Week Ahead – Monday, June 25th through Sunday, July 1st

  • Posted on June 24, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We are heading into the last week of June and this month seems to have flown by! Today, we are under the influence of a Void of Course Moon, which makes it a good one for keeping a low profile and tending to those humble, quiet tasks. Try to have a chilled out day if you can! Let’s see what this week has in store for us.

Monday starts us off with the Moon moving into Sagittarius in the early morning, which can bring us a sense of peace, stability, calm and order. We don’t mind following the routines and the rule so much, and this energy can see an increase in our interest in our social lives. It’s an optimistic vibe but we do need to be careful that we don’t over-commit ourselves. Adding to this is a challenging square between Venus and Jupiter. This is a transit that pushes us to want to take pleasure in doing things in a very big way. So we see more generosity now and this, added to the Sagittarius energy, is where we need to be careful with spending our money now. Don’t let the budget go out the window!

Today is the day the Mars begins its retrograde cycle. Mars has been slowing down for a few weeks now and this retrograde cycle will last until the end of August. Mars represents our actions, assertiveness and ambition. It will start its retrograde at 10 degrees Aquarius and will move backwards to 28 degrees Capricorn. People who have natal planets in those degrees will feel this retrograde energy more. This retrograde cycle means its time to look at our ambitions and determine if we need to make any adjustments. Since Aquarius is associated with friends, groups and organizations, it can be a good time for connecting with old friends or reaching out to explore new groups. The Moon will also go Void of Course in the early afternoon and remain there for the remainder of the day and evening.

The Moon enters Capricorn on Wednesday afternoon, as it gets ready for its Full lunation tomorrow (BST). Capricorn tends to decrease our emotional charge, which can make it easier to focus on our responsibilities a bit more fully. These days are great for pushing past difficult obstacles. We’ve got extra discipline and patience. And we’re able to forgo the satisfaction of short-term gains for longer-term achievements. use this for the next couple of days to get those important jobs done. We also have an opposition between the Sun and Saturn today, and this can feel quite draining for many, making us feel a bit weighed down and somewhat less than optimistic about any challenges or blockages we are facing that delay our progress. This can feel like a really low point for us but we need to remember that these things are now happening for a reason. It’s not all bad though! Many will find they are finally able to move forward on a goal or project, especially with the help of our Capricorn Moon.

Just after Noon today the Moon will enter its Full lunation. This Full Moon brings mixed energies our way. We have Warrior planet Mars having just turned retrograde, which can have us pulling back for a bit or recharging. Then we have the Sun in Cancer that wants us to draw us out in order to raise the nurturing energy in our lives. But then there’s that Capricorn Moon energy, which is now aligned with disciplined Saturn, pushing us to take care of business stuff. Meanwhile, the Sun is moving into a harmonious aspect with Jupiter, which pushes us to open ourselves up to a new and much larger expression of our spirit. While we are being pushed and pulled by these energies, the Full Moon is now setting us up for 3 eclipses that will begin next month. So how do we deal with all of this crazy energy? Well, rather than trying to bring balance to all of these contradicting energies, we can try to allow them to show us some different aspects of our lives and our future goals. it’s ok if some areas in your life are a bit out of whack or messy right now because these things will shift by the end of the summer. Allow yourself and the Universe to help you readjust.

Our morning starts with a Void of Course Moon as we begin the workday. We have asteroid Ceres moving into Virgo right now, which allows us to focus on nurturing through the services we provide for others, and teaching those around us how to nurture themselves and others. We also have communications planet Mercury moving into Leo today, and because it turns retrograde on July 25th, it will be in this sign a bit longer than usual. So use this energy to make time to play over the summer. Let yourself be creative and have a good look at where your heart is engaged, or not in some cases. Its a time for thinking positively and showing enthusiasm. By doing this we can inspire others around us to keep going even when the going gets tough. It’s a time for enjoying the playful delights that life has to offer us through games, humour, fun and children (or allowing ourselves to see through the eyes of children.)

