side a bit argumentative with our more decisive and assertive side. We may feel a battle of wills between our yin and yang sides here, or we could find a way to harness both of these energies creatively.
Social blunders are a possibility now and we need to be wary of making impulse purchases. Those who are prone to drama and attention seeking could very well stir up problems in order to fulfil a need for excitement. Then there is a conjunction between Mercury and Neptune, which can stimulate our creativity. Our imaginations can really soar here as insights become more magical and richer.

For those who are more sensitive to this transits energies, a need for finding quiet time to meditate or just be alone with our thoughts could be strong. Lastly, we have a sextile between the Sun and Saturn, where we feel more able to effectively take care of loose ends and attend to small details, especially the ones we dislike. Focusing on practical matters and getting organized are good things to focus on now, especially if you are laying the foundation for something positive to grow.

Week Ahead – Monday, February 12th through Sunday, February 18th

  • Posted on February 11, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We are nearing the halfway point of this month, Valentines Day is a couple of days away, as is the Chinese New Year. The 16th ushers in the year of the Earth Dog. Chinese New Year is a time to welcome longevity, wealth and prosperity and to eliminate any negative chi from the past. This fourteen-day celebration is very symbolic, and has many important do’s and don’ts.

Year of the Earth Dog years are believed to be the most unlucky for people born in previous years of the Dog. In general, people with Chinese zodiac Dog sign will have a year full of challenges. It’s not all unlucky for everyone though, as the Dog is a symbol of luck in general. Today we have the energies of a Capricorn Moon in play, making it a good day for focusing on responsibilities and tangible projects. It’s a relaxing energy though so we can relax as we take on these tasks. Now, let’s see what this week has in store for us.

Monday continues with the Capricorn Moon energy, so we can still get those responsibilities and projects done today. Otherwise, its a fairly quiet day in the skies. Tuesday starts with an early morning Void of Course Moon that will move into Aquarius in the mid-afternoon. This is a friendly energy that can help us to work on the friendship side of our relationships. We also have a square between Mercury and Jupiter today, a transit that can bring us information overload, making it all too easy to miss or neglect important details. What we need to be careful of is that “pie in the sky” thinking, or having ideas and making plans that are a bit too grandiose. However, this can be a good opportunity to learn something about how we jump to conclusions or place blame, especially if a situation triggers something that challenges our beliefs. Lastly, we have a sextile between the Sun and Uranus, a fun little transit that allows us to be a bit more open to being spontaneous.

Wednesday is Valentines Day, but a quiet one in the skies. We do still have the Aquarius Moon energy focusing on building stronger connections and the friendship side of things, but there is also that bit of fantasy romance for those enjoying a night out.

Thursday is our New Moon/Solar Eclipse occurring in Aquarius. Our last Solar Eclipse happened in Leo back in August of last year. Think back to what was going on at that time for you. This eclipse is the exact opposite, allowing us to gain some perspective on our lives between then and now. The New Moon urges us to open to something new, and an eclipse amplifies that energy. We have a sextile between Mercury and Uranus going on, where our thoughts are inventive and original. Mixed with this Solar Eclipse energy, this is a good time for taking those ideas and inventions to the next level. Lastly is a sextile between Venus and Saturn. This is a day for romantic yearnings, fantasies and longings. It makes the perfect time to ask yourself if there is a dream of yours, perhaps one you had to shelve for a while, that you can now take down, blow off the dust, and make it come true.

Friday brings the still New moon into Pisces, a good energy for music, movies and meditation for the weekend. At this time our life can take on a kind of mystical quality at the emotional and instinctive levels. Dreams and illusions, forgiveness, and understanding human frailties: these things arouse deep feelings for us. There is also a tendency for getting overly involved in the problems of others, causing us to temporarily lose ourselves in the process. It’s wise to watch out for those who prey on the goodwill of others at this time.

