What’s New This Month

Blessed Lughnasadh everyone! The second half of the year is getting into full swing and I can’t believe how quickly it has all gone by so far! With this being a major time of year for going away, having the kids out of school, or having to pick up the slack at work while others are off, schedules can feel a bit out of balance as we re-adjust our routines to work around it all.

Now is a good time to reflect on the seeds we planted earlier this year and see if these have bourn the fruit we have hoped. From there you can determine if changes need to be made or if you can harvest what has grown and use that to grow something new or stronger in the coming months.

The special Lammas/Lughnasadh tarot reading is on offer in the  Monthly Specials section this month along with a few other inspirational readings to help bring balance into your life. Many of you will be travelling now so I have a special reading just for you as well! There is also a Spiritual Journey and the Fool’s Journey readings for those who are looking to start off in a new direction. So be sure to stop by and have a look at the August Specials! You can have a browse through the many specialized readings I offer on the  Tarot Readings page.  Tarot’s Life Path & Personal Growth section is a good place to start!  Or take a wander through the various Oracle readings on my site, like Rune, Angel, Faery and Animal Totem readings.  All of these categories can be found on the main Reading Room page.  Don’t forget to check out the other areas on the Readings page, like the Oracles, Rune and Animal Medicine Cards sections.

If you have a website or blog that you need some creative content writing for, I offer my services as a freelance writer. You can check out my basic prices at Faery Scribe. I’ve written for several sites, such as Natural News, Jules of the Earth, Hirewriters and a number of private clients.

If you’re looking for some unique handcrafted items, come visit,  Faery Trinkets where I will have my Barefoot Sandals, bracelets, earrings, necklaces and crochet items on display for sale. I’ll be adding some crocheted items as well soon, and you can also find these items in my Etsy shop.
In the Reiki/Energy Work section you can find reiki and energy work to help give you a bit of a boost. You can find Reiki sessions, Chakra Healing and Attunements, Violet Flame healing, and the Avalon Crown of Success healing. Reiki is great for flushing out the old energies that may be lingering both in our own energetic bodies and the environment around us.

If Astrology is your cup of tea be sure to stop by my Astrology section where you can order some insightful Natal charts, Compatibility reports and Transit reports to see what will be affecting you in the months ahead. These charts are a great gift for birthdays or just as a special way to treat someone to a bit of astrological insight.

Come and check out my Blog that at http://earthspirittarot.com/wp/   I hope to be writing on a variety of topics from Tarot to general spirituality topics once we get into the New Year.  But for now you can catch my weekly Astrology updates there.

Week Ahead – Monday, July 30th through Sunday, August 5th

  • Posted on July 29, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We are in the last few days of July and getting ready to move into August. August brings the next to last Solar Eclipse, Mercury will be retrograde until mid-month, and we have the Pagan celebration of Lughnassadh (Lammas), or the first grain harvest, where the harvest was gathered and thanks were given for abundance. Today is a good one for laying low or spending some time near water because we have a Void of Course Moon in play. Without further ado, let’s see what this week has in store for us.

In the wee hours of Monday morning, the Moon moves into Pisces. A Pisces Moon can bring about feelings of romance, heightened intuition, mystical and dreamy moods, and an interest in the unknown, religion and all that is magical. We tend to become softer, sentimental and more tender, speaking words of kindness and complimenting those we love. It’s a good energy for spiritual practices and compassionate activities and gestures. Tuesday is a quiet day with the Moon going Void of Course just before midnight.

Lughnassadh Blessings! The first day of August starts us off with the Moon shifting from dreamy and diffused Pisces to fired up Aries in the wee hours. Some may actually feel this shift more than others. An Aries Moon tends to bring conflict more than most times, with emotional tensions growing, people becoming short-tempered and impulsive. It’s a great time to have an opening for an art show, a business, or to sell your house. It supports you if you’ve got to be dynamic, for a job interview or on a date. You can go ahead and start that project or try to sell your idea to others. Quick short activities are favoured, rather than doing any tedious footwork. You can encourage a friend, work on self-promotion materials, or throw a party. We also have a challenging square between impatient Mars and unpredictable and explosive Uranus, oh my! Some really erratic action and unpredictable impulses can surface under this transits energy. Unconscious and suppressed emotions like anger, frustration, and fear are all bubbling away under the surface and can pop up when we least expect it. It’s also a time when we are more accident prone. This energy can help us to release inhibitions, and find the courage to propel forward or break free from old habits and cycles. The problem here is that there is no real guarantee that our actions won’t turn out to be destructive and counter productive. We may feel tempted to take bigger risks now which can break us out of a rut if used wisely. It’s important to use your best judgement when faced with this kind of potent yet volatile energy.

