Week Ahead – Monday, September 17th through Sunday, September 23rd

Happy Sunday everyone! We are at the midway point of September now, and the equinox is coming up fast. We are already seeing the days getting shorter and the temperatures dropping to more seasonable temperatures. Today we have mixed energies with the optimism of the Sagittarius Moon, which wants us to focus on our physical well being and philosophical pursuits, and some minor conflicting energy between our hearts and heads. So try to do something good for yourselves today. The start of our work week will be taking a more serious turn. Let’s see what’s in store for this week!
Our morning begins with a Void of Course Moon that will be with us until around noon. The Moon then moves into the more serious and structured sign of Capricorn, where our emotional charge seems to decrease as our feelings of duty and responsibility move to the fore. We tend to become more practical and logical, as well as more demanding and less sensitive to others and ourselves. This is a time when we become more resourceful and don’t want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence–even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the face.
Today is when we see our biggest challenge of the week, as Mars and Uranus square off. Squares are challenging due to the fact that the planets involved both want to have their own way and neither are willing to budge or work together. Some really erratic action and unpredictable impulses can surface under this transits energy. We can also be more accident prone under this transit. So take care to not force your way in situations that aren’t ready to move, and give a wide birth to people who are rigid in their stance. try to avoid impatience and anger as well. There is a positive side to this transit, however, and that is that it can push us to take action to free ourselves from what may be restricting us. Wednesday is quiet, aside from an early evening Void of Course Moon.
As we move into the second half of the week things get a bit easier. In the early hours of Thursday morning, the Moon moves into Aquarius. When the Moon is in Aquarius it brings us feelings of openness with a sense of inner freedom. Our emotions become more alive and we feel we can express them more freely. What we can’t cope with are limitations being imposed upon us or pressure from others because our main focus is on our inner feelings of independence. It is a good period for reading, study and scientific pursuits. However, activities which require subordination and discipline, as well as jobs which bore you, will go from bad to worse now. We also have a conjunction between the Sun and Mercury, so its a great day for meeting up with old friends and lots of conversation. However, because of the varied interests we have right now, we may find it hard to rest or find the time to do the things we want to do. Friday is another quiet one in the skies, with an early evening Void of Course Moon.
Saturday is our Autumn Equinox and the afternoon sees the Moon move into mystical Pisces. The energy over these next 3 months will be calling us to bring things together that seem dissimilar. We have a strong air and water element for example, which wants us to be sure our hearts and heads are working in harmony. We also have the Moon and psychic Neptune in dreamy Pisces now, which is great for opening up our intuition. Today is also the day that Mercury enters Libra, where it will remain until the first week of October. Mercury in Libra is supportive of communication in all kinds of relationships, social activities, and diplomatic exchanges. We just need to be careful that we don’t become “people pleasers” as a result. Mercury will be opposite Chiron today as well, and under this challenging transit, it can be hard to read the intention behind the words used to communicate. Doubting our ability to make a clear cut decision can come from a feeling that opposing viewpoints hold the same weight, thus causing us an inability to choose sides. There can be a sense of shooting ourselves in the foot when we present our ideas or opinions, and a feeling of misrepresenting ourselves when we communicate can figure strongly now. The best way to deal with these types of scenarios is to make sure we take the time to think about what it is we wish to communicate beforehand, don’t over think things and stick to what you feel is right in our heart
Sunday sees the Sun move into a new sign, so Happy Solar return to all of you Libra’s out there! Libra symbolizes relationships with others as mirrors of ourselves. Meeting others halfway, compromise, and negotiation come under the rule of Libra. The focus is now on balance-and the Sun is concerned about not rocking the boat and not rubbing others the wrong way. Libra, the scales, represents that perfect balance between day and night that comes with the equinox. It brings an awareness of where we stand within ourselves and with others. So this can greatly affect relationships of all kinds. The Sun and Chiron will be in a brief opposition today, and this can have us feeling a sense of challenge between our sense of personal purpose and those visions of possibilities that go beyond our sense of self. Adding to this is a square between Mercury and Saturn, and a trine between Mercury and Mars. The Mercury/Saturn transit can make us feel like getting from point A to B is a challenge due to delays and obstacles. Doing things that require mental focus may need to be put off until later in the day. The Mercury/Mars transit gives us a boost of enthusiasm for the rest of the day and this means our levels of productivity rises. So you may find it soothing to do any busy work today. Its a good time for hands-on activities.
