Week Ahead – Monday, May 27th through Sunday, June 2nd

  • Posted on May 26, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone, and Happy Memorial Day weekend! We at the home stretch now for May, with a new month starting over next weekend. Today, we have a gentle Pisces Moon that will also be with us for Monday’s Memorial Day. It’s a good time for sitting by watery places, meditation, watching a good movie, or have a good daydream session. The pace will pick up at the beginning of the work week, so enjoy the energies of the next couple of days! June brings an energy that focuses on tending to home and family with Mars moving into Cancer for the month. Venus will be moving into Gemini, which wants us to explore new people and opportunities. So two contradicting energies that we will need to balance out. Let’s see what this coming week has in store for us!

MONDAY/TUESDAY

Monday is a quiet one, but we still have that Pisces energy to tap into. Our Tuesday morning begins with an early morning Void of Course Moon, which will be with us until the early evening. It then moves into energetic Aries, where we feel a need to be moving. it’s a good idea to do some activities that will help burn off that excess energy that an Aries Moon brings. This Moon favours occupations which demand courage, decisiveness, swiftness and initiative, but anything which requires patience, diligence and diplomacy are likely to decline now. It is a good time for athletics, and for solving problems by ‘brainstorming’. Dental visits are not recommended on the Aries Moon.

WEDNESDAY

Today we have quick paced Mercury making a challenging square with Neptune. With this transit, our mental focus can feel a bit clouded, confused, or lethargic. We’ll need to make sure we give ourselves some space between daily activities to rest our minds. Many of us may feel a bit out of whack and off balance. We’ll need to balance our left brain analytical side with our intuitive right brain thinking by being less rigid and more open to a new perspective. Otherwise, we will find the left-brained analytical side a bit hard to work with right now. Listening more and talking less will help our inner sensitivity to be more receptive to what is being said. Sometimes it requires us to let go of what we think we know and understand about the situations in our lives in order to make ourselves more open to new perspectives that can change how we have been dealing with things.

THURSDAY

Mercury remains busy today with an opposition with Jupiter, where our thoughts and words tend to be amplified. Venus is busy as well today in both Neptune and the Lunar North Node. This will give us a much-needed buffer zone for the Mercury/Neptune/Jupiter energy. The Venus/Neptune transit opens up the flow of artistry, romance, creativity and faith. The Venus/North Node transit lets our charisma and charm shine through. It’s a good time for some relaxed socializing.

FRIDAY

Today the Moon shifts into earthy Taurus, where we start to feel the tension of the past few days drop away. People tend to become calmer and peaceful. We feel secure and stable. There is also this tendency for our thoughts and reactions to slow down, making us feel a bit slow in getting ourselves going. This is the best time for taking care of the home, running errands, restocking supplies and tending to routine maintenance. Its best to hold off on important business now, as well as the signing of contracts or important papers, because we may make mistakes due to a slowed down reaction and thinking process. Venus also makes a harmonizing trine with Saturn today, a transit whose characteristics are about stability in both relationships and finances. We can also find it easier to focus on projects that are creative in nature. This is a good transit for making concrete progress in matters that involve love, balance, beauty and harmony.

WEEKEND

Saturday is a quiet one for us. The Moon will go Void of Course just before midnight. The Moon remains Void of Course until just after Noon when it moves into mentally active Gemini. Under Gemini’s influence, our basic instinct is to communicate, think, and share ideas. We are motivated by a desire for variety and by an instinctive curiosity. The Moon in Gemini is light-hearted, breezy, and curious, but it can also be restless and fickle. It is a good time, however, to be on the move, travelling short distances in order to fulfil that need for new impressions, and meeting up with friends and relative. Venus makes another harmonizing trine today, this time with Pluto. With this transit, the deeper aspects of love become apparent, without the usual stresses and strains. If you have been wanting to deepen or renew a previous commitment in a relationship, now is a good time to do so. This can be an excellent time for finances and for relationships.

Week Ahead – Monday, May 20th through Sunday, May 26th

  • Posted on May 19, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We’re in the last half of May already and today we have the influence of a Sagittarius Moon with us, which makes it the perfect time for those philosophical conversations or taking a trip into the outdoors to explore. Try to get out and enjoy the lovely weather. Now, let’s see what this coming week has in store for us.