Friday starts off with an early morning Void of Course Moon that will be with us for most of the day and evening. A couple of hours before midnight the Moon will move into earthy Taurus where we will feel the tension of the past few days start to drop away. People tend to become calmer and peaceful under Taurus. We feel secure and stable. There is also this tendency for our thoughts and reactions to slow down, making us feel a bit slow in getting ourselves going. This is the best time for taking care of the home, running errands, restocking supplies and tending to routine maintenance. Its best to hold off on important business now, as well as the signing of contracts or important papers, because we may make mistakes due to a slowed down reaction and thinking process. We also have a sextile between Mars and Chiron, where words, scalpels, knives, and words can all be used with pinpoint accuracy and dexterity. It brings us a chance to take action that can bring about some healing resolutions to long-standing, ongoing problems you have been dealing with.

The weekend is a pretty quiet one all around. We have that Taurus energy to play with, so the focus is on the home, comforts, and delving into all of our 5 senses. Use this weekend to rest up because the coming week sees things pick up speed a bit!

Week Ahead – Monday, July 23rd through Sunday, July 29th

  • Posted on July 22, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! Here we are on the last week of July already, and its a fiery start with the Sun moving into Leo and the Moon moving into Sagittarius. We don’t want to do boring things under these influences so use the day to have an adventure or do something creative and playful! Let’s have a look at what this week has in store for us!

Monday is a quiet one for us, but we still have that Leo and Sagittarius energy to work with. Some of us may feel a bit restless if we are stuck doing hum drum and boring tasks today. Try to add a bit of playful fun to your routine if you can. Tuesday morning starts us off with a Void of Course Moon that will be in play until the late evening. The day may feel a bit spacey as well due to an opposition between Venus and Neptune. It can be a tricky transit because we can be more prone to getting lost in our daydreams. It’s not a good day for making any big decisions, big or important purchases, starting new relationships, or signing contracts and financial agreements until this rose coloured veil lifts. In the late evening, the Moon moves into the more practical sign of Capricorn, a lunar mood that puts the focus on real-world ambitions and lets us make structural changes that make life more efficient.

Wednesday brings us a trine between the Sun and Chiron, and a square between the Sun and Uranus. The Sun/Chiron aspect helps us to see any recent efforts we have been making to mend and heal the chronic struggles in our lives. It gives us the confidence we need to try out new solutions or see different angles to these issues. The Sun/Uranus aspect is challenging in that it can bring us some shake-ups as the Universe decides its time for change and time to make things a bit more “interesting.” This is our wake-up call folks and it is designed to loosen us up from old habits and cycles that keep us stuck or inhibited in life.

Today is the day Mercury starts it backwards motion and this cycle will be around for about 3 weeks, ending on August 19th. For nearly a week before and a week after today, Mercury will be moving at a snail’s pace or pausing entirely. At this time we can experience confusion, intensity, frustration, lots of miscommunication or we may feel we are getting bogged down with any progress we were making. It’s not all bad though! This is a great time for doing research, fact-finding, investigative work and anything else necessary to prepare us for major decisions, which we can put into play after this retrograde cycle. Mid-afternoon sees the Moon go Void of Course.

Friday sees the Moon move into Aquarius just before noon, and then the Moon enters its Full lunation in the early evening. This is also a lunar eclipse and its a bit of a complicated one. Our emotional Moon is aligned with warrior planet Mars, which has been moving through its retrograde cycle, as well as with Mercury, which also just started its retrograde cycle. We need to give ourselves a bit of time to examine where our heart is engaged and where in our lives we feel we are just going through the emotions. Our focus needs to be on doing more of what engages, opens and nurtures our hearts, and less of the things that no longer hold value for us. We have an opposition between the Sun and Mars, making it a time where we need to pause and ask ourselves what we have been investing our time and energy in over the past six weeks of Mar’s retrograde cycle. Use these next few weeks to check over your plans, kick the tires, make sure all of your t’s are crossed and I’s dotted. It’s all about honing things and buffing the sharp edges. We also have a trine between Venus and Pluto, so if you have been wanting to deepen or renew a previous commitment in a relationship, now is a good time to do so.