The Moon moves into Aquarius in the early hours of Saturday morning, making it a great energy for social activities. The Moon in Aquarius can bring blessed relief from too much emoting. It allows us the distance to see the big picture. The mood takes us down tangents of thought or brings exciting flash ideas. It’s a great time for tuning into the collective currents. It favours social networking via the net or experimenting with other technologies that keep you connected. It’s time for embracing the new, the futuristic and innovative. We also have Mercury in a square with Uranus, where we can experience some flashes of insight that bring fresh clarity our way. Mercury will also be trine Chiron, which can open up the doors to positive and healing communication with those around us. its a more nurturing and thoughtful vibe that can bring people closer through understanding. Just before midnight on Sunday the Moon will be in its quiet Void of Course stage.

Week Ahead – Monday, June 18th through Sunday, June 24th

  • Posted on June 17, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone, and Happy Father’s Day to all of you Dads out there! We have a good energy for Father’s Day with the Moon being in paternal Leo right now. This brings an open-hearted, warm, generous and emotional energy. Enjoy your day with those you call Dad, or with the kids that look up to you as theirs :D. We are entering the second half of June now, with the Summer Solstice happening this week. Let’s take a look at what this week will be bringing our way.

Monday brings us a more complicated energy because we have the Moon moving into Virgo in the morning, giving us a list of tasks that we want to accomplish. At the same time, we have dream planet Neptune in Pisces going retrograde, which is the total opposite of Virgo. Neptune has a strong spiritual energy that just wants to daydream. The good part is that this will start a process of opening up to a higher vision, trusting our intuition at a higher level, and helping us to practice forgiveness (for others and ourselves). Neptune will be retrograde until the end of November.

Tuesday brings a bit more of an enthusiastic vibe because Mercury will be making a harmonious trine with Jupiter. Under this transit we may find ourselves more talkative, filled with more ideas and wanting to share these with others. It’s a really good time for stepping back in order to get a broader overview of projects we are working on, especially business-related ones. We also have love planet, Venus, making a conjunction with the Lunar North Node, which can make us feel more attractive. This can ramp up our magnetism and what we attract might be material abundance, admiration and appreciation from others, or perhaps a sense of well-being that brings you into a more beautiful balance with those around you.

Wednesday brings us a Void of Course Moon just before noon. The Moon will then move into balancing Libra an hour or so after Noon. Creating order is also the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. The Moon in Libra creates this feeling of harmony and calm. We find we more easily connect with people, compromise is more likely and conflict less so. It’s a time when we find it easier to understand and relate to others. We tend to be polite and diplomatic, and would rather avoid arguments. We also have Mercury making a harmonious trine, this time with Neptune, and this means our imagination and intuition will be running high. However, we do need to watch out for the fact that it can be all too easy to allow ourselves to get caught up in fantasizing and yearning about our deepest, hidden wishes. While this is mostly a time for being optimistic, creative, intuitive, and hopeful it is also a smart move to keep at least one foot on terra firma.

Thursday is the Summer Solstice and we have the Sun moving into Cancer, so Happy Solar return to all of your Cancerians, and Solstice Blessings everyone! The Summer Solstice is a major turning point of the year in which we grow more conscious of our roots and the family patterns that continue to shape our lives. The point, however, is not to reinforce fearful habits by constructing barriers to the world. It is, rather, a reminder to give birth to ourselves, to connect the past and present and create a future appropriate for tomorrow instead of clinging to the limits of yesterday. We also have an opposition between Venus and Mars today, and this is a transit that increases sexual tension and physical desires. Those who are in a healthy relationship could find that this tension can be released with heightened stimulation and enjoyment. However, a relationship that is already tense may see tempers flare and boil over because as a result of selfishness or wandering eyes. A positive way to help release this build up of tension and frustration is through physical or creative outlets, such as dance or vigorous exercise.

Friday brings some pleasant energies our way that are great for social activities with individuals or small groups in an intimate setting. We have a Void of Course Moon in the wee hours of the morning, which will be with us until later in the evening when the Moon moves into Scorpio, which urges us to uncover our own power, and it’s an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time, as well as a time where we tend to be more drawn towards the darker side of ourselves. Done wisely, we can get to the source of issues and create the seeds of new transformation to happen.