WEEKEND

Saturday brings us a challenging square between Mars and Neptune, which can produce some active dreaming. For up to a week before and a week after today, we have a chance to discover and work with our blind spots and the hidden motives that tend to trip us up. It may feel like we are spinning our wheels or “shadow-boxing” and we aren’t even sure why right now. We may be fighting a hidden agenda or unconscious motives (either our own or someone else’s). We might also be trying to apply a concrete solution to an ambiguous situation, and then wondering why it isn’t working out very well. Combine this with a conjunction between the Sun and Mercury, and some of us may have some restless sleep or wake up really early. Our mind is busy now and some may choose to take some short trips this weekend to keep themselves, and their minds, busy.

Sunday brings a shift from a dreamy and diffused Pisces Moon into a fired up Aries Moon, bringing physical restlessness on top of the mental restlessness. It’s a day for being active. It’s also an energy fit for gravitating towards emotional beginnings, a fresh start, perhaps the establishment of new habit patterns – so make sure they’re good ones because they’ll set the tone for you for quite some time to come! We have Mercury moving into Pisces as well this morning. When Mercury is in Pisces, our thinking processes become visual, intuitive, and imaginative. Our brainy Mercury is less interested in the facts and more in touch with feelings at this time. We are more attuned to the world of emotion, and it colours both our thoughts and our communication style. This transit serves poets, artists, healers, spiritual seekers and all those who don’t rely on objective evidence to shape reality. We also have the Sun joining Mercury in Pisces, so Happy Solar return to all of you Pisces natives!

Week Ahead – Monday, February 5th through Sunday, February 11th

  • Posted on February 4, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you had a good week and your weekend has been relaxing. We have a Libra Moon with us today, which is great for social sharing. Its a day for pampering ourselves and others, so put it to good use. Let’s have a look at what the coming week has in store for us.

Monday brings us a harmonious sextile between Venus and Uranus, an unpredictable transit that can have us feeling excited about the social aspect of our lives. Enjoyment can pop up when we least expect it now. Keep in mind that the Moon will be Void of Course in the early evening, so sharing on a deeper level can be light and friendly now. This is also a good time for standing apart from the crowd if you want to attract the types of people you wish to be around. Highlight your unique qualities and let them shine now. Oh, and do be careful that you don’t allow boredom to push you towards doing anything too reckless.

Tuesday starts off with the Moon moving into broody Scorpio, where emotional charge and sensitivity increases. It’s a time where we need to be careful not to get swept away by irritability, mood-swings, hysteria, big and small excitements, and a sudden desire to quickly change everything. People tend to become more conscious of self and others and see everything in dark tones with the Moon in Scorpio.

Wednesday is a quiet one for us that is supportive of sharing on a deeper level the things we may feel most vulnerable about. Thursday kicks off energy that is good for parties. We have the Moon moving into upbeat Sagittarius, which also gravitates towards enjoying the outdoors and philosophical discussions. We tend to become a bit more orderly and calm, are ready to follow routines and rules and have a need for giving and receiving advice and recommendations. We may find an increase in our interests in social life and where we fit in. It does, however, put us in a risk-taking mood. A need to be in motion makes us very restless if we get bogged down with mundane chores. It’s a good time for speaking our truth, saying it like it is, but we also need to be careful that our words don’t come out with blunt force. The best way to enjoy and us this lunar energy is to keep it light and upbeat. We also have an opposition happening between Mercury and the North Lunar Node, which can have us dwelling on the past in ways that tend to block us from finding our true future path in life. So we need to find that balance between past and future and let go of what is holding us back from our future destiny while keeping what is helping us.

Friday brings us a Sun/Jupiter square, where we feel a bit more enthusiastic and upbeat, inspired to expand ourselves well beyond our usual boundaries. This can work for some and not work for others, because we run the risk of reaching far beyond our means, even promising more than we can actually give. This can be a challenging time where important lessons could emerge that help to expand the limits of our true beliefs. We also have a conjunction between Mercury and the South Lunar Node, where we are pushed to release old ideas and perceptions that just get in the way of our ability to see things clearly. During this process, we may need to let go, communicate and share our observations of the past six months, or maybe even compare some notes with another about things we have been mulling over for a while.

