Week Ahead – Monday, January 28th through Sunday, February 3rd

  • Posted on January 27, 2019 at 7:30 am
Happy Sunday everyone! Here we are in the last few days of January. Today we are under the influence of a private Scorpio Moom, which is great for doing anything that requires intense focus and deep research. February brings some pleasure-loving energy with Mars moving into Taurus for 6 weeks and Chiron moves into Aries, an energy that we had a taste of last summer, This energy will be with us now until 2026. Let’s see what this last week of January and the first few days of February have in store for us!
Monday is a quiet one for the most part. We still have that Scorpio Moon energy to work with so we can tackle those tasks that need focus and research. The Moon will go Void of Course in the late evening and remain there until Tuesday afternoon when it shifts into optimistic Sagittarius. When the Moon is in Sagittarius our focus turns from inner soul searching to exploring the world around us. This lunar mood is very adventurous, active and restless for exploration. We want to experience life first hand. We want to get outdoors, see the sights, connect with nature, go places we haven’t been before. It does, however, put us in a risk-taking mood. A need to be in motion makes us very restless if we get bogged down with mundane chores. It’s a good time for speaking our truth, saying it like it is, but we also need to be careful that our words don’t come out with blunt force. The best way to enjoy and us this lunar energy is to keep it light and upbeat.
We also have the Sun in a conjunction with Mercury today, compelling us to communicate in a variety of ways. It can be a good time for taking a short trip if you feel inclined to keep to yourself and want to keep the mind busy. Some will be drawn to initiate new activities that involve sharing our ideas, teaching others, or writing. Whatever information comes our way at this time, we will surely be physically up for the challenge of sorting through it all.
Wednesday is another quiet one but we still have that Sagittarius Moon energy in play that draws us to explore our outer world. Try getting out, even if for a short break. Thursday brings a nice sextile between Saturn and Neptune, which lets us combine intuitive, higher vision with down to earth reality. This means we can put some constructive efforts into manifesting our dreams.  Enjoy this transits’ energies while they last, but keep in mind that this is a temporary influence. What feels like a permanent condition now may only be temporary and we still have to live within the boundaries of our physical reality once it passes. The Moon will go Void of Course in the late evening.
The Moon moves into Capricorn in the wee hours of the morning. With the Moon in Capricorn, we become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. This can be a very sober influence–even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the face. This lunar mood puts the focus on real-world ambitions. We might spend our time mapping out a business plan. It’s timely for considering what’s a good investment of your time, energy and resources. What will bring a solid return? Everything is viewed through a practical eye, including relationships. We can see how to make structural changes that make life more efficient.
Saturday brings us a mixed bag of energies. We have a square between Mars and Pluto to start with. This means we have some strong forces at work and the pressure is on. Power struggles could erupt now and this is not a good time to force situations that just don’t want to budge by using a “bull in a china shop” mentality. On the plus side, this transit gives us that willingness to fight back that may help with some situations that are ready for change. Then we have a trine between Venus and Uranus. This is a transit where liberation and spontaneity flood into our relationships, resources, finances, and those little pleasures we so enjoy! We feel more at ease in the company of others and an old friend may be there to give you a boost, or to try something new. It’s a time for shaking up our routines and breaking free of anything that is holding us back now.
Sunday Is a busy one. To start, we have the love planet, Venus moving into a new sign, Capricorn. In Capricorn, Venus can bring her more grounded side to the fore. Where both relationships and resources are concerned, now is the time to look at our commitments and make some new plans. We need to consider what is working and what is not and then take steps to change things or balance them out a bit more. Venus also makes a challenging square to Wounded Healer, Chiron, which can force us to make some adjustments in both our finances and relationships. So, a lot of change in those areas right now that need us to resolve some core issues. We also have a sextile between Mercury and Jupiter today, where we tend to have loads of ideas and the words needed to express them. This is a favourable influence for short trips, writing, teaching, studying, mailings, interviews, advertising and promotion, submitting applications and forms, and accurate observations.