Saturday starts off with a bit of an uncomfortable feeling but this will improve as the day moves forward. We have an opposition between Mercury and Pluto, where we can see power struggles erupt. It’s a transit that can manifest as a compulsive need to talk, question, or even badger others, or you may feel you are being given the third degree. Now is not the time to become obsessive about the small details or for getting into unproductive power struggles. We need to keep in mind that decisions made under this transits effect are not going to be objective ones, so it may be better to hold off on any important decisions. We also have a square between the Sun and Chiron going on. When these two planets come together in a challenged position we tend to find our patience and confidence feeling a bit strained because we feel a need to break free of chronic constraints. Motivation and self-esteem can drop as well, but remember we have that energy from the Sun and Uranus to help us out here too. This sextile will help bring us out of that uncomfortable feeling.  This is a fun transit where we become more open to being spontaneous and others seem to appreciate our quirkiness a bit more. The key to this transit is flexibility! Sunday afternoon brings us another Void of Course Moon period that will last until Monday.

Week Ahead – Monday, June 11th through Sunday, June 17th

  • Posted on June 10, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday We are nearly halfway through June and this week is a fairly busy one for us. Today, we have the Moon in practical Taurus, which supports our efforts to produce something that we can say “look at what I accomplished!” This energy will be with us through Monday as well. So let’s see what this week holds for us.

Monday continues with the practical and productive Taurus Moon Energy, so make the most out of this. Tuesday starts off with an early morning Void of Course moon that will shift into Gemini as we rise for the day. When the Moon is in Gemini we become active, feel stronger emotional sensitivity and a need for socializing. We also have the tendency to fall under influences that can lead to the danger of getting off course and making mistakes. We tend to buy things that we don’t really need, waste time with contacts that are futile and visit unnecessary places and events. Emotions may become amplified but shallow. We may easily meet new people now, however half of the contacts we make will later turn out to be empty. Some of us will try to do everything all at once, which later leaves us stuck with unfinished projects and ideas. We also have Mental Mercury moving into Cancer today, where it will remain until the end of June. In Cancer, Mercury needs us to make sure our heads and hearts are working together. Today also supports small projects around the home and time with family.

Wednesday is our Gemini New Moon, which means its time for us to open up to some new ideas, go to new places, and meet new people. Venus will be moving into heart opening Leo today, where she will remain until July 9th. This is a time for our creative passions to be brought out. Mercury makes a harmonious trine with Uranus, which means we can benefit by stepping outside of our comfort zone now. And lastly, Mercury makes a challenging square to Chiron. where we may find that our mental focus and perceptions feel a bit strained. This transit could bring your mental perspective to a kind of “healing crisis” that forces you to get a better grip on the ideas, communication, and frame of mind that have been problematic for you. The Moon will go Void of Course in the evening.

Thursday morning sees the Moon shift from the restlessness of the Gemini Moon to an instinctive need for peace and quiet. Quite often, when the Moon is in Cancer, we all become homebodies. We want to retreat to the place we feel most at home. This can bring out a sense of “homesickness” if we’re far from home, or estranged from others. It may be a time, then of reaching out to those that know us best.  Venus will be making a challenging square to Uranus today as well, which means we need to be careful of temptations like impulse buying and being a bit erratic with our resources. Otherwise, our finances can become a bit unstable. Best thing to do is stick to your budget or if you feel you must buy that extra something, check your funds and be realistic.

Friday brings a trine between Venus and Chiron to start with. This can bring a great opportunity for healing and rebalancing, especially in the areas of relationships, finance, resources, and values. We also have an opposition between Mercury and Saturn, where we may find ourselves faced with challenges where communication is concerned, making it feel as though we are struggling to get our point across to others. If you are prone to depression or self-esteem issues you will need to give yourself a bit of space and love, because those feelings can be amplified during this transit. The Moon will go Void of Course in the early evening.

Saturday morning sees the Moon move into social Leo, bringing a bit of optimism our way. This Moon brings a cheery vibe, making it easier to be lifted out of the doldrums. Its a good time for presentations, celebrations and social events. You might want to leave the day open, and let your spontaneous mischievous child inside lead the way. Sunday is Father’s Day and this Leo energy will be with us for the whole weekend, so enjoy it with the Dads in your life!

Week Ahead – Monday, June 4th through Sunday, June 10th

  • Posted on June 3, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! I celebrate my birthday today and every year I get to this point and look back at how much things have changed. It can be liberating, scary, a bit sad and joyous all at once. Today we have a nice Aquarius Moon energy that makes for happy emotional social connections, so try to get out and socialize a bit if you can. Now, let’s see what this first full week of June has in store for us.