WEEKEND

Saturday brings relationship planet Venus into dreamy Pisces, where she will be until March 6th. This brings us a romance/fantasy combo, but we need to make sure we are seeing people for who they truly are now, not just how we want to see them. It is a transit where romance and compassion are enhanced in our relationships. It’s a really great energy for those who are artists, writers, musicians, or anyone who deals in the art of imagination.

Sunday morning sees the Moon shifting into Capricorn, where our emotional charge seems to decrease as our feelings of duty and responsibility move to the fore. We tend to become more practical and logical, as well as more demanding and less sensitive to others and ourselves. It’s a good day for setting out plans. This can be a very sober influence–even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the face.

Week Ahead – Monday, January 29th through Sunday, February 4th

  • Posted on January 28, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone. This week ends the first month of 2018 and begins the next month. February will be bringing us a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius that is the exact opposite of where last August’s Solar Eclipse took place. If you have felt somewhat pulled apart since last summer, this could be the Universe trying to give you a fresh perspective on your life. Some choices will come out of this in the months ahead. Today we are under the influence of a Cancer Moon, so many will feel like sticking close to home and enjoying the peace of being around loved ones. Let’s see what the week ahead has in store for us!

Monday begins under the influence of a feeling oriented Cancer Moon, which is associated with family, food, and nutrition. So look to activities along those lines for the next couple of days. We also have an opposition between Venus and the North Lunar Node happening now. This is a good time to let go of the “things” you don’t need anymore. It’s a time to release your creativity and transform them into new resources and assets. This could mean cleaning out your closets and selling the discards in a yard sale, for example. You might decide to change your hairstyle or something else about your appearance. Have some fun with it!

Tuesday begins with a Void of Course Moon that will then shift into heart opening Leo in the later part of the afternoon. Leo is where we feel more energetic and optimistic. We feel like we can do anything! We crave compliments and appreciation and are generous with kind words to others. This is also a flirty Moon, and you get away with it because it’s all for fun. The Leo lunar vibe brings out the cocky bravado in men and the diva in women. You might spend more time with the mane and dress, in anticipation of being seen. It’s a Moon to revel in being admired and taking pride in appearance. We also get some sparky inspiration in the air with a Leo Moon, and we may encourage each other to shine more brightly. Go ahead and hold the stage. Tell a story and make it dramatic. Make some children laugh by being a clown. Tap into your inner thespian, and make all the world your stage!

Wednesday is our Leo Full Moon and it’s a powerful one because it’s also a Lunar Eclipse, Blue Moon, and a Super Moon. We will need to keep an eye on our emotions now because they can be more activated than usual. Now, last August we had another Lunar Eclipse that was nearly opposite to what we have today. Look over the past 6 months to see if you have been feeling pulled apart in many areas of your life. These are the areas where we need to gain some fresh perspective and make choices in order for us to re-integrate ourselves into a better whole. Leo wants us to open our hearts more and express our passions and creativity. It also pushes us to take a leadership role in some aspect of our lives. The Sun is in Aquarius now as well, which wants us to step back and look at the bigger picture. Aquarius likes win-win scenarios and urges us to all play nice together for the greater good. We also have Mercury joining the Sun in Aquarius for the next month, which is an excellent energy for reaching out to meet new people, explore organizations or new groups, and considering how we can bring our ideas and inventions into the real world.

Thursday starts with a mid-morning Void of Course Moon that will move into practical Virgo in the early evening. In this mutable earth sign of Virgo, the mood is geared toward busy productivity and adjusting with minor tweaks here and there. It favours clearing, refining, purging, detoxing and organizing. A Virgo Moon always reminds me of Spring cleaning where we de-clutter, make room, open the windows and let the fresh air flow through. On a more mental level, some may crave mentally stimulating puzzles, games and reading to satisfy the active mind. Conversations can be full of everyday analysis of events and people, sometimes critical or fault-finding. For those who have felt overwhelmed by life, now is a time when you can break down those problems into smaller, individual, and more manageable tasks.

