Week Ahead – Monday, March 19th through Sunday, March 25th

Happy Sunday everyone! Looks like we aren’t out of the winter woods yet here in the UK with another snowy weekend. Take heart though! This week brings us the Spring Equinox, so we aren’t too far away from warmer weather. The next 3 months of Spring have an emphasis on the earth and fire elements, which means we can bring our passion and creativity down to manifest in the physical world. We have a lack of air elements, however, and that means it can be all too easy to get stuck in one mindset. So we need to be open to and listen to the ideas of others or we could get stuck in a rut. Today is also our New Moon in Aries, which is the perfect time for setting intentions for the things you wish to create, cultivate, manifest and develop. Its energies differ from the Full Moon in that the New Moon looks inward. It is the void empty space between letting go of the old and waiting for the new, and this can be frightening for some. A Void is meant to be filled though and we need to not fill it with frightened and uncertain energies, but rather fill it with hopes, wishes, and desires. Use this energy wisely! Now, let’s have a look at the week ahead.

Monday is a quiet one in the skies, but we still have access to that Aries New Moon energy. Many of you may feel the need to be active with Aries’ energy, so find ways to burn off any extra energy. Also, it would e a good idea to make your calls and tend to details early this week because Mercury is slowing down and getting ready for its retrograde cycle that begins March 22nd, and will last until April 15th.

Tuesday is the Spring Equinox and the Sun moves into Aries, so Happy Solar return all of you Taurean’s! Under this influence, we are feeling a bit of excitement and an urge for new experiences and adventures. The Moon will be moving into Taurus in the very early hours of the morning, so over the next couple of days, we will start to feel the tension of the past few days starting to drop away. People tend to become calmer and peaceful under a Taurus Moon, and we feel secure and stable. There is also this tendency for our thoughts and reactions to slow down, making us feel a bit slow in getting ourselves going. This is the best time for taking care of the home, running errands, restocking supplies and tending to routine maintenance. Its best to hold off on important business now, as well as the signing of contracts or important papers, because we may make mistakes due to a slowed down reaction and thinking process. Lastly, we have a conjunction between Mercury and Venus going on, and this is a transit that is marked by receptive awareness, positive social connections, and diplomatic communication. Bear in mind that Mercury goes retrograde in a couple of days, so take care of any negotiations with any contracts, agreements, or mutual plans.

Wednesday is another quiet day, but we do have a Void of Course Moon in the late afternoon. In the Void, the Moon is not quite sure how it feels just yet. And since the Moon rules our emotions, we don’t know how we feel either! We may feel a bit lost, run down, out of sorts or confused. The effects can last from a few seconds to a day or two. With energy feeling off balance, it isn’t a good time for making major decisions or doing anything based on emotional decisions because our perceptions are a bit out of whack. So starting something new, making major decisions or purchased, signing contracts and overall planning, asking for favours, selling something like a house, buying something expensive like a home or new car, starting a job search or applying for a job, making announcements of importance, and starting relationships (some believe it is an ill omen to marry during a Void of Course Moon). It isn’t all negative though. There are some benefits we gain during these Void times. For example, its the best time for taking a break, kicking back and relaxing and pretty much doing anything that doesn’t really need too much of our attention or energy.

Thursday morning starts off with the Moon in Gemini, where we become active, feel stronger emotional sensitivity and a need for socializing. We also have the tendency to fall under influences that can lead to the danger of getting off course and making mistakes. It’s also the day that Mercury begins its retrograde cycle. Mercury is retrograde in the sign of Aries. This means we could be in for a lot of quick fluctuations in our perceptions and thoughts. We could find it hard to make any firm decisions as well because every feeling or event triggers a new perspective or thought. Be careful not to make snap decisions now, or assume too quickly that what we think we see is really there in reality. Try to avoid rushing projects. It can be easy to forget the important details when we are rushing.

Friday brings us a challenging square between Venus and Pluto and under this influence we don’t want to force our values on others. This transit does support going to deeper emotional levels where our relationships are concerned though. However, make sure you are doing this in order to understand each other, not in order to change that person. Mainly, this transit can shed light on those problem areas in our lives that need to go through a bit of a transformative process in order to heal.

Saturday brings us an early morning Void of Course Moon before the Moon moves into Cancer in the morning. This energy favours close friends and family connections. Quite often, when the Moon is in Cancer, we all become homebodies. We want to retreat to the place we feel most at home. This can bring out a sense of “homesickness” if we’re far from home, or estranged from others. It may be a time, then of reaching out to those that know us best. We also have a square between the Sun and Mars, which tends to bring out a competitive “me first” mindset, even for those who are not normally like this. This can be a good energy to tap into if you need a bit of courage to stand up for yourself. it allows us to focus on ourselves and our own needs, which is great if you have been focusing so much on others that you have neglected yourself.

Sunday is a quiet one, but still good for connecting with close friends and family, or doing home related, comforting tasks.