Week Ahead – Monday, January 21st through Sunday, January 27th

  • Posted on January 20, 2019 at 7:30 am
Happy Sunday everyone! We are a week closer to the end of this month. Some of us have had some snow and the weather has certainly taken on a wintry feel. Make sure you keep yourself and loved one safe and warm! The Sun enters Aquarius today, so happy solar return to all of those Aquarians out there! We are still under the homebody vibes of a Cancer Moon today, so share time with those close to you. It’s a fairly busy week ahead, so let’s see what’s in store.
The Moon will go Void of Course in the wee hours of the morning and then move into Leo before most of us rise to start the day. It is also our Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse today. A Lunar Eclipse is a powerful Full Moon that relates to endings. There are many myths throughout many ancient cultures relating to lunar eclipses. Many people saw a Lunar eclipse as a bad omen, signalling some catastrophic events. This Lunar Eclipse takes place in Leo and will be the last in a series of Leo/Aquarius eclipses since spring of 2017. We won’t see this combo again until 2026. Aquarius wants to create a win-win environment and Leo opens us up to find creative solutions. We can use this energy to get clearheaded on where our hearts are engaged and where they are not. It will be a time for releasing the people from our lives where there is no heart connection. This will open room for new friends.
We also have a challenging square between Venus and Neptune, as well as between Mars and Saturn today. Under the Venus/Neptune square influence, we may find that those areas that Venus rules, such as relationships, resources, pleasure and money are subject to deception, confusion and wishful thinking that is unrealistic. Relationship ups and downs characterize this transit–a time when romantic mirages are more than likely. The Mars/Saturn square can bring obstacles, blockages, or opposition to our sense of freedom, our drive, and our ambitions. Excessive or wasteful endeavours and personality traits may need to be tempered now, and we may become more cautious or feel a temporary loss of enthusiasm, or even face setbacks that make us doubt our ability to win in life. It creates a sense of friction that can cause us to feel frustrated, conflicted, stressed out, and argumentative. It’s hard to feel upbeat and positive when our efforts seem to be thwarted or blocked at every turn.
We are not entirely without power under this transit, however! We can put some of that friction to use in productive ways. It allows us to manifest our goals, desire, and energy in a more concrete way. The obstacles we face now can work to strengthen us if we choose to work with them rather than struggle against them. We may even find that the detour we have been forced to take works out much better in the end than our original planned route.
Venus aligns with Jupiter in Sagittarius today, and this is a magical transit where we have the chance to fulfil our heart’s desires. It’s also considered to be a lucky transit so you might want to go get a lottery ticket just in case. If you want to see what area of your life this lucky time will effect, you will need to look at what house this conjunction is taking place in and how it relates to your own natal chart. For example, in the 11th house, it comes through your friends. In the 5th house, creativity and gambling are highlighted. In your 10th house, luck will come from your career and in your 7th house luck come from love. We also have an opposition between Mercury and the North Lunar Node later today. This transit allows us to open up and communicate our destiny if we keep things in balance.
Today will be a highly mental day. We start off with a brief Void of Course Moon in the wee hours of the morning, which will then move into practical Virgo. This is where attention towards details increases, sometimes with a tendency to fault-finding. Cleanliness and neatness are also a focus. It is a good time to undertake routine, painstaking work, and to search for and correct errors. We have a square between Mercury and Uranus that can bring us flashes of insight and clarity. However, the answers that we receive may not be what we wanted to hear as it disrupts those logical views of how things were. Its a time where news of information can come along that shakes us up, which isn’t always a bad thing. Especially if its something we needed to hear that can open us up to something we have been resisting. We also have Mercury in a sextile with the Wounded Healer, Chiron. This will bring us an opportunity to think and reflect on our pain as well as to talk about it. It’s also a transit that allows us to help others because we are able to listen and understand, to offer just the right thing to say that will help them on their own healing journey.
Today sees Mercury move into Aquarius, where it will remain for 3 weeks. Mercury in Aquarius helps us think outside of the box and helps us be more objective. This makes it the perfect time for anything that needs an analytical or sci-fi/techy approach. We may also find that we are able to see old and familiar situations in a totally different light, allowing us to have a fresher perspective on things. It’s a time where quirky meets erratic, liberation meets anarchy, and desire meets possibility so keep an eye on what is developing regarding the economy and social situations around the world. This could be the start of some changes that will set the tone for the next few months. The Moon will go Void of Course in the early afternoon.
In the early morning, the Moon moves into balancing Libra. The Moon in Libra creates this feeling of harmony and calm. We find we more easily connect with people, compromise is more likely and conflict less so. It’s a time when we find it easier to understand and relate to others. We tend to be polite and diplomatic, and would rather avoid arguments. This is a good social energy that will be with us for the weekend, but today specifically could have us feeling drawn towards embarking on a new path. Mars and Jupiter come together today that can have ideas flooding into our heads and wanting to get them out, making us chatterboxes. Make sure you keep a pen and paper with you and write down all those ideas winging through your head. The asteroid Ceres will be moving into Sagittarius later today. Ceres represents the nurturing we received in our early years as well as how we tend to nurture others. With Ceres in Sagittarius, we feel nurtured through having the freedom to explore and broaden our horizons.
Saturday is a quiet one in the skies, but we still have that sociable Libra Moon energy in play, so go out and enjoy something different, or mingle with some new faces. The Moon will go Void of Course early Sunday morning before it shifts into brooding Scorpio soon after. It’s a time where we need to be careful not to get swept away by irritability, mood-swings, hysteria, big and small excitements, and a sudden desire to quickly change everything. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it’s an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time.