Our weekend is fairly quiet, We do have a conjunction between the Sun and the Lunar North Node. When the Sun dances with the North Lunar Node it is usually seen as a favourable energy where we are more likely to have important or prominent people coming into our lives. For a couple of days before and after this aspect, we will notice that our sense of self-purpose is much sharper and in better focus. Transits are never without a challenging side though and with the Sun conjunct the North Node we are challenged to discover and fulfil our potential in a much broader context. Take a step back and look at your vision of your future on both a personal level and a wider level.  Something to take note of is that New and Full Moons that occur just before and after this transit are usually Eclipses. It can be helpful to check if these Eclipses are forming any major aspects in your own natal chart. It will help show us the direction of things for the next few months. This Sun/North Node transit will help us to focus on those changes ahead. Sunday morning brings a Void of Course Moon that will be with us for the entirety of Sunday.

Week Ahead – Monday, July 16th through Sunday, July 22nd

  • Posted on July 15, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday all! We are entering July’s halfway point and this week looks a bit easier for us astrologically. We had our Cancer Solar Eclipse, the 2nd of the season, on Thursday/Friday, which challenges us to summon and use our passions, drive, determination and integrity in the weeks ahead. This season is a bit different because rather than having the usual two eclipses (one solar and one lunar) we have 3! This recent Solar eclipse, an Aquarius Lunar Eclipse on the 27th, and a Leo Solar Eclipse on August 11th. So what doe this mean for us? The usual intensity and power we get during the eclipse season will be around for 4 weeks as opposed to the usual 2 weeks. This Solar Eclipse a few days ago was also a Cancer New Moon, which has brought into focus issues that are linked to Cancer, like our needs, feelings, sense of belonging, family, home, ancestry, nurturing, security and the archetypical female. So it has started a 4-week process where we can closely work with these areas in our life in some way to bring about transformation. Use it wisely! Now let’s see what this week has in store for us.

Monday is a quiet one in the skies, but we do still have the energy of the Virgo Moon with us helping us to work through our to-do lists. Tuesday brings a Void of Course Moon just before noon, which lasts until the late evening when the Moon moves into the more social sign of Libra. A Libra Moon creates a feeling of harmony and calm and is great for social activities. This will be with us till about Thursday. Wednesday is also a quiet one in the skies, so we have a pretty chilled first half of the week.

Thursday is another quiet one, but we do have a Void of Course Moon in the late evening. The energy starts to shift now and we are pushed to get things moving. The early hours of Friday sees the Moon shift into Scorpio. This will bring us a couple of days where we need to be careful not to get swept away by irritability, mood-swings, hysteria, big and small excitements, and a sudden desire to quickly change everything. People tend to become more conscious of self and others and see everything in dark tones with the Moon in Scorpio. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it’s an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. We also have Mars retrograde in a conjunction with the South Lunar Node. where we need to be careful not to fall back into old habits and routines we were trying to break away from.

Saturday is another quiet one for us. Sunday sees the Sun move into a new sign, so Happy Solar Return to all of you Leo’s out there! The Sun moving into its very own sign means that its radiant vibes will be extra bright now. While this is particularly strong for Leo’s it can affect all signs as well. Leo brings the focus toward our individuality, our sense of identity, our creativity, self-esteem and self-expression. And Leo is fun! It wants to let our inner child out to play! The morning sees the Moon going Void of Course briefly and then moving into upbeat Sagittarius, where our focus turns from inward to outward. This lunar mood is very adventurous, active and restless for exploration. We want to experience life first hand. we want to get outdoors, see the sights, connect with nature, go places we haven’t been before. So let yourself explore! We also have a sextile between Venus and Jupiter, bringing an abundance of creative inspiration, material enjoyment and some feel-good pleasure in the air. This, coupled with Sagittarius’ energy means we need to be careful of overindulging.