MONDAY/TUESDAY

We still have that adventuresome Sagittarius energy with us today. Other than that, it’s a fairly quiet one in the skies. The Moon will go Void of Course in the early evening. On Tuesday morning the Moon will shift into Capricorn, which can be a very sober influence–even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the face. We also want to be more productive under Capricorn’s energy, which can be good for planning and examining the resources available to you. The Sun will be moving into Gemini today, so Happy Solar Return to all of my fellow Gemini’s out there! Mercury also joins the Sun in Gemini today to make a conjunction. This means that the pace of things will pick up speed and its a good time for doing short, quick activities and projects over the next 3 to 4 weeks.

WEDNESDAY

Today Mars makes a trine with the Lunar North Node, which lets our creativity flow more freely. We do tend to have our heads in the clouds with this transit, as we feel more hopeful for how things could be. But we need to take care because we are more vulnerable now and the reality of the results we achieve may not match up to what we thought. So try to stay grounded! We also have a sextile between Mars and Uranus today. so its a good day for stepping outside of our routines.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY

In the early hours of the morning, the Moon goes Void of Course until the early evening. It then moves into Aquarius, making it a good time for meeting up with and connecting with old friends. There’s an impulse to break out of claustrophobic situations and relationships under the influence of this Moon. It’s the right mood for turning into group energy too. We also have a sextile between Mercury and Chiron, which brings us the opportunity to think and reflect on our pain. It can get the ball rolling on healing ourselves. Mars also makes a challenging square to the Wounded Healer, which can have us confronting issues in our lives around how we tend to get hurt by others, how we hurt others, and how healing can now take place in these scenarios. Friday is a quiet one in the skies.

WEEKEND

Saturday morning continues with the Aquarius Moon vibes until early afternoon, when the Moon goes Void of Course. It remains that way until Sunday morning when it moves into Pisces. A Pisces Moon can bring about feelings of romance, heightened intuition, mystical and dreamy moods, and an interest in the unknown, religion and all that is magical. On a negative side, it can be harder to deal with the harsher aspects of reality during these lunar days. We may escape with one more drink, or “check out” in front of the television. It’s easy to coast through the day when you’re dreamy or “lost.” It helps to have some creative focus, in order not to flounder in the sign of the Fishes. We also have a harmonious sextile between the Sun and Chiron, where the life-giving Sun sheds its light on our wounds, leading to a release from our bonds to our past bringing healing and wisdom.

Bullying in the workplace part 2

  • Posted on May 14, 2019 at 2:55 pm

This isn’t my story.  It’s the story of someone close to me though.  Someone who was put through hell by the company they loyally served for years.  A company who hides behind phrases, such as “supporting dignity and equality”.  A company who hides behind policies that seem to not apply to those higher up.  In any case, they put this person through 3 years of hell.  I watched that person go from an active and lively individual to someone who was a shadow of that person.  A few vindictive individuals thought it was ok to berate, antagonize, and push this person to the point where they became deeply depressed and developed severe anxiety.  Going to work every day made matters worse and eventually led to my friend having to be placed on sick leave for months.  During that time, these people continued to harass him, bringing him up on trumped up charges, digging for any bit of “evidence” they could find, even making things up.  They were told time and time again that their actions were pushing my friend towards suicidal and self-harming actions.  My friend overdosed many times in the workplace because he could not cope with the constant bullying.  And yet those higher up did nothing to stop this.  So, here is my friend’s story.

He resigned thankfully but they continue to deny their wrong doings, even though he has clearly pointed out breaches in DPA.  He asked me to share his resignation letter and the response from the person who was meant to be “assisting him” with the issues.

From Raven A MacBeth

Formal and official letter of Resignation.

After consultation and careful consideration because of the events of the past almost four years,
I must resign from my position and cut all ties with EXX after ten years of service.

My reasons for this action are as follows:

Firstly after returning from an operation and still in great pain while trying to recover, my newly appointed manager A. P. chose to repeatedly humiliate and embarrass me in front of my colleagues on the call centre floor. I followed procedure and raised these concerns with the section head at that time R. F., she summarily dismissed them until it got to the stage that she didn’t know what to do, I had to provide the solution to move from her section to avoid the situation further. By this time I had already begun to develop a dangerous addiction to prescription medications resulting in overdoses and being taken to the hospital from work because of the situation.

Already having a serious issue, I was not offered any help and was instead disciplined further for issues at work, this made the situation worse. I was even disciplined for a policy infraction that EXX could not show me the policy, I had violated. During this formal my overdose was so bad that I was taken from work to the emergency room, the doctors determined at that time that I was non-suicidal with self-harm tendencies because of the situation at EXX.

