Week Ahead – Monday, December 30th through Sunday, January 5th

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas/Yule. We only have a few more days left for 2019 and 2020 looks like it will be a big year with 3 planets closely aligned in Capricorn. Today is a quiet one for us with some friendly Aquarius Moon energy. We may feel somewhat detached with the rest of the world with no planetary aspects occurring, but that isn’t really a bad thing. Let’s take a look at what these last few days of 2019 have in store for us, and how the new year will start off.

Mid-morning, the Moon will go Void of Course until mid-afternoon. It then moves into mystical Pisces. When the Moon is in Pisces, we swim in imaginative currents that go beyond the normal limits of space and time. It’s a mood when symbols, music and images convey the messages of the soul. This happens through art, dance, film, photography, theatre and play. We have the Sun in an opposition to the North Lunar Node later in the day, which could bring us into contact with someone from our past. We also have a harmonious trine between Mercury and Uranus today, making it a good day for meeting new people and sharing our innovative ideas with others. Tuesday, New Year’s Eve, is another quiet one in the skies for us, but we still have that friendly Pisces energy, which is great for enjoying those New Years Eve celebrations.

The 1st day of 2020 continues the theme of quietness in the skies. In the wee hours of Thursday morning, the Moon will briefly go Void of Course and then slip into fiery Aries, where we can feel a bit restless with a build-up of excess energy. Try to get out and move your body to burn some of that off. We also have a conjunction between Mercury and Jupiter, which is a good time for verbalizing our goals.

Today, Mars moves into Sagittarius where the energy seems to fly. We may feel motivated to learn something new at this time or share our knowledge with others. Many will feel inspired to defend a righteous cause or could lead others to take a stand about something they feel passionate about. Mercury will also be in an opposition with the North Lunar Node, which could have us dwelling in the past.

In the wee hours of Saturday morning, the Moon will go Void of Course until mid-afternoon. It then moves into earthy Taurus, where we can start to feel the tension of the past few days start to drop away. People tend to become calmer and peaceful. We feel secure and stable. There is also this tendency for our thoughts and reactions to slow down, making us feel a bit slow in getting ourselves going. This is the best time for taking care of the home, running errands, restocking supplies and tending to routine maintenance. It’s best to hold off on important business now, as well as the signing of contracts or important papers, because we may make mistakes due to a slowed-down reaction and thinking process.

On Sunday, Mars makes a harmonious trine with Chiron, which can make us feel more assertive with our own healing process, helping us to move past any inhibitions that have been stopping us from expressing anger, frustration, or from taking action. It’s possible you might choose to use this energy in the defence of another person, a cause or something else you feel passionately about. It’s possible to focus your energy, intent, motives and actions in ways that are healing, healthy, balanced and constructive.

Week Ahead – Monday, December 23rd through Sunday, December 29th

Happy Sunday everyone! Yesterday officially kicked off the Yule season with the Winter Solstice. From this point onwards the days will begin to get longer until the Summer Solstice in June. This can be a rough time of year for a lot of people, and one that feels stressful. It’s really important that you take the time you need to recharge and step back from the chaos of the season. Many people start to feel depressed with the short days and long nights, and it’s a time that can ramp up emotions for those who suffer from depression and anxiety. Make sure you check on your loved ones; friends, family, your next-door neighbour, etc. It’s a time where we need to be there for each other and for ourselves.

Today, we have a challenging energy between Venus and Uranus, which isn’t the best time for relationship conversations. We may feel pulled between doing something healthy for our body and wanting to do things that are comforting. Try to find a balance between the two if you can. Now, let’s take a look at what this week has in store for us!

In the early hours of the morning, the Moon will go Void of Course until mid-afternoon, when it then moves into upbeat Sagittarius. This means that Christmas Eve and Day will have a more optimistic feel to it. It’s a good time for getting together with those we call family. We also have a square between the Sun and Chiron today, which can make our patience and confidence feel a bit strained. Its a day for taking a fresh approach to any situations where we feel stuck and need a new perspective.

