Week Ahead – Monday, April 29th through Sunday, May 5th

  • Posted on April 28, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We only have a couple more days left of April. May 1st, which is on Wednesday, begins the Pagan celebration of Beltaine or May Day. Today we have a quiet, gentle energy in play, with the Moon moving into Pisces. This week will see the third planet going retrograde, amping up the energy for putting the past in order and prepare for bigger changes to come. For now, let’s see what this week has in store for us.

MONDAY

Today Saturn joins Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn as it begins its retrograde cycle. For up to a week before and after today, our physical and emotional energy may feel a bit heavy, stuck, serious or sad. We might feel held back by circumstances or pressured by people or situations involving structure, rules, authority figures, expectations and responsibilities. Over the next four months, our goals and ambitions get a beneficial boost from developing and planning on a deeper level. This will be a time for reworking and refining our goals so that we can determine how we can best achieve them. Another area we may need to examine is our motives for wanting to achieve these goals, as well as how feasible they are. So we may look at how those goals, or the methods we have used to achieve them, need to be changed.

TUESDAY

Today begins with Saturn making an opposition to the Lunar North Node. When Saturn is opposite the North Lunar Node it is also conjunct the South Node. This transit shows us that there is something we need to let go of. It may be something that must end or a person or situation we need to detach ourselves from. It’s a time to stop, step back, reassess and regroup. In the late evening, the Moon will go Void of Course.

WEDNESDAY

May Day Blessings! Just before Noon today the Moon will shift into fiery Aries. Some may actually feel this shift more than others. An Aries Moon tends to bring conflict more than most times, with emotional tensions growing, people becoming short-tempered and impulsive. It is a good time for athletics, and for solving problems by ‘brainstorming’. Mercury is keeping itself busy today with 3 transits, a sextile with Mars, a square with Saturn, and a Square with the Lunar North Node today as well. The Mercury/Mars transit helps us to dig down deep to find the courage we need to speak our minds. Just keep in mind that thoughtful actions will produce positive results and by planning ahead for possible consequences we can minimize any potential conflicts. The Mercury/North Node transit can have us feeling compelled to do a 360 about where we have been headed on our life’s path. It’s a time when information or facts turn up that are in total contradiction to what we believed was true or real about our sense of life purpose. Then there is the Mercury/Saturn transit, which can bring some obstacles, delays, and over-critical thinking. So try to take things one step at a time today.

THURSDAY

Mercury continues its busyness with another square, this time with Pluto. Square aspects usually bring challenges or obstacles that we need to overcome. Mercury Square Pluto is no exception here and we need to be cautious with this transit with impulsive and obsessive interaction between quick to speak Mercury and burn your bridges, Pluto. This transit often brings some level of mental stress and pressure. Avoid the tendency to read between the lines with a negative slant, as it is bound to only stir up trouble. Consider that some situations call for keeping silent if only for the time being. Also, watch out for dramatic outbursts and events, both personally and globally. We then have a trine between Mercury and Jupiter, which can help ease the pressure of the past day or so. It will give us a chance to step back to get a broader overview of projects we are working on, especially business-related ones.

FRIDAY

Our morning begins with a Void of Course Moon that will move into Taurus in the late evening. The Taurus Moon will bring us some much-needed peace as we feel the tension of the past few days start to drop away. People tend to become calmer and peaceful under a Taurus Moon and it’s a good energy to get the weekend started.

WEEKEND

Saturday is our Taurus New Moon, which gives us the opportunity to ground and settle any energies that we have unearthed. It brings a nurturing energy that allows us to move forward and guides us to physically engage in those things that nurture us. Things like spending quality time with your family and engaging in activities that bring physical satisfaction, working with our hands in crafting, creating, cooking, gardening, cleaning and building all can bring a sense of deep satisfaction now. This also gives us a chance to pull back a bit and allow integration and rest after engaging in those new ideas and opportunities that Aries urged us to take action with.

Sunday brings an opposition between Mars and Jupiter, which can be a time of inspired action, as well as brash overconfidence. It’s an energy we may feel for up to a week prior and a week after today, where we may experience an amplification of our anger, energy, ability to take action and libido. The problem here is that this energy can be amplified to the point of us pushing ourselves beyond what is realistic, causing some to be unable to cope with boundaries that are reasonable and keep us from getting out of control. The way to work with this energy is to find that fine line of balance between our spiritual inspiration and our ego-based desires. The Moon goes Void of Course mid-afternoon.

