Week Ahead – Monday, April 15th through Sunday, April 21st

Happy Sunday Everyone! Someone tell me what on earth has happened to Spring here in the UK? We’ve gone from normal springtime weather to temperatures in single digits. Kind of glad I haven’t had a chance to transfer my herbs into the garden yet! So, today we have a harmonious transit between the Sun and Jupiter, bringing optimism, social energy, and a boost to take on those large projects that need doing. Let’s have a look at what this new week brings us.
The Moon goes Void of Course in the wee hours of the morning and then shifts into Virgo just before noon. With Virgo, it’s the small details that seem to be more important to us. We just need to be careful of being too “nit-picky” or getting into arguments over little and insignificant things. This is not a good time for making any large, risky or important decisions though, because we tend to not be tapped into our intuition enough to foresee what the consequences of the future will be. if it involves little details, you’re good to go. Since today is Tax Day in the US, its a good one for filling out those income tax reports.
Tuesday brings a challenging square between Venus and Jupiter. When the romance planet Venus squares Jupiter, the planet of luck, we tend to want to take pleasure in doing things in a very big way. The challenge is to fight those urges to overdo, overspend, and overindulge. Have fun with this energy but remember to set yourself some boundaries too.
The Moon will be Void of Course in the early morning hours and then will move into balancing Libra just after noon today. Libra brings us a sense of calm and harmony. It’s a good energy for socializing and connecting with others. You may also find it easier to find common ground in any conflicts. The next couple of days are considered to be power days for speeches and offering your big idea. It’s also the right mood to make amends or compromise. Mercury will be moving into Aries today, and we are finally leaving its retrograde shadow. In Aries, Mercury helps us to push our ideas forward with its “Just do it!” energy. We do need to be careful of coming across as too direct, speaking out of anger, impulse or just pure impatience. There’s a tendency for missing important details now too.
Thursday is a quieter day for us. Friday is our Full Moon in Libra. Reflect back to the spring equinox’s Full Moon, which was at the beginning of Libra/Aries. Now we are at the very ending of these two signs. Libra is about our relationships (including lack of relationships), and Aries is about exerting your independence. This means we will see a continuation of opportunities to re-balance our relationship and individuality needs. The difference with this Full Moon is that we have an abundance of planets in action-oriented signs now. We run the risk of taking on too much so keep it in balance. The Moon will go Void of Course just after Noon and then moves into Scorpio mid-afternoon, which can be an emotionally difficult time for some. Last, we have a conjunction between Mercury and Wounded Healer Chiron. With this transit, we need to remember that words can wound, but they can also heal. Use yours wisely.
The Sun moves into earthy Taurus today, bringing our attention towards material issues, basic needs, and putting our financial houses in order. The Sun brings a gentle warmth when it moves through Taurus, encouraging languorous, almost lazy and carefree, moments of relaxation that remind us of how sweet life can be when we stop for a moment to smell the roses. The Sun is in Taurus also gives us the strength and tenacity to follow through on all those projects that were initiated and probably deserted during that impetuous Aries Sun. Taurus may not be a time for brilliant ideas or innovation, but remember that saying about reaping and sowing! Venus will be moving into her least favourite sign today as well. The goddess of beauty in Aries can help us to pick up the pace if we are willing to explore new opportunities and relationships- especially friendships and organizations in the days ahead. Also, spontaneous attractions and restless relationships are likely with the love planet in impatient Aries and we need to be careful about things like impulse buying or reckless decisions regarding passion. In all, it can be a transit that helps get us out of a rut and is also a great time for appreciating and celebrating our unique individual selves.
Early Sunday morning brings a Void of Course Moon that will last for the whole day. As early evening sets in, the Moom moves into Sagittarius, an optimistic energy where we tend to become a bit more orderly and calm, are ready to follow routines and rules and have a need for giving and receiving advice and recommendations. You may want to get out for an early Sunday evening dinner. With Taurus, we want to experience life first hand. We want to get outdoors, see the sights, connect with nature, go places we haven’t been before. Just take care because it also puts us in a risk-taking mood.