When I returned 3 weeks later still trying to recover from that overdose, I was informed that I had been accused of using inappropriate language, A. P. who was not this persons’ manager took it upon herself to approach the section head to request a formal, quite the coincidence. The employee stated that a manager was on the floor that day heard the statement and could verify that I had said it, the manager was not even in the building that day, the case was dismissed but didn’t prevent further overdoses because of the stress and upset.

This goes on for almost four years after the case was dismissed I raised at least two grievances which Senior Manager P. B. felt was not worth pursuing, finally, Senior Manager C. C. had a meeting with myself and a union rep, she acknowledged that I had a drug problem and that R. F.  was returning from maternity leave and I would not be safe if I remained in her section, but if I joined her section she would help me to manage my drug issue and manage any further stresses to help me to try to get back a normal work life.

So she berated a fellow SM playing on my vulnerable position to convince me she would be the best option, not very professional to resort to these tactics. This is further highlighted in a recent statement that she made, I raised an issue about TM S. M.  who is currently conducting an investigation into accusations that have been made. I stated to SM C. M. was contacting me on my personal email while being signed off sick and I have not given him authority to do so, as follows:

“However this does not give Mr Mxxx the right to email me on my personal email without my consent, he has clearly breached DPA”. Her response was “It is important that you are represented and reply to Sxxx’s questions – our occupational health team have said they believe you are fit to answer the questions given by Sxxx via email.” how is this justification for DPA breach?

This also highlights Mr Mxxxy’s methods, before I knew that I was accused of violating EXX’S media policy, he sent me a “friend” invite on an old LinkedIn account that I have not used for at least 8 years and was not aware it existed when he got no response he then proceeded with a formal accusation when asked I was a little surprised as I had fo0rgotten that the account was still active, the fact that I had not responded confirms that I was telling the truth, he chose to ignore this. These actions are underhanded and devious, in 8 years and even through at least 5 other hearings no one has ever mentioned the account or that it existed, there has been no negative impact to EXX’S brand and was never an issue until he made it one.

The current accusation is by a Lead Agent A.  J. who alleges that I called him names at work but has no one that can substantiate his lie, feeling that the case may not be pursued, he then spent time searching the internet to find something that may stick, which is where he discovered the LinkedIn account that I didn’t know about, this is the actions of a vindictive person that already has been caught in a lie. You have also spent the companies valuable time going back through my calls from 6 months ago to find something that you can add to the case, are you that afraid that the first 2 accusations are so weak you had better make sure, sounds like a witch hunt to me.

As a result of this further series of ridiculous accusations, I suffered a near-fatal overdose at work. When I got home my wife was instructed to take me to the emergency room where they kept me under observation for 48 hours before feeling that I was stable enough to return home, but was not to return to work. Throughout this time I had been overdosing at work just to get through each day, I had previously tried to get help from work for the problem from EAPS who told me that they could not help me and they did not know what to do. I repeatedly told my TM K. P. that I was suicidal and was self-harming she did not know what to say or do, SM Cxxx and TM S. M. were also made aware of this and no one did anything. SM Cxxx has confirmed that EAPS I know you’ve spoken to EAP previously and they were unable to offer you any long term counselling, so in effect when you as a company push a human being to the point of suicide and self-harm you are unable to cope with the problem that you have caused. EXX’S policy is “if a person whether employee or customer gives substantial reason to suspect that they may cause self-harm or a fatal injury to themselves you are required to notify the authorities so that they can intervene” after almost 4 years of telling TM’s and SM’s that I was self-harming only once did you contact the authorities, this means that your SM’s and TM’s are not following policy.

TM K. P. apart from not following one policy also breached two others, she did not confirm from me that it was okay for her to discuss my situation with my wife, while I was signed off, this breaches DPA, also as my wife was very angry at callbacks that were promised but never made, she also did not raise a complaint, advise of CHP or send a 2-day letter.

The director’s office while they did confirm with me DPA breached the complaints process on the back of a letter that my wife had sent in showing clear dissatisfaction, no complaint was raised, no CHP or any part of the complaints process followed. You have for 4 years been disciplining an employee that has a Prescription medication issue that originated at EXX and is documented At Queens Medical, Derby Mental Health and by my Doctor who has been helping me.

Every time I told you that I was overdosing and that you were pushing me over the edge and self-harming, you turned your back on me, your own SM’s and TM’s are breaching policies, and berating each other, employees like A. J. who are caught falsely accusing someone of something ridiculous but spend their time surfing the net just to cause vindictive injury to a person instead of helping customers.

I gave you 10 years of hard work and loyal service you gave me a prescription drug problem and being under multiple doctors care and the worse thing is that you feel that EXX has done nothing wrong and doesn’t have to take responsibility for what you have done.