Week Ahead – Monday, April 22nd through Sunday, April 28th

  • Posted on April 21, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Easter everyone! I’m glad to see that the warmer temperatures are coming back, just in time for the bank holiday. The Moon is in Sagittarius today, which is a great energy for parties, Easter celebrations, sneaking off into nature, or activities that are on the philosophical side of life. The week ahead has more in store, so let’s have a look at what’s ahead.

MONDAY

Today is Earth Day and we have a conjunction between the Sun and Uranus. Uranus always tells us to expect the unexpected. Its focus can be on cutting-edge technology. This transit can bring some new and unusual perspectives our way. This is a day that could turn out to be quite revolutionary and vocal, given the recent protests by high school students, for money to be put into the environment, against political administration policies. it will be interesting to see what takes place.

TUESDAY

Tuesday afternoon brings a Void of Course Moon that will be with us until just before midnight. it then moves into Capricorn, which can be a very sober influence–even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the face. This lunar mood puts the focus on real-world ambitions. We might spend our time mapping out a business plan. It’s timely for considering what’s a good investment of your time, energy and resources. What will bring a solid return? Everything is viewed through a practical eye, including relationships. We can see how to make structural changes that make life more efficient. We also have a conjunction between Venus and Chiron, where unresolved issues and old wounds regarding relationships and finances comes to the surface.

WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY

On Wednesday, take a moment to tune in and see if you can feel transforming Pluto starting its retrograde cycle. Pluto is in Capricorn now and its retrograde cycle will last for about 5 months. This period will be a time for letting go of things and people who are trying to control or manipulate us, or for us to let go of trying to control other people or situations. In the late evening, on Thursday, the Moon will go Void of Course.

FRIDAY

Mid-morning the Moon moves into Aquarius, just in time for the weekend, It’s a good energy for meeting new people, trying something new, or making a change in your usual routine. It is the right mood for turning into group energy. It encourages respect for each person, along with a cohesive awareness of the group as a whole. You can see your place in the bigger scheme of things. You can get an abstract take on how the different strands fit together. The Moon in Aquarius tunes us into the group psyche and soul.

WEEKEND

SATURDAY

Saturday will continue with that Aquarius energy. We also have a square aspect between Mars and Neptune. For up to a week before and a week after today, we have a chance to discover and work with our blind spots and the hidden motives that tend to trip us up. Feelings of disappointment or helplessness may trigger much deeper feelings from our unconscious, making it difficult for us to know how to respond effectively in the here-and-now. It will probably help to work on owning our feelings, needs, longings and (hidden) agendas. Being honest with ourselves about what’s really going on inside of us will go a long way toward increasing our empowerment.

SUNDAY

Mid-morning the Moon will go Void of Course, where it will remain until the late evening. The Moon then moves into Pisces, bringing a mystical feeling to everyday things. A Pisces Moon can bring about feelings of romance, heightened intuition, mystical and dreamy moods, and an interest in the unknown, religion and all that is magical. Just bear in mind that, there is also a tendency for getting overly involved in the problems of others, causing us to temporarily lose ourselves in the process. It’s wise to watch out for those who prey on the goodwill of others at this time.

Week Ahead – Monday, April 15th through Sunday, April 21st

  • Posted on April 14, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday Everyone! Someone tell me what on earth has happened to Spring here in the UK? We’ve gone from normal springtime weather to temperatures in single digits. Kind of glad I haven’t had a chance to transfer my herbs into the garden yet! So, today we have a harmonious transit between the Sun and Jupiter, bringing optimism, social energy, and a boost to take on those large projects that need doing. Let’s have a look at what this new week brings us.

MONDAY

The Moon goes Void of Course in the wee hours of the morning and then shifts into Virgo just before noon. With Virgo, it’s the small details that seem to be more important to us. We just need to be careful of being too “nit-picky” or getting into arguments over little and insignificant things. This is not a good time for making any large, risky or important decisions though, because we tend to not be tapped into our intuition enough to foresee what the consequences of the future will be. if it involves little details, you’re good to go. Since today is Tax Day in the US, its a good one for filling out those income tax reports.

