Week Ahead – Monday, July 9th through Sunday, July 15th

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you’ve all been enjoying your weekend so far. For today, we have a trine between the Sun and Neptune, which brings us a gentle combo that is good for spiritual activities, focusing on our dreams, or just having a leisurely day before we get into the coming week, which is going to be a busy one! So. let’s see what we have in store.
Monday starts off with a square between Mercury and Jupiter, which means communication and travel can be a bit challenging. We get information overload with this one, which means we could miss important details. Allow yourself some extra time today for travel and making any decisions. We have a brief Void of Course Moon in the late afternoon and then the Moon moves into Gemini. When the Moon is in Gemini we become active, feel stronger emotional sensitivity and a need for socializing. We also have the tendency to fall under influences that can lead to the danger of getting off course and making mistakes. We tend to buy things that we don’t really need, waste time with contacts that are futile and visit unnecessary places and events. Emotions may become amplified but shallow. We may easily meet new people now, however half of the contacts we make will later turn out to be empty. Some of us will try to do everything all at once, which later leaves us stuck with unfinished projects and ideas. It is a good time, however, to be on the move, travelling short distances in order to fulfil that need for new impressions, and meeting up with friends and relative.
Today, Jupiter ends it’s backwards retrograde cycle that began in early March. So, in the weeks ahead we will be able to put constructive effort into those expansive new projects we’ve been waiting on. Just keep in mind that this forward movement is a slow one and we probably won’t see the traction we need to move these projects forward until about September. Venus moves into Virgo today as well, which isn’t always an easy combo if we have people in our lives that are overly critical. It is a good energy though for working on home/office/sacred area beautification. We can accomplish a great deal during Venus in Virgo. The Moon will go Void of Course in the later part of the evening and remain there until late afternoon on Wednesday.
Today we have a liberating and spontaneous trine between Venus and Uranus, which affects our relationships, resources, finances, and those little pleasures we so enjoy! It’s a good vibe for breaking out of our routines and meeting up with friends. This brings a chance to meet unusual and eccentric people that could broaden our views of the world around us.  One thing we do need to be careful of, however, is that we could spend impulsively beyond our budget, or become reckless in our relationships and social interactions. The Moon moves into Cancer in the early evening, which can make us want to retreat, to refill the well and recharge.
Thursday brings us an opposition between the Sun and Pluto, a bit of a rocky road for the Sun to travel. It’s a transit that can foster mistrust and power struggles. There is an upside to this though. It can awaken our creativity and consciousness which will allow us to tap into this potent and transformational energy. Be aware of manipulative behaviour and global power struggles that could erupt during this time.  Many will feel that their sense of purpose has been rattled, causing them to feel unsettled. Keep in mind that a bit of room is just being cleared in order to make way for new growth and possibilities. This is the time for breaking free of old habits and restrictions. Just remember that it could create a mess that we will have to clean up later on.
In the wee hours of the morning begins our New Moon/Solar Eclipse and this is the first of three eclipses for this summer. The Moon enters its New lunation in Cancer and then quickly goes Void of Course in the wee hours of the morning. It remains VOC until the early evening when it makes its move into Leo.   A Solar Eclipse is said to be extremely powerful New Moons that herald significant and powerful endings and beginnings in our lives. It’s not uncommon for events, that are triggered by an eclipse, to take up to six months to unfold. This is good because it is a process of change like a flower opening up or a butterfly transforming, rather than a lightning bolt of destruction that tears it all down for us!  Pay attention to your emotional needs and self-nurturing now. This New Moon/Eclipse can also bring up issues with family, children, and nutrition. The Moon moves into Leo in the early evening will set a social and fun tone for the weekend.
Saturday brings us a trine between Venus and Saturn, whose characteristics are about stability in both relationships and finances. It’s a good energy to have those serious relationship talks now. We may also find it easier to focus on projects that are creative in nature under this transit. Our self-worth can also benefit from this transits’ energy because we tend to be less inclined in giving in to mood swings. However, if you are prone to bouts of depression, you may want to be cautious about becoming so stable and grounded that you lose touch with your sense of potential and hope. This is a good transit for making concrete progress in matters that involve love, balance, beauty and harmony.
In the wee hours of Sunday morning, the Moon will go Void of Course and remain that way until the early evening, when it moves into Virgo. In this mutable earth sign of Virgo, the mood is geared toward busy productivity and adjusting with minor tweaks here and there. It favours clearing, refining, purging, detoxing and organizing. It also favours launching self-improvement schemes. So the latter part of Sunday may be good for a bit of a de-clutter to make room and let some fresh energy flow in.
