Week Ahead – Monday, February 26th through Sunday, March 4th

  • Posted on February 25, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone. Here we are, at the end of another month. Europe has been in winter mode this week..still. Let’s hope Spring starts to show itself soon. Today we are under the influence of a Cancer Moon, so we may feel like being homebodies or spending time with those we feel close to. It’s also a good day for sharing our insights with others with Mercury and Neptune in a conjunction. What we do need to watch out for is an argumentative energy coming from a square between Venus and Mars. Be clear in your communications where relationships are concerned. The start of the workweek looks like it will flow smoothly, so let’s see what this week has in store for us.

Monday is a quiet day in the skies as we start off, but the Moon will be going Void of Course Monday evening. Here is a basic rule to keep in mind when dealing with anything big during a Void of Course Moon: If you are trying to make something happen and want it to be a success, avoid the Void! There are some benefits we gain during these Void times. For example, its the best time for taking a break, kicking back and relaxing and pretty much doing anything that doesn’t really need too much of our attention or energy.

Tuesday morning sees the Moon moving into heart opening Leo, where we feel more energetic and optimistic. We feel like we can do anything! We crave compliments and appreciation and are generous with kind words to others. This Moon brings a cheery vibe, making it easier to be lifted out of the doldrums. Its a good time for presentations, celebrations and social events. You might want to leave the day open, and let your spontaneous mischievous child inside lead the way. We also have a sextile between Venus and Pluto going on, a subtly powerful and uplifting time for romantic/sexual relationships because our sense of attraction is very strong. The focus is on those close, one to one relationships which means these can benefit from moving to a deeper level. This can also be a time for financial profit as opportunities with institutions such as banks, the tax man, insurance, or anything that deals with collective funds open up for us.

Wednesday brings us some busy Mercury energy. We have a square between the communication planet and Mars to start. This transit is characterized by hot debates, fiery speech and lots of arguments. We may experience this in forms of conflict or we may find these exchanges as challenging yet stimulating. We just need to remember to pace all of that mental energy. One of the things we need to watch out for here is that we may have a really short fuse, as will others around us. We can get through this one by keeping a tight rein on our judgement and objectivity when having verbal duels. We can tap into this energy and use it to fan the flames of motivation or take our ideas and use them to generate some positive and constructive action. Mercury will also be sextile to Pluto, giving us a bit more insight and psychological understanding than usual. However, it also brings passion to our communication, which is now being fuelled by the Mercury/Mars transit. So we do need to be careful that our words don’t come out with more force than intended, especially in situations that require a bit of delicacy.

Thursday is the first day of a new month, and it kicks off under the influence of a practical Virgo Moon. When the Moon is in Virgo we instinctually gravitate towards practical activities. In an urge to set things right, we might easily find ourselves re-organizing and rethinking plans. Emotional satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others. This makes it a good time for doing routine work that requires precision, concentration on detail and hard work. Health matters might come into focus. Under a Virgo Moon, we can become more sensitive and vulnerable, especially in areas of the body like the intestines and lower abdomen. Its recommended that we go easy on our stomach with a balanced diet. We also have an upbeat trine between Venus and Jupiter, which can draw those to us who appreciate who we are and are willing to lend support. We may also feel as if we are finally getting some sort of break in life for the better.

Friday starts with a Mercury/Jupiter trine, where we may find ourselves more talkative, filled with more ideas and wanting to share these with others. It’s a really good time for stepping back in order to get a broader overview of projects we are working on, especially business-related ones. With all of these ideas flooding through it may be a good idea to write things down now so that we can develop them later. But right now we want to play with these ideas, turn them and twist them around…not manifest them just yet in the real world.  If you are prone to pessimism, this transit’s optimistic energy can neutralize that for a bit. Just before midnight, the Moon will go Void of Course.

WEEKEND

Saturday morning begins with a balancing Libra Moon, which creates this feeling of harmony and calm. We find we more easily connect to people, compromise is more likely and conflict less so. It’s a time when we find it easier to understand and relate to others. We tend to be polite and diplomatic, and would rather avoid arguments. Its a good day for pampering ourselves and those we feel close to.

