Week Ahead – Monday, August 13th through Sunday, August 19th

  • Posted on August 12, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone. Well, it looks like our summer heatwave is over here in the UK, and we are back to our normal chilly August temperatures. We have the Perseid Meteor shower going on right now, so I’m hoping the skies are clear enough to catch some “fireworks”. Today we are under the influence of a practical Virgo Moon, which can be useful in taking care of those little tasks like organizing things, tidying, and looking after ourselves. Now, let’s see what this new week has in store for us.

MONDAY

On Monday, Retrograde Mars moves into Capricorn, where he will remain until the 27th when he turns direct once more. Mars stays in Capricorn until mid-September and feels quite at home in this sign. It brings a persistent and forceful energy that can help us in finding the motivation to get things sorted or give us that last little push we need. For most of the summer, Mars Retrograde has been in Aquarius having us review our higher ideals. Now we need to look at which of those ideals can be brought down to earth to use practically as we move into the months ahead. Creating a plan of action for the coming change of season is a good start to make with this energy.

TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY

The Moon goes Void of Course in the early hours of Tuesday morning, but only for a very brief few minutes. It then moves into the balancing and social sign of Libra, making the next two days a bit smoother going. The focus is on partnerships of all kinds. We may find an idea appears that helps bring balance to a situation or has the potential to. These are power days for speeches, and offering your big idea. It’s also the right mood to make amends or compromise. Creating order is also the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY

As we begin our Thursday morning the Moon will be going Void of Course briefly before moving into Scorpio, taking our thoughts to a more private level. Because of its intensity, this can be an emotionally difficult time for some. Negative aspects like jealousy, greediness, envy and other negative feelings increase under Scorpios influence. However, it is a good time for any work which needs intensity and total devotion. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it’s an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. This energy will be with us into Friday as well. Friday looks like its a quiet one in the skies otherwise.

WEEKEND

SATURDAY

Saturday sees Mercury beginning to slow down as it nears the end of its retrograde cycle. Make sure you allow yourselves extra time, be flexible to any changes in your schedule, and try to postpone any important conversations for a few more days when Mercury starts moving forward again. Mercury and Venus join together in a beneficial sextile today, which brings us the possibility of benefiting from our social connections, a more open awareness, and harmonious communication. It doesn’t mean that it will all just fall into our laps though! We still need a bit of effort to make all of this happen. The Moon goes Void of Course on Saturday afternoon
for a brief stint, then moves into the more upbeat sign of Sagittarius. Our focus turns from inner soul searching to exploring the world around us now. This lunar mood is very adventurous, active and restless for exploration. We want to experience life first hand. we want to get outdoors, see the sights, connect with nature, go places we haven’t been before. Tap into this fun energy this weekend and do some exploring, whether it’s in a new town or in your own neighborhood.

SUNDAY

Today is the day Mercury begins its forward motion once more. For up to a week before and after today, you may experience mental intensity, confusion, and miscommunication or changes in your outlook. Mercury has spent its retrograde cycle in Leo, so was focused on reorientation around Leo themes, such as creativity, heart-centered self-expression, how we influence others through communication and letting love radiate from within. However, this energy can manifest as being demanding of attention and/or respect, being egotistical and dramatic. So we need to look at these areas that may have undergone changes and shifts. With Mercury beginning its forward motion once more, we can start to implement those new plans, tweaks, and ideas. Things will start out a bit slowly, but ramp up as we move into the next 2 weeks. We also have a trine between Jupiter and Neptune today, which surrounds us with a supportive and sympathetic atmosphere. Under this transit, we can gain a much broader understanding of who we are. This is a time for expressing our visions artistically or employing our inner senses to make meaningful what is often not logical, freeing us from the constraints of an excessively controlled environment.

Week Ahead – Monday, August 6th through Sunday, August 12th

  • Posted on August 5, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We have a pleasant energy in play today with the Moon in Taurus, making it a good one for sharing. This first week of August is pretty favourable, with just one minor hiccup when Uranus turns retrograde. Let’s have a look at what this week has in store!