TUESDAY (Christmas Eve)/WEDNESDAY (Christmas Day)

Christmas Eve has a harmonious trine between the life-giving Sun and Uranus, which can help us feel more spontaneous and lets us go with the flow of things. It’s an energy that can help us get out of a rut and makes us feel more grounded and in touch with our true spirit. Just be careful of Uranus’ reckless side. For Christmas Day, we have the Moon going Void of Course just before noon, where it will remain until later in the evening, the Moon will then move into Capricorn, where we are drawn towards doing productive things, like cleaning up the mess from Christmas morning and Christmas dinner.

Today we have a solar eclipse and a Capricorn New Moon. We have a lot of planets in Capricorn right now, which represents boundaries, restrictions, rules, taxes, structure, and sacrificing the short-term for long-term rewards. For those who do energy and spell work, the New Moon is the perfect time for setting intentions for the things you wish to create, cultivate, manifest and develop. The mood can feel a bit bland after the festivities of the past two days, but this is a good time for getting serious about our priorities and goals. It’s an opportunity to renovate our lives if we are willing to make changes that will last.

For Friday we have a conjunction between the Sun and Jupiter, a transit that fosters optimism, confidence, vision, and leadership. This is a really great day for focusing on new directions that will expand our horizons, especially where self-improvement goals are concerned. It’s also a good day for expressing our physical energy through outdoor activities.

Early Saturday morning, the Moon moves into friendly Aquarius for the weekend. This is a nice, social energy for connecting with people. It’s also a time where we want to break away from limitations and old routines. We are drawn towards improving ourselves and are attracted to the new and unusual. While the vibe is friendly, it is also detached, which can be helpful in allowing us to step back in some situations to see the bigger picture. It’s a good weekend for tapping into group energy.

Sunday is the day that Mercury shifts into a new sign, Capricorn. This brings out Mercury’s analytical and focused side. Our conversations will feel more down to earth and focused on practical matters for the next month. Mercury will also be making a challenging square to Chiron today, which can make our mental focus and perceptions feel a bit strained.

That’s all for this coming week. I hope you all have a safe and happy Yuletide season!

Week Ahead – Monday, December 16th through Sunday, December 22nd

  • Posted on December 15, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! This week takes us into the last half of December and brings us the Winter Solstice. For the past week, we have had Jupiter moving into a harmonious trine with Uranus, which is exact today. This means we can open up to some expansive new ideas and bring them back down to earth for the coming new year. Let’s have a look at what this week has in store for us.

Monday is a quiet one with the Moon going Void of Course in the late evening. The Moon then moves into Virgo Sunday morning. This means it’s time to tend to all of those little details of our lives or work on clearing out any clutter. This energy will be with us for the next couple of days.

Once again, we have a quiet day on Wednesday, but Thursday is a big day. We start off with a Void of Course Moon as we start our morning. The Moon then moves into Libra a couple of hours after, bringing us a sense of calm and harmony. Libra brings a very social energy as well. It would be a good idea to get our work done early today because, as the day goes on, we will find ourselves less willing to take care of responsible things. This is down to a sextile between Mercury and Saturn, and a square between Mercury and Neptune. Our mental side wants us to get a lot accomplished, but our intuitive side wants to daydream and do things that don’t require a lot of thinking.

Today, we have Venus moving into Aquarius, which is a friendly energy that is perfect for sharing over the holidays. This transit can be a good time for trying new things, experimenting, networking with others, and looking a bit more objectively at how we interact and show intimacy with others. A focus on bringing balance into relationships that seem unequal can be a focus as well, especially in situations where it seems one person has an advantage over the other. We tend to focus on building the friendship aspect of our relationships in order to create a firmer foundation for more to grow in the future.

Saturday is our Winter Solstice and we have most of the planets clustered in 1/4 of the zodiac right now. What this means is that we will be focusing our intent on some specific area of our lives or goals for the next 3 months. Just before noon, the Moon will go Void of Course briefly, and then move into brooding Scorpio. This can help us tap into the deepest levels of our being right now. Venus makes a sextile to Chiron today as well, a friendly little transit that can provide opportunities for us to harmonize a difficult relationship.