Friday is the Pagan celebration of Imbolc, a time to prepare for growth and renewal. It’s symbolic of fertility and ridding of the old, making way for the new. So use this day to look at what needs to be released to make space for the new. We have that Virgo Moon energy to help us with clearing things out now and it can really be a refreshing time that makes you feel like a new start is ahead.

WEEKEND

Saturday starts off with an early morning Voice of Course Moon that will be with us for the entire day and into the later evening. It then moves into balancing Libra, creating a feeling of harmony and calm. We find we more easily connect to people, compromise is more likely and conflict less so. It’s a time when we find it easier to understand and relate to others. We tend to be polite and diplomatic, and would rather avoid arguments. Creating order is also the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We also have a sextile between Mercury and Mars today, a transit where we have the potential to dig down and find the courage needed to speak our minds and stand up for ourselves and what we feel is right. Thoughtful actions will produce positive results and by planning ahead for possible consequences we can minimize any potential conflicts.

Sunday brings us a challenging square between Venus and Jupiter. When the romance planet Venus squares Jupiter, the planet of luck, we tend to want to take pleasure in doing things in a very big way. We become more generous and may spend money on others to make them happy. But there is a need here to set boundaries or we could end up overspending and overdoing it. By all means, let yourself have some fun! But be wary of depleting your resources or wasting time on superficialities-leaving you hungry for something more substantive.

Week Ahead – Monday, January 22nd through Sunday, January 28th

  • Posted on January 19, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We’re into the last full week of January now and I’m sure many of us are hoping for an early spring. At least we know each day brings us a bit more extra daylight as we slowly make our way out of Winter’s chilly grasp. We have a quiet one in the skies and the start of our week is under the ambitious vibes of an Aries Moon. So, let’s see how this week will play out for us.

Monday starts off with a Void of Course Moon in the wee hours, which will then move into Aries as we rise to start our day. Some may actually feel this shift more than others. An Aries Moon tends to bring conflict more than most times, with emotional tensions growing, people becoming short-tempered and impulsive. Some may show a readiness and fearlessness to act in an extreme situation. Even the sweetest tempered person can become a bit mean under this moon. However, it becomes easier to shake old problem and the weight of tiresome responsibility. We want to free ourselves from everything that bothers us and makes our lives feel uneasy. As we enter this phase of emotional directness and impulsiveness, one marked by forceful and powerful feelings, we tend to gravitate towards emotional beginnings, a fresh start, perhaps the establishment of new habit patterns – so make sure they’re good ones, because they’ll set the tone for you for quite some time to come!

Tuesday is another quiet one, but we can still tap into that Aries energy to get ambitious about any pioneering new projects we have thought about. Wednesday takes the tone down a bit as we begin with a Void of Course Moon that moves into earthy Taurus in the early afternoon. We also have a conjunction between Mercury and Pluto, both aligning in businesslike Capricorn. It’s a good time for communicating with power, making concrete plans of action, and maybe doing a bit of detective work that needs our mental focus. One word of warning is to try to steer clear of anyone who has obsessive-compulsive, or a controlling nature. They tend to think they know what is best for you at this time.

Thursday brings us a sextile between Mercury and Jupiter, which can give us loads of ideas and the words we need to express them to others. Putting all of those facts, ideas, and thoughts into one cohesive stream becomes much easier and we may also find that we understand the big picture, the overall patterns in life’s everyday situations. Our minds flow with the possibilities before us and we have that sense of optimism needed to bring these ideas into the real world if we apply ourselves and make a bit of effort. It may be a good idea to write down your ideas at this time, especially those that can be further developed at a later time. Now is the time for playing with those ideas and having a bit of fun as we do. This is a favorable influence for short trips, writing, teaching, studying, mailings, interviews, advertising and promotion, submitting applications and forms, and accurate observations.

Friday begins with an early morning Void of Course Moon that moves into mercurial Gemini in the later part of the afternoon. Under Gemini’s influence, our basic instinct is to communicate, think, and share ideas. We are motivated by a desire for variety and by an instinctive curiosity. The Moon in Gemini is light-hearted, breezy, and curious, but it can also be restless and fickle. It is a good time, however, to be on the move, traveling short distances in order to fulfill that need for new impressions, and meeting up with friends and relative. We also have Mars moving into Sagittarius, where it will be until March 17th. This is a really fun combo that is supportive of putting actions into our big ideas.

