Week Ahead – Monday, October 8th through Sunday, October 14th

Happy Sunday everyone! Today we are under the influence of a practical Virgo Moon, so we will feel more inclined to do mundane tasks around the home, or tend to our spiritual, inner needs later in the day when the Moon goes Void of Course. Let’s have a look at what the week ahead has in store for us.
In the wee hours of Monday morning, the Moon moves into Libra, which creates a feeling of calm and harmony for us now. It’s easier to connect with people under a Libra Moon and we are more likely to be willing to make compromises. Creating order is also the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. Things we like to do under a Libra Moon include mediating, negotiating a fair deal, restoring balance with a friend or family member, taking it easy, beautifying your home space, meditating, decorating, de-cluttering, throwing a dinner party, attending a lecture, visiting a museum, writing or editing, experimenting with fashion, indulging in luxury.
Tuesday morning we have a Void of Course Moon, as well as a New Moon which will be in Libra. We have a few things going on with this New Moon with Venus in her retrograde cycle and a “let go, let god” vibe coming from Pluto. Libra wants us to live our lives in balance and is normally a very social moon, but with Venus in Scorpio right now, along with Pluto’s death and rebirth energies, we get this added dose of deep private emotions over the next few days. So this New Moon is about allowing ourselves to be vulnerable with those who are in our inner circle and keeping healthy boundaries with those who think they know better what you should do than you do yourself. While all of this is going on, we have the wounded healer Chiron taking a temporary step backward into Pisces, where it has been since 2011. So this makes a good time for forgiveness and compassion, as well as letting ourselves open up to a higher vision that emanates from our spiritual center.
Early Wednesday morning the Moon moves into brooding Scorpio. This is a time where we need to be careful not to get swept away by irritability, mood-swings, hysteria, big and small excitements, and a sudden desire to quickly change everything. People tend to become more conscious of self and others and see everything in dark tones with the Moon in Scorpio. It can be a time for healing as we destroy the roots of a disturbance in our life. We also have Mercury joining the Moon in Scorpio today and under this sign, we can find superficial conversations downright annoying. We are more drawn to deep focused research. Mercury makes an opposition to Uranus today, so we will also need to be flexible because Uranus can throw curve balls and surprises our way. Lastly, we have a challenging square between Venus and Mars, which makes it not such a good time for having those difficult relationship conversations.
On Thursday we have Mercury making a challenging square to the Lunar North Node. This is a transit where we can feel compelled to do a 360 about where we have been headed on our life’s path. It’s a good idea to keep a low profile today and not decide to just up and abandon your current life’s path! It’s more a matter of us being challenged to see that path more clearly. In the wee hours of Friday morning, the Moon will go Void of Course and then move into Sagittarius before Noon. Sagittarius brings us a sense of peace and stability and we tend to become a bit more orderly and calm, are ready to follow routines and rules and have a need for giving and receiving advice and recommendations. It’s also a good vibe for social activities and parties. We also have the Sun in a challenging square with Pluto, and this will call upon our inner strength as we find our desires clashing with our current circumstances and the demands of others. It can definitely be a time of challenge, feeling our sense of purpose, direction, and identity blocked in this way and adding to the energy of the Mercury/Lunar Node challenge. Last up is a sextile between Mercury and Saturn, a supportive transit that can help us to bring mental and disciplinary influences together to create a balanced atmosphere for working together. Our focus is on bettering situations around us so it makes a good time for taking stock of what needs to be corrected or adjusted in our lives.
Saturday is a quiet one in the skies for us, which is good after the mix of energies we have had over the past couple of days. We are still under the effects of the optimistic Sagittarius Moon though, so use that to get out and have a bit of fun. In the early hours of Sunday morning, the Moon will go Void of Course and remain that way until the evening, when it shifts into Capricorn, where our emotional charge seems to decrease as our feelings of duty and responsibility move to the fore. This can be a very sober influence–even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the face. Some of the things we are drawn to do under a Capricorn Moon are meeting with clients or collaborators; putting together a proposal; considering investments; acting or speaking with authority; working with a mentor or “mentee”; upholding a long-standing tradition; taking control of a situation.