I will not continue to work for a company that has shown such deceitful methods and such an inhuman attitude to a human being whose life you have helped to destroy.

Raven MacBeth

“This is so mind-boggling but tell me what you think, ( I removed any contact details to be fair). I sent in my resignation letter, which I posted on my FB page, I even detailed the reasons why and it is quite serious, and this is what the response was:

subject: RE: Formal letter of Resignation

Hi Raven,
Thank you for sending across your letter of resignation

I just wanted to confirm to you that currently, the investigation is still on going, and no blame has been apportioned or disciplinary action taken so I really don’t want the process you are currently in to influence your decision to leave EXX.

I’m really sorry you feel that we haven’t supported you enough over the last four years – I appreciate you are having a really tough time at the moment and I’m really glad you are seeking professional help to try and get that support.

I need to confirm whether you would like your resignation to be effective immediately or if you would like a notice period. Your notice period could extend up to 10 weeks.

If you are resigning with notice, I’d like to give you the opportunity to reflect on your decision for a couple of weeks. Please confirm if you’d still like me to progress with your resignation by 9th May.

I’m here as always if you’d like to talk,

Kind regards,
C.  C.
Section Manager

Not only did she obviously not read the contents of the letter but then sends this as a response!,Like I said to you Managers
there haven’t listened for four years, breached so many policies but chose to target me and you’re still not listening,I am not surprised as this would be a standard type of reply
sent to a customer, avoid the issues and responsibility of your actions but string together empty sentences that look pretty together and provide the illusion of concern.

I resigned because of this type of attitude to customers and also fellow employees that I know for a fact suffered because of the environment that they have to work under.

Week Ahead – Monday, May 13th through Sunday, May 19th

  • Posted on May 12, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday and happy Mother’s Day to all of the Moms in the USA!  Today’s energies are under the influence of a Leo Moon, which is happy and open-hearted. We have some pleasant lunar activity that supports happy emotions. As we move into the early evening the tone goes a bit quieter as the Moon goes Void of Course. Hope you all enjoy the day! Let’s see what this week has in store for us.

MONDAY

Monday begins with the Moon still in its Void of Course lunation. This changes in the late afternoon as it moves into practical Virgo. A great time for spring cleaning and tackling those chores where the little details are important. We have a trine between the Sun and Pluto as well today. Whether you’re clearing out your closet or flushing out your brain, this transit is the time for getting rid of whatever has become unnecessary or outworn in our lives. And this can be anything from an unhealthy relationship to old and outworn beliefs that are holding you back. Or you just may need to chuck the rubbish out of your workspace. Basically, we are being stimulated to make some needed changes.

TUESDAY

Our day starts with a sextile between Venus and Mars, which supports relationship conversations and activities. The Moon will go Void of Course briefly in the early evening and then shift into balancing Libra soon after. This adds more support to the area of relationships and bringing things into balance. It’s easier to find compromises for challenging situations under a Libra Moon.

WEDNESDAY

Today brings us the biggest shift of the week. Venus moves into Taurus today, and Mars moves into Cancer. Venus is comfy in Taurus and can help us to manifest our desires and needs. Just be careful not to overindulge! Mars’ move into Cancer, on the other hand, is not as comfortable. The focus is on working through home and family issues now, but warrior Mars wants things done quickly and decisively. The problem here is that emotions take time to process, so we need to find that balance between our emotional needs and ambitious needs. We also have a sextile between Mercury and Neptune today, where our intuition runs high. Mainly, this is a good time for creativity, optimism, intuition and hope. We just need to make sure that we stay grounded.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY

The Moon goes Void of Course mid-morning on Thursday, and soon after moves into brooding Scorpio. While this can make the next couple of days feel emotionally difficult, it is a good time for getting below the surface of some issues that need our attention. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it’s an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Mercury is busy for the next 2 days as well, making communications important at this time. We have a Mercury/North Node sextile, which focuses on movement and how we communicate and plan our destiny. It’s a good energy for conversations around serious, long-term planning. If you have something you need to tell the world, now is the time to do it! There is also a trine between Mercury and Saturn in play. This extends into Friday and makes it a supportive energy for conversations or research on deeper topics, which make you feel emotionally vulnerable.