WEEKEND

Saturday is a quiet one, but we do have that Gemini Moon in play, so keep your projects and communications short, simple and sweet. On Sunday the Moon will go Void of Course mid-morning. Mercury will be a bit busy today, with a challenging square with Uranus and a Sextile with Chiron. The Mercury/Uranus square is where we could experience some flashes of insight that can bring fresh clarity our way, however, the answers that we receive may not be what we wanted to hear as it disrupts those logical views of how things were. Its a time where news of information can come along that shakes us up, which isn’t always a bad thing. Especially if its something we needed to hear that can open us up to something we have been resisting. The Mercury/Chiron sextile brings us the opportunity to think and reflect on our pain as well as to talk about it. And sometimes that is all that is needed to get the ball rolling on healing ourselves. By the evening we will feel that shift from Gemini’s restlessness to Cancer’s instinctive need for peace and quiet. Quite often, when the Moon is in Cancer, we all become homebodies. We want to retreat to the place we feel most at home. This can bring out a sense of “homesickness” if we’re far from home, or estranged from others. It may be a time, then of reaching out to those that know us best.

Week Ahead – Monday January 15th through Sunday January 21st

  • Posted on January 14, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We are now moving into the second half of this month. We have 6 out of 10 planets used in astrology in Capricorn at this time, which brings us an opportunity to bring our higher ideals down to manifest in the real world. Today is a day to expect the unexpected because we have eccentric Uranus challenging the Sun, which represents our sense of self-identity. We need to be able to adjust to changes and not make a lot of promises today, and we should be ok. Now, let’s take a look at what this week has ahead for us.

Monday brings us a sextile between the Sun and Chiron, a harmonious transit that allows the Sun to shed its light on those wounds we still have in our life. Wherever Chiron falls in our natal chart will show us where we have been wounded and the key to healing. This transit can help you to find new inspiration, motivation, or the confidence to rejuvenate our waning enthusiasm. While this may be a gentler aspect, we still will have to make the effort to bring it all together. Adding to this is a sextile between Jupiter and Pluto. Jupiter represents our expansive qualities as well as our abilities to improve ourselves. It is a planet of abundance and seeks insight through knowledge. It’s the planet of possibilities and a well-aspected Jupiter is normally associated with good luck. The negative associations with this aspect are blind optimism, overindulgence and excess. In our Natal charts, Jupiter reveals how we express our sense of giving and tolerance and how we go about improving our lives. When Jupiter is sextile Pluto it adds extra energies to what is normally released, which can enhance our intuition and mental faculties.

Tuesday is a quiet one in the skies for us but Wednesday is our Aquarius New Moon, which starts with a brief Void of Course. A New Moon is that it is all about new beginnings that come from a deeper and more spiritual level of our being. It’s a good idea to take time and see where your philosophies don’t measure up to your day to day life.  The Moon in Aquarius brings a sense of emotional coolness or detachment at the personal level, combined with an emphasis on idealism: such is the nature of the cycle you are now entering. It’s ideas that count for you now, more than narrowly personal concerns – and you may have little tolerance for people who do not operate at this level. The new, the unusual, the avant-garde – these are the things that instinctively appeal to you.  Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius.

Thursday brings a trine between Mars and Chiron, where we may find ourselves being more assertive in our own healing processes. It will be a bit easier now to move past any inhibition that stops you from being assertive, expressing anger or frustration, or in putting things into action. Reconciling inner fears, guilt, or regrets that held you back can now be released more easily. Or we may find we have finally reached that point of acceptance that now will allow us to move beyond a conflict or struggle that has been keeping us stuck.