TUESDAY

Tuesday brings a challenging square between Venus and Jupiter. When the romance planet Venus squares Jupiter, the planet of luck, we tend to want to take pleasure in doing things in a very big way. The challenge is to fight those urges to overdo, overspend, and overindulge. Have fun with this energy but remember to set yourself some boundaries too.

WEDNESDAY

The Moon will be Void of Course in the early morning hours and then will move into balancing Libra just after noon today. Libra brings us a sense of calm and harmony. It’s a good energy for socializing and connecting with others. You may also find it easier to find common ground in any conflicts. The next couple of days are considered to be power days for speeches and offering your big idea. It’s also the right mood to make amends or compromise. Mercury will be moving into Aries today, and we are finally leaving its retrograde shadow. In Aries, Mercury helps us to push our ideas forward with its “Just do it!” energy. We do need to be careful of coming across as too direct, speaking out of anger, impulse or just pure impatience. There’s a tendency for missing important details now too.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY

Thursday is a quieter day for us. Friday is our Full Moon in Libra. Reflect back to the spring equinox’s Full Moon, which was at the beginning of Libra/Aries. Now we are at the very ending of these two signs. Libra is about our relationships (including lack of relationships), and Aries is about exerting your independence. This means we will see a continuation of opportunities to re-balance our relationship and individuality needs. The difference with this Full Moon is that we have an abundance of planets in action-oriented signs now. We run the risk of taking on too much so keep it in balance. The Moon will go Void of Course just after Noon and then moves into Scorpio mid-afternoon, which can be an emotionally difficult time for some. Last, we have a conjunction between Mercury and Wounded Healer Chiron. With this transit, we need to remember that words can wound, but they can also heal. Use yours wisely.

WEEKEND

SATURDAY

The Sun moves into earthy Taurus today, bringing our attention towards material issues, basic needs, and putting our financial houses in order. The Sun brings a gentle warmth when it moves through Taurus, encouraging languorous, almost lazy and carefree, moments of relaxation that remind us of how sweet life can be when we stop for a moment to smell the roses. The Sun is in Taurus also gives us the strength and tenacity to follow through on all those projects that were initiated and probably deserted during that impetuous Aries Sun. Taurus may not be a time for brilliant ideas or innovation, but remember that saying about reaping and sowing! Venus will be moving into her least favourite sign today as well. The goddess of beauty in Aries can help us to pick up the pace if we are willing to explore new opportunities and relationships- especially friendships and organizations in the days ahead. Also, spontaneous attractions and restless relationships are likely with the love planet in impatient Aries and we need to be careful about things like impulse buying or reckless decisions regarding passion. In all, it can be a transit that helps get us out of a rut and is also a great time for appreciating and celebrating our unique individual selves.

SUNDAY

Early Sunday morning brings a Void of Course Moon that will last for the whole day. As early evening sets in, the Moom moves into Sagittarius, an optimistic energy where we tend to become a bit more orderly and calm, are ready to follow routines and rules and have a need for giving and receiving advice and recommendations. You may want to get out for an early Sunday evening dinner. With Taurus, we want to experience life first hand. We want to get outdoors, see the sights, connect with nature, go places we haven’t been before. Just take care because it also puts us in a risk-taking mood.

Week Ahead – Monday, April 8th through Sunday, April 14th

  • Posted on April 7, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We are moving into the midway point of April now, and this week brings us a Neptune retrograde. This retrograde will last for several months and have us reviewing big changes or cleaning up the past to get ready to move forward in much bigger ways come autumn of next year. Today we have a Taurus Moon in play and it’s a nice happy energy that lets us get into our own groove and keep it going. Let’s see what the rest of this week has in store for us.

MONDAY

Monday morning starts off with a Void of Course Moon that will last until the late evening. The Moon then slips into Gemini. Under Gemini, we see a rise in sociability, cheerfulness and quick-wittedness. Our interest in information of all kinds rises as well. The Moon in Gemini favours study, intellectual pursuits, acquaintances, conferences and gatherings. However, heightened changeability and scattering your interests can prevent you from getting definite, tangible results. Under Gemini’s influence, our basic instinct is to communicate, think, and share ideas. We are motivated by a desire for variety and by an instinctive curiosity. The Moon in Gemini is light-hearted, breezy, and curious, but it can also be restless and fickle. It is a good time, however, to be on the move, travelling short distances in order to fulfil that need for new impressions, and meeting up with friends and relative.