Week Ahead – Monday, July 9th through Sunday, July 15th

  • Posted on July 8, 2018 at 7:30 am
Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you’ve all been enjoying your weekend so far. For today, we have a trine between the Sun and Neptune, which brings us a gentle combo that is good for spiritual activities, focusing on our dreams, or just having a leisurely day before we get into the coming week, which is going to be a busy one! So. let’s see what we have in store.
Monday starts off with a square between Mercury and Jupiter, which means communication and travel can be a bit challenging. We get information overload with this one, which means we could miss important details. Allow yourself some extra time today for travel and making any decisions. We have a brief Void of Course Moon in the late afternoon and then the Moon moves into Gemini. When the Moon is in Gemini we become active, feel stronger emotional sensitivity and a need for socializing. We also have the tendency to fall under influences that can lead to the danger of getting off course and making mistakes. We tend to buy things that we don’t really need, waste time with contacts that are futile and visit unnecessary places and events. Emotions may become amplified but shallow. We may easily meet new people now, however half of the contacts we make will later turn out to be empty. Some of us will try to do everything all at once, which later leaves us stuck with unfinished projects and ideas. It is a good time, however, to be on the move, travelling short distances in order to fulfil that need for new impressions, and meeting up with friends and relative.
Today, Jupiter ends it’s backwards retrograde cycle that began in early March. So, in the weeks ahead we will be able to put constructive effort into those expansive new projects we’ve been waiting on. Just keep in mind that this forward movement is a slow one and we probably won’t see the traction we need to move these projects forward until about September. Venus moves into Virgo today as well, which isn’t always an easy combo if we have people in our lives that are overly critical. It is a good energy though for working on home/office/sacred area beautification. We can accomplish a great deal during Venus in Virgo. The Moon will go Void of Course in the later part of the evening and remain there until late afternoon on Wednesday.
Today we have a liberating and spontaneous trine between Venus and Uranus, which affects our relationships, resources, finances, and those little pleasures we so enjoy! It’s a good vibe for breaking out of our routines and meeting up with friends. This brings a chance to meet unusual and eccentric people that could broaden our views of the world around us.  One thing we do need to be careful of, however, is that we could spend impulsively beyond our budget, or become reckless in our relationships and social interactions. The Moon moves into Cancer in the early evening, which can make us want to retreat, to refill the well and recharge.
Thursday brings us an opposition between the Sun and Pluto, a bit of a rocky road for the Sun to travel. It’s a transit that can foster mistrust and power struggles. There is an upside to this though. It can awaken our creativity and consciousness which will allow us to tap into this potent and transformational energy. Be aware of manipulative behaviour and global power struggles that could erupt during this time.  Many will feel that their sense of purpose has been rattled, causing them to feel unsettled. Keep in mind that a bit of room is just being cleared in order to make way for new growth and possibilities. This is the time for breaking free of old habits and restrictions. Just remember that it could create a mess that we will have to clean up later on.
In the wee hours of the morning begins our New Moon/Solar Eclipse and this is the first of three eclipses for this summer. The Moon enters its New lunation in Cancer and then quickly goes Void of Course in the wee hours of the morning. It remains VOC until the early evening when it makes its move into Leo.   A Solar Eclipse is said to be extremely powerful New Moons that herald significant and powerful endings and beginnings in our lives. It’s not uncommon for events, that are triggered by an eclipse, to take up to six months to unfold. This is good because it is a process of change like a flower opening up or a butterfly transforming, rather than a lightning bolt of destruction that tears it all down for us!  Pay attention to your emotional needs and self-nurturing now. This New Moon/Eclipse can also bring up issues with family, children, and nutrition. The Moon moves into Leo in the early evening will set a social and fun tone for the weekend.
Saturday brings us a trine between Venus and Saturn, whose characteristics are about stability in both relationships and finances. It’s a good energy to have those serious relationship talks now. We may also find it easier to focus on projects that are creative in nature under this transit. Our self-worth can also benefit from this transits’ energy because we tend to be less inclined in giving in to mood swings. However, if you are prone to bouts of depression, you may want to be cautious about becoming so stable and grounded that you lose touch with your sense of potential and hope. This is a good transit for making concrete progress in matters that involve love, balance, beauty and harmony.
In the wee hours of Sunday morning, the Moon will go Void of Course and remain that way until the early evening, when it moves into Virgo. In this mutable earth sign of Virgo, the mood is geared toward busy productivity and adjusting with minor tweaks here and there. It favours clearing, refining, purging, detoxing and organizing. It also favours launching self-improvement schemes. So the latter part of Sunday may be good for a bit of a de-clutter to make room and let some fresh energy flow in.

Week Ahead – Monday, July 2nd through Sunday, July 8th

  • Posted on July 1, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! Here we are beginning a new month and entering the 2nd half of 2018. Today we are under the influence of an Aquarius Moon, which is a good vibe for light socializing and getting connected with others. Adding to this are the trine between Mercury and Chiron, and the square between Mercury and Uranus. So we can expect some flashes of insight, maybe a bit of the unexpected, and a chance to heal through communication. Now, let’s see what this new week has in store for us. MONDAY As we start our morning we will be under…