Friday brings a Void of Course Moon just before Noon, which then moves into mystical Pisces in the later part of the evening. A Pisces Moon can bring about feelings of romance, heightened intuition, mystical and dreamy moods, and an interest in the unknown, religion and all that is magical. We tend to become softer, sentimental and more tender, speaking words of kindness and complimenting those we love. We also tend to have this deeper understanding of the hidden meaning of life, events and things, as well as a more intimate perception of beauty, art, poetry and music. We also have a sextile between Mercury and Neptune, where our intuition runs high. We may feel more sensitive artistically, our imagination is stirred, and we have an increased appreciation for subtleties. We feel inspired and feel able to inspire others as well. It’s a very creative, where our ideas seem to flow magically and it makes a great time for literary and artistic projects. Mainly, this is a good time for creativity, optimism, intuition and hope. We just need to make sure that we stay grounded.

WEEKEND

The weekend is fairly uneventful in the skies, but we are still under the influence of the Pisces Moon, which is supportive of romance, movies, meditation and paying attention to your dreams.

Week Ahead – Monday January 8th through Sunday January 14th

  • Posted on January 7, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all had a good New Year celebration. Here we are in the second week of January 2018. It will be a busy start to the week as well. Today we have those balancing Libra Moon energies that make us want to pamper ourselves a bit. It’s a good day for connecting with others and brings a sense of calm. So enjoy the day before we get into the week ahead. Let’s see what’s in store for us.

Monday brings us a mix of energies, starting with a sextile between the Sun and Jupiter. Under this transit, our ideas and plans become infused with clarity and optimism. We can better understand the “Big Picture” and what our place is in the big grand scheme of it all. This can result in our self-esteem and confidence getting a boost. For some, this can give a feeling of being “lucky”. It truly is a feel-good energy that we get from this mingling between the Sun and Jupiter. Some may feel a bit restless under this brief transit but finding activities to satisfy our wandering minds shouldn’t be too hard. We have a sextile between Venus and Jupiter as well, where we seem to get an abundance of creative inspiration. It’s another lucky combo that can attract opportunities in love, money and resources. Last up is a sextile between Mars and Pluto, where we tend to experience a period of intense focus and determined action. Our physical energy levels are heightened at this time and we may discover that we can work very hard for long periods of time. This means that we really need to pay attention to our body during this time; remember to eat and rest when you need to and avoid burning out.

Tuesday is super busy in the skies, starting us off with a Sun/Venus conjunction, where we want to be seen and get noticed, mainly for our natural qualities. This desire to be social opens up doors of opportunity for us to reach out and connect with others today, as well as allows us to express ourselves with ease, charm, and grace. Whether you find yourself spending time with others or on your own, pursuing the things you love and enjoy comes easily now. We also have the Sun and Venus in a conjunction with Pluto today. This can be a transformative energy and good for business. We will find we need to release what is no longer working for us now though. We also gain a sense of determination that is formidable and we just won’t put up with any interference from others. Next up is a Venus/Mars sextile, a transit that brings an opportune time to take a more balanced approach to any conflicts, problems, and goals that require a lot of effort. Later in the day, the Moon will go Void of Course before moving into deep Scorpio in the evening, where our emotional charge and sensitivity increases. It’s a time where we need to be careful not to get swept away by irritability, mood-swings, hysteria, big and small excitements, and a sudden desire to quickly change everything. People tend to become more conscious of self and others and see everything in dark tones with the Moon in Scorpio.

Wednesday brings us a bit of a breather with the Sun and Mars in a nice little sextile that will give us enthusiasm, energy and the power we need to fuel our ambitions. However, things won’t just fall into our laps here. We will have to reach for what we want. We can look at our past experiences now and use this to help us reach ahead towards our dreams and visions.

Thursday sees Mercury moving into Capricorn, where it will be for the rest of this month. This energy is supportive of structured thinking because it brings out our focused and analytical side. our communication will be more down to earth and more focused on practical matters. With Mercury, the focus is on knowledge, communications of all kinds, and travel. So, when the Messenger planet mixes with Capricorn, these areas will be on solid footing. It’s a good time for making those New Years resolutions because we have a better chance of seeing them through as we build solid plans for 2018.