On Sunday, the Sun moves into Capricorn, so Happy Solar Return to all of you Capricorns! When the Sun is in Capricorn it gives us the opportunity to explore our connection to Mother Earth in a more physical way. We feel more able to manifest our goals and see substantial changes. It’s a time of bringing structure into our lives and setting boundaries that are helpful and nurturing rather than restrictive and binding. Venus makes a challenging square to Uranus in the afternoon, where we need to be careful of temptations like impulse buying and being a bit erratic with our resources. Mars will also be sextile Pluto today, where we can experience a period of intense focus and determined action. Our physical energy levels are heightened at this time and we may discover that we can work very hard for long periods of time. This means that we really need to pay attention to our body during this time; remember to eat and rest when you need to and avoid burning out.

Week Ahead – Monday, December 9th through Sunday, December 15th

  • Posted on December 8, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope the start of this month has been good for you all so far. Today, we are under the influence of the earthy Taurus Moon, which makes it a good day for tackling practical, hands-on tasks. It’s also a good one for taking a break and enjoying life’s little pleasures. We also have a square between the Sun and Neptune, so pay attention to your dreams for the next day or two. Now, let’s see what this coming week has in store for us.

Today, Mercury moves into Sagittarius, where it’s all about refocusing, readjusting, freedom, and independence. It’s a good time for learning something new and for expanding our horizons. We gain a chance to discover some truths, visions, and insights. We just need to remember that there are many views to be seen and no one view is always the right one. The same can go for situations in life. Each person has their own view from where they are standing. It doesn’t mean that just one is right and the rest are wrong. It simply means that each view is right for each individual and their situation.

The Moon will be Void of Course in the early morning hours and will remain that way until the late afternoon. It then moves into Gemini for the next couple of days. Sociability, cheerfulness and quick-wittedness are on the increase, and there is an interest in all kinds of information. The Moon in Gemini favours study, intellectual pursuits, acquaintances, conferences and gatherings. However, heightened changeability and scattering your interests can prevent you from getting definite, tangible results. We also have a trine between Mercury and Chiron today. which can open up the doors for positive healing and communication.

Today is our Full Moon, and it takes place in Gemini, with the Sun in Sagittarius. This Full Moon can have a bit of a contradictory feel to it. Both signs want to party and socialize and can talk to anyone and everyone at any given time. However, we have dreamy Neptune in a challenging position to the Full Moon. and this energy prefers a more sacred, private level or sharing, or wants to hide away. While Gemini and Sagittarius’ enthusiasm and curiosity make them ready for anything, we still have this increased emphasis of planets in the more serious-minded Capricorn, which brings things down to earth. We also have a conjunction between Venus and Saturn today, which blends structure and responsibility with our desire for beauty, pleasure, and material abundance. Some may feel blocked right now in the areas of finances, relationships, and pleasures which means that those areas will need to be reworked before we move forward.

In the early morning hours, the Moon will go Void of Course and remain that way until just before midnight. It then moves into Cancer for the next couple of days, where the restless energy of Gemini gives way to Cancer’s need for peace and quiet. Quite often, when the Moon is in Cancer, we all become homebodies. We want to retreat to the place we feel most at home. This can bring out a sense of “homesickness” if we’re far from home, or estranged from others. It may be a time, than of reaching out to those that know us best. This Moon makes us quick to tear up and have sentimental moments. We might get absorbed in memories of a long lost lover or friend. It heightens emotions, and we might experience mood swings, from dark lows to blissful highs. We are more sensitive to the moods of others as well, allowing us to be more emphatic.

It’s Friday the 13th, and we have a trine between Mars and Neptune that will make the day a bit more interesting. We can go from being a space cadet to a visionary under this transit. We then have Venus and Pluto joining in, which can stir up the emotions. Deep-seated doubts, fears, and emotions that have been bubbling just under the surface could now boil over. Now, this can be a really good combo for business and finances. But only if you are willing to release what is no longer working for you and make efforts in longer-term projects and goals. It’s also a good transit for negotiations and finding balance with others.

Saturday is a quiet one, with the Moon going Void of Course mid-afternoon. It then moves into heart opening Leo in the early hours of Sunday morning, bringing us a more energetic and optimistic vibe. This is a good time decorating the home for the holidays, connecting with your inner child, and bringing some laughter into people’s lives. We have a trine between Jupiter and Uranus later in the day, a transit that many see as a favourable one that brings good fortune our way and opportunities that benefit us.