WEEKEND

SATURDAY

Today we have a seasonal Blue Moon in Scorpio. Right now, the water and earth elements are quite strong. This provides us with some great emotional and pragmatic support. We are, however, missing the element of air, which can lead us to feel stuck in a comfortable rut right now. We need to be conscious and open to new ideas and new perspectives on life now. We have Mercury in a trine with Pluto during the day, which can help us get to the heart of things. This is also a good time for mental activities that require research, concentration and investigation. We also have a conjunction between Venus and Uranus, which can have us itching for a change at this time in the areas of romance and our social lives. This Taurus/Scorpio energy means that Taurus can help us understand what we value and desire, and Scorpio helps us to go down to our emotional depths to release any behaviours or beliefs that are self-defeating. The Moon goes Void of Cours in the late evening.

SUNDAY

As we begin our Sunday morning, the Moon will have slipped into optimistic Sagittarius, bringing us some stability and peace. It is a suitable time for large-scale plans but not for any occupations which require attention to detail. This lunar mood is very adventurous, active and restless for exploration. We want to experience life first hand. we want to get outdoors, see the sights, connect with nature, go places we haven’t been before. Use the day to get out and socialize, try something new, or philosophize with friends.

Week Ahead – Monday, May 6th through Sunday, May 12th

  • Posted on May 5, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We are making our way into the first full May week. Today is a quiet one under a Void of Course Moon, which is usually a time to not take important actions or make any significant purchases. It’s an introspective phase that is suited for meditation or doing those mundane tasks around the home. Let’s have a look at what this week has in store for us.

MONDAY

In the early hours of the morning, the Moon will move into Gemini, where we become active, feel stronger emotional sensitivity and a need for socializing. We also have the tendency to fall under influences that can lead to the danger of getting off course and making mistakes. We may easily meet new people now, however half of the contacts we make will later turn out to be empty. Some of us will try to do everything all at once, which later leaves us stuck with unfinished projects and ideas. Mercury moves into Taurus today, which brings our thinking back down to earth and helps us accomplish a lot if we put our minds to it. We also have a challenging square between Venus and the North Lunar Node. With this transit, we may start noticing that the people in our lives are not giving us the encouragement and support we need where fulfilling our life purpose is concerned. Venus also rules finances and resources so we could run into issues around possessions, resources and finances that call for adjustments now. This isn’t a very long transit, lasting only a few days. So the things we come across may not be major issues. But if something significant does rear its head at this time, it could be a sign that we have something that needs to be looked at more closely.

TUESDAY

This morning may start off feeling somewhat odd because we have the Moon in Gemini, which wants to move at a quick pace, and a challenging square between Venus and Saturn, which is patient, slow, and wants to take its time. There could be a lot of starts and stops, so try to pace yourself. Things will pick up the pace tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY

In the wee hours of the morning, the Moon goes Void of Course for a few hours. It then moves into Cancer mid-morning, bringing a calmer, less restless energy our way. It’s a good energy for sharing and spending time with those in your inner circle. Things pick up a bit with a conjunction happening between Mercury and Uranus, which opens us up to innovative ideas. However, there is an impatience here that we may see with drivers on the road. There is also a sextile between the Sun and Neptune happening today. This transit illuminates our intuition and gives us faith in the blessings around us. It should start to feel as if we are flowing better with life today.

THURSDAY

Today brings energies into play that will help us open up to something expansive and bigger in our lives. This is down to Venus being very active today, bringing energies that are supportive of manifesting our desires and needs. Venus will be in a happy little trine with Jupiter, which can draw those to us who appreciate who we are and are willing to lend support. It also brings some optimism our way. We also have a square between Venus and Pluto, which can make our relationships feel more intense, deeper, and transformative. Some of us may feel prompted to delve deeper down on a soul level in order to connect with our own inner beauty and sense of values. Mainly, this transit can shed light on those problem areas in our lives that need to go through a bit of a transformative process in order to heal.

FRIDAY

In the early hours of the morning, the Moon will go Void of Course and remain that way until mid-afternoon. It then moves into heart opening Leo, just in time for the weekend. This Moon brings a cheery vibe, making it easier to be lifted out of the doldrums. Its a good time for presentations, celebrations and social events. You might want to leave the day open, and let your spontaneous mischievous child inside lead the way.

WEEKEND

SATURDAY/SUNDAY

Aside from the playful Leo Moon energy going on this weekend, we also have a trine between the Sun and Saturn on Saturday. The Sun is energy and Saturn is discipline, and the Trine is the most supportive transit of them all. It brings us back into contact with ourselves and helps us to get to know ourselves through our relationship with, and our effect on, our environment. This is a time to examine your habits, your home situation, your work, and everything else that is important to you. Determine how they work on a practical level. Begin organizing your life and making an overall plan. Even your relationships should be supportive now. Sunday is a quiet one in the skies, but we still have that bit of Leo energy to play with as well.
