Week Ahead – Monday, April 1st through Sunday, April 7th

Happy Sunday everyone! This week we usher in a new month. We have Mars moving into Gemini today, which turns Mars’ focus on more mental activities and things that stimulate the mind. We also are under the vibes of an Aquarius Moon, so exploring new things and meeting new people are all supported today. Let’s see what this new week has in store for us!
Monday, April Fool’s Day, begins with an early morning Void of Course Moon, which will stay with us until the early afternoon. It then moves into mystical Pisces. A Pisces Moon can bring about feelings of romance, heightened intuition, mystical and dreamy moods, and an interest in the unknown, religion and all that is magical. Our emotions predominate over common sense, so it is better to do things which require imagination and inspiration, rather than reason and cool logic. Also, our bodies may be more responsive than usual to alcohol, drugs and medicines, so beware of overdoses. On a negative side, it can be harder to deal with the harsher aspects of reality during these lunar days. We may escape with one more drink, or “check out” in front of the television. It’s easy to coast through the day when you’re dreamy or “lost.” It helps to have some creative focus, in order not to flounder in the sign of the Fishes.
Today we have a conjunction between Mercury and Neptune, where we can feel our intuitive creativity being stimulated. It’s a day for daydreaming, visualization, and prophecy. However, communications may be unclear, vague, or downright confused. We could be subject to deception as well. During this time it may be best to avoid signing contracts. For those who are more sensitive to this transits’ energies, a need for finding quiet time to meditate or just be alone with our thoughts could be strong.
Today, warrior planet Mars mingles with Chiron. Swords, scalpels, knives, and words can all be used with pinpoint accuracy and dexterity during this transit. It brings us a chance to take action that can bring about some healing resolutions to long-standing, ongoing problems we have been dealing with. We get a boost of get up and go, extra confidence, and some empowerment that allows us to help others. In the late afternoon, the Moon will go Void of Course until tomorrow morning.
In the early hours of Thursday, the Moon shifts from dreamy and diffused Pisces to fired up Aries. Some may actually feel this shift more than others, finding themselves waking early with a lot of energy. An Aries Moon tends to bring conflict more than most times, with emotional tensions growing, people becoming short-tempered and impulsive. However, it becomes easier to shake old problem and the weight of tiresome responsibility. This Moon favours occupations which demand courage, decisiveness, swiftness and initiative, but anything which requires patience, diligence and diplomacy are likely to decline now. It is a good time for athletics, and for solving problems by ‘brainstorming’. We also have an opposition between Pluto and The North Lunar Node, which is going to be about letting go of obsessive behaviours and focus.
Friday is our Aries New Moon. When we have a New Moon we also have the Sun in the same sign, which is why these energies are so focused and potent. For those who do energy and spell work, the New Moon is the perfect time for setting intentions for the things you wish to create, cultivate, manifest and develop. Its energies differ from the Full Moon in that the New Moon looks inward. It is the void empty space between letting go of the old and waiting for the new, and this can be frightening for some. A Void is meant to be filled though and we need to not fill it with frightened and uncertain energies, but rather fill it with hopes, wishes and desires.
With Aries energy in the New Moon, we are brought fresh winds of courage and inspiration to persevere. It’s a good opportunity to look back and reflect on the recent situations and opportunities in our lives where we can now see more clearly, accept what has passed and move on.
The Moon will be Void of Course in the early morning hours until mid-afternoon. It then shifts into earthy Taurus, where we feel the tension of the past few days start to drop away. People tend to become calmer and peaceful under these energies. We feel secure and stable. There is also this tendency for our thoughts and reactions to slow down, making us feel a bit slow in getting ourselves going. This is the best time for taking care of the home, running errands, restocking supplies and tending to routine maintenance. Its best to hold off on important business now, as well as the signing of contracts or important papers, because we may make mistakes due to a slowed down reaction and thinking process.
Sunday brings a sextile between Mercury and Saturn, which is a supportive transit that can help us to bring mental and disciplinary influences together to create a balanced atmosphere for working together. Our focus is on bettering situations around us so it makes a good time for taking stock of what needs to be corrected or adjusted in our lives. Saturn’s discipline to thinking gives that gentle nudge needed to focus on and work on the small details rather than just looking at the big picture. It’s a good time to focus our energy on completing those difficult tasks we may have been putting aside till now. You may just find that those blocked situations can now be resolved more easily.