TUESDAY

Today we have a supportive trine between Mercury and the Lunar North Node. The North Node is said to represent that which we are moving towards, the path we are currently walking in our lives, and the direction of our growth. Some refer to it as our path of Destiny. This aspect brings us fresher awareness as well as a better ability to communicate that awareness. It is a beneficial resource which can help us to take a few more steps closer towards our life purpose. Just bear in mind that we also need to take action too. We will need to, at some juncture, take into account what we have observed and do something with this.

WEDNESDAY

Today brings a gentle and easy to get along with energy as Venus makes a conjunction with Neptune. We also have a challenging square between the Sun and Saturn happening, which isn’t a good energy for forcing anything forward that isn’t ready to move. The Venus/Neptune conjunction brings dreamy desire and romance as well as deceptive manipulation and negotiations that are self-serving. The positive side of this transit is that it can inspire a lot of creativity as well as healing faith in the areas of abundance and love. Later in the day, a sextile between Mercury and Pluto takes place, giving us an increase in our insight. It’s good for looking beyond the surface of situations. The Moon goes Void of Course in the early evening.

THURSDAY

In the very early hours of the morning, the Moon moves from the restlessness of the Gemini Moon into an instinctive need for peace and quiet. It’s a time for increased emotions, vulnerability and touchiness. Our need for seclusion could become quite strong, and there is a desire to communicate only with those closest to us. It’s a good energy for connecting with those nearest and dearest to us. Today is also the day that Neptune turns retrograde. This retrograde period takes place in Sagittarius, which is ruled by Jupiter so this will be a more benevolent retrograde cycle. Collectively, we could see revisions in laws for international travel, foreign policies, and religious laws. Individually, this brings a process of inner expansion of our consciousness, as well as the exploration of any areas in our lives that are ruled by Sagittarius.

FRIDAY

The planets are busy today. We start off with a square between Mercury and Jupiter, which can cause us a bit of information overload, often causing us to neglect or miss important details. There is also a tendency to overstate or overexaggerate our views and situations. It can be a good opportunity to learn something about how we jump to conclusions or place blame, especially if a situation triggers something that challenges our beliefs. The Sun makes a square to the Lunar North Node as well today. This is an aspect that can bring feelings of conflict between our sense of identity and purpose with the lessons we are needing to learn in our lives. It can make some feel uncomfortable. We may feel the effects of this Sun/Node transit for about a week and a half prior to, and a week and a half after this date. It can cause those areas that the Moon covers, such as our intuition, sensitivity and inner feelings, to feel unstable or out of balance. Lastly, we have a sextile between Venus and Saturn. This is a day for romantic yearnings, fantasies and longings. It makes the perfect time to ask yourself if there is a dream of yours, perhaps one you had to shelve for a while, that you can now take down, blow off the dust, and make it come true.

WEEKEND

SATURDAY

In the wee hours of the morning, the Moon will go Void of Course and then move into Leo as we begin our morning. We get a fun, open-hearted energy with Leo, so this is a good time for having fun and being social. You might want to leave the day open, and let your spontaneous mischievous child inside lead the way. There’s a lure to colourful, special places like museums, food fairs and festivals and glamorous high-end boutiques. It’s a mood heightened by spectacles like parades, costume parties and children’s theme parties. There’s delight in playing make-believe under this Moon, above the mundane of life. We also have a square between the Sun and Pluto, which can have our desires clashing with our current circumstances and the demands of others. Some of us may find ourselves faces with difficult people and situations that mean we have to muster our strength and stand up for what we truly believe in. The trick here is to become centred in our own empowerment rather than in power alone. A trine between Venus and the Lunar North Node rounds up the day, making us feel a bit more comfortable in our own skin as well as within the social world around us.

SUNDAY

Today the Sun moves into a supportive trine aspect with Jupiter. According to the ancients, this is one of the most positive transits. With the Sun and Jupiter working together we are able to work in harmony with our environment radiating warmth and generosity to those around us. We get a boost to our self-esteem and confidence as a result. It’s a really good energy for situations where we need to present an idea or project and need to get other people on board. We also have a sextile between Venus and Pluto happening, a subtly powerful and uplifting time for romantic/sexual relationships because our sense of attraction is very strong. Our one on one relationships get a boost and we may find we can connect on a deeper level today.
