Week Ahead – Monday, September 3rd through Sunday, September 9th

Happy Sunday everyone! Here we are at the start of a fresh new month, and we are slowly creeping into Autumn.  September looks like it will be an easier month for us, now that we have gotten past the Eclipse season.  We are under the effects of a Gemini Moon right now, so its a good day for socializing, researching, communicating, or looking into something you feel curious about.  Let’s see what this new week has in store for us.

MONDAY/TUESDAY

Monday kicks off the week with a beneficial sextile between Mercury and Venus that is great for our social connections. It also brings a more open awareness and harmonious level of communication. Venus is all about pleasure, beauty, and sensuality and under this transit we get to appreciate these things a bit more. It’s a good opportunity for getting closer to someone we have an interest in, or that we want to build a stronger foundation with. Tuesday starts off with a Void of Course Moon in the morning that will be with us until after Noon when the Moon moves into Cancer. This Moon makes us want to retreat, to refill the well. But it’s about being enriched by close ties, and the safety of home, too.  It’s not necessarily mellow, but there’s a sense of wanting to be enclosed, private, in familiar environs. We might reach for our favourite foods, or show love by baking or cooking. The trappings of home included aromas that are comforting. It all ends with cosying up in bed, maybe even being tucked in. We may also get lost in an imaginative project. We can add emotional depth and nuance to what we are working on. Whatever we do, it’s with more feeling.

WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY

Wednesday is fairly quiet in the skies, but we do have the effects of the Cancer Moon still in play. So use this day for connecting with those you feel close to or spending quality time with family. The Moon goes briefly Void of Course early Thursday afternoon and then moves into heart opening Leo, where we feel more energetic and optimistic. The Moon in Leo speaks to our “inner child”. It’s a warm, generous, wholeheartedly loving position. It’s a strong time for romance and any creative activity as well. This can be an expansive, creative, and even romantic phase, a time you’ll look back on with pride and fondness. We also have Mercury moving into Virgo and Ceres entering Libra. Mercury feels right at home in Virgo, one of the signs that it rules. Dealing with details is natural and easy now. But we can also become too nit-picky as well. So we need to be careful that we don’t lose perspective if we find ourselves lost in details. We should also be aware of the possibility of expressing ourselves in a too factual manner, so much so that we come across as dry, critical, or unimaginative. Ceres in Libra is a good energy for anyone who works with the public, especially in nurturing roles like healing, therapy, and counselling.

FRIDAY

Friday is busy, starting with an opposition between the Sun and Neptune. This is an idealistic and impracticable transit, where we come face to face with the boundless universe for a few days. This energy can come to you in several ways, for example as creative inspiration, magical encounters with the great mysteries of life, or really vivid dreams. The effect can make us feel as if we are losing sight of our boundaries, creating feelings of depression, confusion and lethargy. So its really important to take time for some reality checks during this time. Get a trusted friend to help you out with this, especially if you are faced with having to make an important decision right now. Mercury is in a trine with both Uranus and Saturn. The Mercury/Uranus transit expands the mind and we may experience unusual ideas, flashes of insight and see unexpected possibilities. Get ready for some “Aha!” moments. This is a great time to do some writing or other forms of self-expression, especially if it’s spontaneous or involving technology. The Mercury/Saturn transit can help us balance out some of that airy, dreamy energy we have going on. While it is an excellent transit for mental work that involves accuracy and precision, these things may be a bit dulled down.

WEEKEND

Saturday

Our weekend kicks off with a brief Void of Course Moon in the early afternoon of Saturday that quickly shifts into Virgo. So our focus will turn towards the practical activities in our lives, as well as health-related themes. We need to be careful now, because it’s the small details that seem to be more important to us now, in some cases more than they are in reality, which can lead to arguments over what seems like insignificant little things. This makes it a good time for doing routine work that requires precision, concentration on detail and hard work. Venus squares off with Mars as well today, making our diplomatic and receptive side a bit argumentative with our more decisive and assertive side.  Social blunders are a possibility now and we need to be wary of making impulse purchases. Those who are prone to drama and attention seeking could very well stir up problems in order to fulfil a need for excitement.

Sunday

Sunday sees love planet Venus move into the steamy waters of Scorpio, a sign that the love planet isn’t very comfy in. Scorpio likes to plunge to the depth of the inner workings of our partnerships and is not interested in the pretty and sweeter side of love. Jealousy and mistrust are downsides of this transit, yet a more honest examination of what we need and what we’re willing to give in exchange adds maturity to personal interactions. So we may be looking at what needs to change, end or begin during Venus’s visit to Scorpio. This is a good transit to take joy in your instinctive nature. The whole point of this transit is to find balance though, so if we can keep this in mind, we can make the best of this transits energy.