Monday starts off with an early morning Void of Course Moon and this will be with us for the whole day/night and into tomorrow mid-morning. When the Moon is Void of Course we can feel emotionally disconnected, so the day is best used for tending to practical tasks or tapping into and tuning in to our spiritual side. Tuesday sees the Moon moving into Pisces just before Noon. At this time our life can take on a kind of mystical quality at the emotional and instinctive levels. Dreams and illusions, forgiveness, and understanding human frailties: these things arouse deep feelings for us. On a negative side, it can be harder to deal with the harsher aspects of reality during these lunar days. We may escape with one more drink, or “check out” in front of the television. It’s easy to coast through the day when you’re dreamy or “lost.” It helps to have some creative focus, in order not to flounder in the sign of the Fishes. It’s an active day today because we have the Sun in a conjunction with Mercury, so we ten to have a lot to say and talk about. Communication of all kinds is highlighted today. We also have an opposition between Venus and Pluto, so we may experience challenges or feelings of great intensity now. Now is the time to dive deep into those personal issues that are associated to our values, finances, resources and relationships. However, doing so means that you will have to delve beneath the surface of those issues in order to discover any patterns that you may not have noticed before. Such patterns can be an indication that we need to acknowledge and come to grips with our shadow shelves such as obsessions, hidden agendas and our most secret desires. This give us a chance to learn how we project our shadow selves onto other people via the way we interact, our expectations, fears and hopes.

Wednesday is another active day and we may find our sleep disrupted or have disjointed dreams due to a square between Mercury and dream planet Neptune. Under this transit, our mental focus can feel a bit clouded, confused or lethargic. Our mind struggles with trying to tackle and understand the limitless expanse of the Universe we live in along with what is formless and shifting. We can experience some disillusionment or disappointment in our observations or communication with others.  This is an important time, however, to break through old and rigid expectations that may be blocking our ability to see the bigger picture. Try to focus on one task at a time today, don’t try to plan too far ahead and you should be fine.

Thursday begins with a morning Void of Course Moon, which will be with us for most of the day and evening. So we will have that feeling of emotional disconnectedness. In the late evening the Moon will move into fiery Aries, so the next two days will be good for getting our bodies moving. Some may actually feel this shift more than others. An Aries Moon tends to bring conflict more than most times, with emotional tensions growing, people becoming short-tempered and impulsive. Some may show a readiness and fearlessness to act in an extreme situation. Even the sweetest tempered person can become a bit mean under this moon. However, it becomes easier to shake old problem and the weight of tiresome responsibility. We want to free ourselves from everything that bothers us and makes our lives feel uneasy. We also have a tricky challenge between the Sun and Neptune today, which has the tendency to take those wistful ideas and wishful thinking, and make them seem more realistic than they actually are. What tends to happen then is that we become disillusioned and prone to disappointment. Some may want a fantasy to come true so badly that they disconnect themselves from any actual obstacles that get in the way. Really we need to be paying attention to those obstacles because they are needed and serve a purpose for our own self growth.

Friday brings a conjunction between Mars and the South Lunar Node. This can be a somewhat prickly and impatient transit, as well as active and energetic. Where the South Node falls in your natal chart can determine the area where that conflict may lie. We can sometimes feel this transits influence 2 weeks before and two weeks after its movement.

Remember, the South Node is where we release stuff, move away from what may be holding us back, and letting go of the old. And since we are working with Mars energy, whatever it is that we are embracing or releasing will most likely have to do with aggression, anger, forcefulness, or assertiveness. So it’s important to find some common ground that will allow us to rebalance ourselves.

Saturday is a quiet one for us but we still have that Aries energy in play, so get out and be active. The Moon goes Void of Course in the early evening. As we rise on Sunday morning the Moon will be moving into earthy Taurus, where we feel the tension of the past few days start to drop away. People tend to become calmer and peaceful. We feel secure and stable. We are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace, and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulses are to relax, resist change, and “stop to smell the roses”. So make sure you take some relaxing time out and look at the beauty the world has to offer on a simpler level.