Friday morning the Moon will move into upbeat Sagittarius, which makes us want to have some fun as we plan for the weekend. But we also have that practical Capricorn energy in play that wants to be practical. The Sagittarius lunar mood is very adventurous, active and restless for exploration. We want to experience life first hand. we want to get outdoors, see the sights, connect with nature, go places we haven’t been before.

WEEKEND

Saturday brings a mixed bag of energies our way. We have a conjunction between Mercury and Saturn, making it a good time for taking a serious look at the circumstances and situations in our lives. It’s not a very upbeat energy but it’s a great energy to tap into when you need to take an objective, detached, clear view of life.  Then we have a challenging square between Venus and Uranus. Under this transit, we need to be careful of temptations like impulse buying and being a bit erratic with our resources. For those who have been experiencing difficulties with funds and/or relationships, this transit can bring a lingering issue up to the surface now and will require our attention rather than trying to push it back down and ignore it. Last we have a sextile between Venus and Chiron. This is a short but friendly little aspect which can give us the opportunity to harmonize difficult relationships and make some progress in our efforts to heal and rebalance.

Sunday starts us off with a Void of Course Moon that will move into Capricorn in the evening. In Capricorn, our emotional charge seems to decrease as our feelings of duty and responsibility move to the fore. We tend to become more practical and logical, as well as more demanding and less sensitive to others and ourselves. So we will definitely feel like winding down at the end of our day. We also have a square between the Sun and Uranus, where our world can experience some shake-up’s as the Universe decides its time for change and time to make things a bit more “interesting.” This is our wake-up call folks and it is designed to loosen us up from old habits and cycles that keep us stuck or inhibited in life. So if you are looking to break some old habits in your life or break away from current restrictions, this is the best time to do it! Just bear in mind that it could also create a bit of a mess that you will have to contend with later.

What’s New This Month

Here we are once more at the cusp of another year gone by and a new one beginning.  The coming year looks to be one that we will remember because we will all experience a shift in our beliefs, attitudes and the very structure of our lives in transition. The start of January sees ambitious Mars pushing hard to bring the expansive ideas of Jupiter into reality. The later half of January through February has a couple of eclipses that will give us perspective on our lives since we had eclipses that occurred in the opposite signs last August. So, be prepared to be pulled apart to be re-integrated in a new and innovative way!

As we come to the close of the old year I always make a point of looking back at where I was this time last year. And I am always amazed at just how much I have done and learned.

As we start moving into the colder and darker days of winter, many of us start to feel a bit down, tired, or overwhelmed. Darker days can often create a feeling of melancholy. That is why its so important to do things that bring warmth to your environment and your spirit. Pampering yourself in little ways, focusing on crafts or projects in the house you may not have had time for, or taking stock of what you have done and what you wish to do in the coming year; all of these are ways to perk things up a bit.

The New Year is always a good time for looking ahead, making changes, and letting go of the old from last year. And it’s a great time to have a New Year Outlook Reading to help get a glimpse of what is ahead for you this year. You can find my special New Year’s readings in the  Monthly Specials  section this month, along with a few other inspirational readings to help bring balance into your life, such as the Spiritual Journey and the Fool’s Journey readings for those who are looking to start off in a new direction. So be sure to stop by and have a look at the September specials! You can have a browse through the many specialized readings I offer on the  Tarot Readings page.  Tarot’s Life Path & Personal Growth section is a good place to start!  Or take a wander through the various Oracle readings on my site, like Rune, Angel, Faery and Animal Totem readings.  All of these categories can be found on the main Reading Room page.  Don’t forget to check out the other areas on the Readings page, like the Oracles, Rune and Animal Medicine Cards sections.

If you have a website or blog that you need some creative content writing for, I offer my services as a freelance writer.  You can check out my basic prices at Faery Scribe.  I’ve written for several sites, such as Natural News, Jules of the Earth, Hirewriters and a number of private clients.

In the Reiki/Energy Work section you can find reiki and energy work to help give you a bit of a boost. You can find Reiki sessions, Chakra Healing and Attunements, Violet Flame healing, and the Avalon Crown of Success healing. Reiki is great for flushing out the old energies that may be lingering both in our own energetic bodies and the environment around us.