Week Ahead – Monday, January 14th through Sunday, January 20th

  • Posted on January 13, 2019 at 7:30 am
Happy Sunday everyone! We are now entering the halfway point of January and I hope the first couple of weeks of this new year has been treating you all well. We have a bit of an interesting day today with some subtle energies to be aware of. Jupiter is making a challenging square to Neptune and this energy will be sticking around until September. You have Jupiter, which is ready for a bit of adventure, and Neptune with its visionary energy, all pulling us between wanting to open up our vision to our belief system and not quite knowing what that vision actually is or how to bring that into the mundane world. So, our challenge is to expand our belief system in 2019 in order to bring a higher vision into the world. We also have Mercury aligning with Saturn today, which has been bringing an energy that we have probably been feeling all week. This energy wants us to get organized with our long term plans. Now, let’s have a look at what this week has in store for us!
Our day starts with a sextile between Mercury and Neptune, so pay attention to those dreams, because Neptune opens up our spiritual side. It’s a very creative energy, where our ideas seem to flow magically and it makes it a great time for literary and artistic projects. We do need to take care, however, because it can be all too easy to get caught up in fantasizing and yearning for our hidden wishes. Mainly, this is a good time for creativity, optimism, intuition and hope. We just need to make sure that we stay grounded. Mid-afternoon brings a Void of Course Moon that will be with us until early evening. The Moon then moves into earth Taurus, where we are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace, and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulses are to relax, resist change, and “stop to smell the roses”. Life slows down a little, and we get comfortable. We may also be inclined to stubbornness and materialism under this influence. This energy does help us get into the vibe of work though for the next couple of days. It’s an excellent time to be in the studio or with your musical instrument.
Tuesday is a quiet one in the skies, but we still have that Taurus Moon energy to work with. On Wednesday we have an opposition between the Sun and the North Lunar Node today, which can help us see situations that could help us become more aware of our old habits, patterns, and attitudes. This particular transit is under the influence of Capricorn and Cancer, so the focus is on supporting family vs. supporting a business structure. In the early evening, the Moon will go Void of Course until after midnight.
In the wee hours of the morning, the Moon moves into Gemini, where sociability, cheerfulness and quick-wittedness are on the increase, and there is an interest in all kinds of information. The Moon in Gemini favours study, intellectual pursuits, acquaintances, conferences and gatherings. However, heightened changeability and a scattering of our interests can prevent us from getting definite, tangible results. It’s a good time for experimentation, perhaps mashing up our personal style. We might change our outfits many times, or coax out one of our lesser-known personalities. Watch out for the appearance of the evil twin, who utters things that you don’t really mean, just to say them. There may be no rhyme or reason for behaviour-thoughts-feelings for the next couple of days, and it’s all okay.
Today is a good one for communicating in all types of relationships with a trine between Venus and Mars, which brings the perfect energy for those situations where firm action is needed but with a gentler touch. Life does seem to flow easier at this time but don’t let that put you off your guard because it will only last a few days. Since this transit can assist us in getting what we want right now, we need to be careful as we try to identify what exactly it is that we want. This transit brings a sensual energy, a time to be loved and to love back. We also have a conjunction between Mercury and Pluto happening later today, making our thoughts, ideas, and communications more focused and intense. However, we need to be careful that we are not looking for issues where there may not be any! Lastly is a sextile between the Sun and Chiron, bringing us the opportunity to mend and heal any chronic struggles we are facing in our lives.
The Moon will go Void of Course in the wee hours of the morning before we feel the restlessness of the Gemini Moon giving way to an instinctive need for peace and quiet as the Moon moves into Cancer a couple of hours later. This brings a great energy for sharing a meal with those in our close inner circle. The Cancer Moon tends to bring an increase in emotions, vulnerability and touchiness. Our need for seclusion can become quite strong, bringing a desire to communicate only with those closest to us. It’s not a good idea to deal with large groups of people during this time. We may also have a strong desire to care for others or have others look after us. We also have a challenging square between the Sun and Uranus today, which means we may experience some shake-ups because the Universe thinks things need to be a bit more interesting. This can be a good energy for helping us see where we have become stuck in situations that are keeping us from moving forward in some way.
Today the Sun makes it’s move into Aquarius, so Happy Solar Return to all of you Aquarians out there! When the Sun is in Aquarius, mental agility and socializing are the keywords. Aquarius turns the focus outwards, to the bigger picture, the collective unconscious, and our roles in it all. So it makes it a great time for bringing people together to work on issues that are beyond the individual, that touch us as a society. Use this time to turn your thoughts and energies outward.