Week Ahead – Monday, December 2nd through Sunday, December 8th

  • Posted on December 1, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone, and welcome to December! It’s hard to believe the year is nearly over already. Today, we are under the influence of an Aquarius Moon. Regardless of what your sign is, for a couple of days each month we all get drawn into the influence of the Aquarius Moon. It drives us to find our own uniqueness so that we can share it with the world. It’s a social energy, so today is a good one for meeting new people and visiting new places. Aquarius also has a bit of a rebellious streak that craves freedom and distractions from our usual routine. You can use this energy to help break old habits. Now, let’s see what the first week of December has in store for us.

Today, Jupiter moves into Capricorn, where it will remain until December of next year. Capricorn is not Jupiter’s favourite sign to be in. Jupiter is expansive and has an extravagant nature. Under this sign, we may see the negative qualities of Jupiter, which can bring out a miserly and materialistic side. The positive side of Jupiter in this sign seeks a higher perspective and lets us look at the big picture. Wherever Jupiter is currently transiting in your own chart is generally where you are inclined to find your joy at this stage in your development. We also have Mars and Venus mingling with the North Lunar Node at this time. The Mars/North Node interaction will give us the courage we need to follow through on our ideas. The Venus/North Node transit is a different story and a bit of a challenge. This can be a difficult transit where love and finances are concerned. With the love aspect of things, we need to look at where our chronic involvement in relationships is distracting us from our true life path and determine if that is leading us in the opposite direction of where we should be going. On the financial side of things, we need to look at situations that are blocking our way forward or keeping us stuck in place.

As we begin our morning, the Moon will move into that mystical sign of Pisces. We tend to want to help people more and our empathy and intuition increase during this time. We do need to be careful though, because there is a tendency for getting overly involved in the problems of others, causing us to temporarily lose ourselves in the process. It’s wise to watch out for those who prey on the goodwill of others at this time. In the afternoon, Mercury mingles with Pluto to give our intuition a boost. We also have Venus interacting with Mars, w2hich can help us make a balanced approach to any conflicts, problems, or goals that require a lot of effort. Wednesday is a quiet one in the skies for us.

As our morning begins on Thursday, the Moon will go Void of Course until the early evening. It then moves into fiery Aries, where we tend to feel a lot of excess energy. Try to burn that off by being active. Some may actually feel this shift more than others and experience trouble sleeping. Aries also draws us towards wanting new emotional beginnings, a fresh start, perhaps the establishment of new habit patterns – so make sure they’re good ones because they’ll set the tone for you for quite some time to come! This energy will continue through Friday and into the weekend.

That Aries energy is with us until mid-afternoon on Saturday, when it goes Void of Course until Sunday Morning. For those who are wondering, a Void of Course Moon is when it is travelling between two signs in the zodiac. In this void, the Moon isn’t quite sure how it feels. And since the Moon rules our emotions, we don’t know how we feel either! We may feel a bit lost, run down, out of sorts or confused. The effects can last from a few seconds to a day or two. It is believed that any activities that we start during a Void of Course Moon will lack the foundation, stability and guidance to get going causing them to drift, face delays and false starts, face unexpected hassles, break down or never reaching that stage of completion. It’s not the best time for decision making, however, it is a good time for taking a bit of a break.

Early Sunday morning, the Moon will move into earthy Taurus, where patience, diligence, perseverance and practicality are on the increase. The Moon in Taurus favours occupations which demand prolonged and persistent effort, but it is also good for complete rest in comfort and cosiness. Taurus where we are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace, and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulses are to relax, resist change, and “stop to smell the roses”. Life slows down a little, and we get comfortable. We may also be inclined to stubbornness and materialism under this influence. It is best to avoid undertaking anything which requires quickness, decisiveness and quick-wittedness.

We have a challenging transit between the Sun and Neptune today as well, which can be a bit tricky to work with because it has the tendency to take those wistful ideas and wishful thinking and make them seem more realistic than they actually are. On a positive note, this transit makes our imagination very active. It can be a creative time if we can harness our imaginations and creativity productively. Venus will be mingling with Neptune as well today, which can open the flow of artistry, romance, creativity and faith. We find ourselves inspired as our creative Muse comes to the surface. And lastly, Jupiter and Chiron come together in a challenging square, which puts us on the threshold of realization that we are the healer we have been waiting for all this time.