MONDAY

Monday begins with a brief Void of Course Moon in the wee hours that then moves into Gemini shortly after. This brings a social energy our way and brings out our curious nature. There is a rise in cheerfulness and quick-wittedness, and we tend to be interested in all kinds of things. The Moon in Gemini favours study, intellectual pursuits, acquaintances, conferences and gatherings. However, heightened changeability and scattering your interests can prevent you from getting definite, tangible results right now, and we need to take care that we don’t fall under influences that may lead to the danger of getting off course and making mistakes. Venus enters one of her favourite signs today, Libra. She will remain there until the first part of September. So the next 4 weeks focus on improving our existing relationships, as well as exploring new ones. We also have a square between the Sun and Jupiter, making us feel more enthusiastic and upbeat. What’s so challenging about that, you ask? Well, we run the risk of reaching far beyond our means or seeing things in an unrealistic light. It’s easy to overestimate the results we are envisioning die to this upbeat and optimistic vibe. We may also underestimate just how much work is needed for a certain project or goal. Try to keep it balanced and real.

TUESDAY

Tuesday begins with a morning Void of Course Moon that will be with us until Wednesday morning. We have Venus and Mars in a harmonious trine today, which adds to that favourable relationship energy. Life does seem to flow easier at this time but don’t let that put you off your guard because it will only last a few days. Since this transit can assist us in getting what we want right now, we need to be careful as we try to identify what exactly it is that we want. This transit brings a sensual energy, a time to be loved and to love back. We also have Uranus turning Retrograde today, and this long retrograde cycle lasts until January of 2019. Uranus going retrograde is often a turning point in situations involving issues of spontaneity, freedom, breaking free of old patterns, rebellion and expressing your personal uniqueness. So this is where your focus will be until the start of 2019 when you can begin your own personal revolution. Be flexible to changes!

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday has a lot going on, beginning with the Moon moving into Cancer, a sign that brings a lot of potential for healing. We tend to want to be homebodies now and only communicate with those we are closest too. Venus makes an opposition to Chiron as well today, making us feel even more sensitive to the struggles of others, and where our issues with love and money come to a head, even undergoing a crisis. On a positive note, many may find that we are finally able to reach a new level of peace and acceptance of ourselves. Adding to this is a conjunction between the Sun and mercury, which is still in retrograde. So, we feel we have a lot to talk about. Its ok to talk about future projects now but don’t set anything in stone until after the 18th, when Mercury starts moving forward again.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY

We have some minor challenges going on to our philosophy and values, and this isn’t a good time for pushing things forward where new projects are concerned. The Moon goes Void of Course just after Noon on Thursday, and we have a square between Venus and Saturn. This transit can make it feel difficult to relate to others and we may feel unappreciated, unloved, or unwanted. Some emotional distance in relationships is likely for the time being but try not to read too much into situations, particularly social and romantic circumstances. This transit is best used for reflection. On Friday morning the Moon moves into heart opening Leo, bringing with it some energy and optimism. This is a good time to perform and appear on stage, to play, create and do everything which inspires you and lets you express your inner self.

WEEKEND

Saturday starts off with a Void of Course Moon, while at the same time entering its New lunation. This is also the second solar eclipse of the summer. We have a lot of fixed signs in play (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio), which have the ability to persevere and be strong through difficult situations. However, they also have lessons to teach us where knowing when to adapt or let go is concerned. Retrograde Mercury also makes a square with Jupiter today, bringing information overload and making it easy to neglect or miss important details. It’s a good opportunity to learn something about how we jump to conclusions or place blame, especially if a situation triggers something that challenges our beliefs.

Sunday begins with an early morning Virgo Moon, so our focus turns to practical tasks and dealing with clutter. Health matters might come into focus under Virgo’s energy too, as we become more sensitive and vulnerable, especially in areas of the body like the intestines and lower abdomen. In this mutable earth sign of Virgo, the mood is geared toward busy productivity and adjusting with minor tweaks here and there. It favours clearing, refining, purging, detoxing and organizing. It also favours launching self-improvement schemes. We also have Venus sextile the North Lunar Node, which brings us a sense of well-being and optimism where love and finances are concerned.