Week Ahead – Monday, January 7th through Sunday, January 13th

  • Posted on January 6, 2019 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! What an exciting start to our first few days of the New Year with yesterday’s solar eclipse! And today we have freedom loving Uranus ending his retrograde cycle, which he has been in since August of last year. It may have some of us feeling that we are ready for something fresh. With that in mind, let’s see how this week will play out for us.

Our Monday morning starts off with a very brief Void of Course Moon that quickly moves into Aquarius. this is a good energy for group activities. It also brings that impulse to break out of claustrophobic situations and relationships. We also have love and money planet, Venus entering adventurous Sagittarius today. She will be there until early February and this energy will add to that feeling that its time for us to take a risk on ourselves in order to manifest what we need and desire.

On Tuesday we have a bit of a mental challenge with Mercury and Mars squaring off. Don’t drive too fast and don’t force your ideas on others, a rule of thumb for this one. It can be a time of hot debates, fiery speech and lots of arguments. One of the things we need to watch out for here is that we may have a really short fuse, as will others around us. We can get through this one by keeping a tight rein on our judgment and objectivity when having verbal duels. We can tap into this energy and use it to fan the flames of motivation or take our ideas and use them to generate some positive and constructive action.

Wednesday afternoon sees the Moon move into Pisces. When the Moon is in Pisces, we swim in imaginative currents that go beyond the normal limits of space and time. It’s a mood when symbols, music, and images convey the messages of the soul. This happens through art, dance, film, photography, theatre, and play. A gesture or wise look tells another what words can’t. We’re wrapped up in the mystery that has infinite meaning, and never try to grasp too tightly to its form. It’s a great time to nourish the imagination. On a negative side, it can be harder to deal with the harsher aspects of reality during these lunar days. We may escape with one more drink, or “check out” in front of the television. It’s easy to coast through the day when you’re dreamy or “lost.” It helps to have some creative focus, in order not to flounder in the sign of the Fishes.

Thursday is a quiet one for us, but we still have that mystical Pisces energy in play to work with. Friday brings another challenge our way when the Sun and Pluto align. Bear in mind that this energy was recently part of the new moon/solar eclipse that we have been feeling for a few days. This transit wants us to stand in our own power and release that which is part of your past. We have a Void of Course Moon in the early afternoon that may have us feeling low key.

Saturday morning sees the Moon start its shift from dreamy and diffused Pisces to fired up Aries. Some may actually feel this shift more than others. An Aries Moon tends to bring conflict more than most times, with emotional tensions growing, people becoming short-tempered and impulsive. Its a good day for getting ourselves moving, getting the blood circulating, and burning off that extra energy that can leave some feeling anxious and restless.  As we enter this phase of emotional directness and impulsiveness, one marked by forceful and powerful feelings, we tend to gravitate towards emotional beginnings, a fresh start, perhaps the establishment of new habit patterns – so make sure they’re good ones, because they’ll set the tone for you for quite some time to come!

Sunday starts us off with a conjunction between Mercury and Saturn. Under this transit, we find a need to analyze what is essential in our lives as our main focus. Many will feel an enhancement in their abilities to focus and concentrate so this is a good vibe to work with if you have studying to do for tests. Some may also feel more drawn to solitude under this transit to allow themselves some time and space in order to work and think. We also have a challenging square between Jupiter and Neptune, a transit that can bring us a test of our faith that is usually down to some kind of embarrassing loss of face or a disappointment. This is a bad time for being overly optimistic as well. Things to avoid are get-rich-quick schemes, gambling, drugs, gurus, and anything that seems too good to be true. It’s normal at this time to feel suspicious and paranoid, so it may be best to rely on advice given from trusted friends and family.