Sunday is a busy one, starting off with a conjunction between the Sun and Neptune. With the Sun conjunct Neptune, it can be a time of heightened creative ability that draws us to that the unusual, unfamiliar, and little used resources of inspiration and channelling those into our self-expression. It’s not necessarily creative in an artistic sense but it will definitely involve taking a more inspired approach to challenges and problems before us. This transit’s energy will only be around for a few days so use it while you can, make the most of it and make sure that you are careful to make a reality check before you jump straight into any magical opportunities that your way. We have both Venus and Mercury in a conjunction with Chiron. We need to remember that words can wound as well as heal right now, so choose them wisely. Its also a time when unresolved issues and old wounds in both relationships and finances come to the surface, bringing the potential for healing and a fresh start.

Last we have a conjunction between Mercury and Venus, a transit that is marked by receptive awareness, positive social connections, and diplomatic communication. That means having to negotiate any contracts, agreements, or mutual plans will go a lot more smoothly because all parties are focused on mutual balance to achieve an outcome that benefits all. Its a good day for enjoying things of beauty and pleasure now, as we prefer to reflect on the beauty that is in our world and all around us. The areas of music, art, drama…anything that provides us with a pleasant diversion will draw our attention. Try to steer clear of any harsh energies if you can.

Week Ahead – Monday, February 19th through Sunday, February 25th

  • Posted on February 18, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We are in the third quarter of February, many hoping for spring to hurry up already. Today has a sleepy vibe to it because of the Sun making its move into Pisces. But we also have the Moon moving into Aries, which wants us to get up and get active. So a combo of the two is in order for today. Let’s see what this week has in store for us.

Monday brings us a trine between the Mars and the North Lunar Node. Mars’ interaction with the North Node is the most dynamic. It gives us the courage we need to follow through on our new ideas, as well as helping us to strike out on our own. Our actions and timing tend to feel in sync with socially accepted norms. The only thing to be careful about is that we tend to take risks under this transit.

Tuesday sees the Moon going Void of Course just before Noon, where it will remain until the early evening when it then moves into Earthy Taurus. When the Moon moves into Taurus, we feel the tension of the past few days start to drop away. People tend to become calmer and peaceful. We feel secure and stable. There is also this tendency for our thoughts and reactions to slow down, making us feel a bit slow in getting ourselves going. This is the best time for taking care of the home, running errands, restocking supplies and tending to routine maintenance. Its best to hold off on important business now, as well as the signing of contracts or important papers, because we may make mistakes due to a slowed down reaction and thinking process.

Wednesday brings us a conjunction between Venus and Neptune, which can bring a time of romance and dreamy desire, or self-serving negotiation and deceptive manipulation. The upside of this transit is that it can inspire a lot of creativity and healing faith in abundance and love. We are more open to lofty possibilities of our ability to draw to us what and who we desire in relationships. The problem here is that we need to have a realistic approach to the views and actions necessary to fully realize our potential. So assessing these areas won’t come easily right now.

During this time, if you find yourself considering any major changes that involve tapping into resources, income, and investments, it would be a good idea to do a reality check with someone who you trust. We also have a sextile between Mercury and Saturn, a supportive transit that can help us to bring mental and disciplinary influences together to create a balanced atmosphere for working together.

Thursday is a quiet one, aside from a Void of Course Noon occurring just before noon. The Moon moves into Gemini just after midnight and into Thursday morning. The Moon is the instinctual side of life, so when there’s a lunar Gemini mood, the trickster is afoot. Humour becomes a way of defusing super serious situations. This can also be a period of emotional change: feeling two ways at once without getting too deep into either polarity is possible. Habits are in a cycle of change; variety satisfies a deep inner need. Being on the go and keeping a finger to the winds of change make you feel in touch.

WEEKEND

Saturday brings a more relaxed energy our way, with the Moon going Void of Course in the early evening. As we move into Sunday we will feel the restlessness of the Gemini Moon gives way to an instinctive need for peace and quiet today as the Moon moves into Cancer. Under Cancer’s influence, people become more sensitive and go deeper into their inner world, which takes on more importance at this time than the outer world. A feeling of belonging and safety is what motivates us under this influence. The Moon feels right at home in the sign of Cancer, as it rules the sign. This Moon position has much healing potential. Although insular by nature, our feelings run deep, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us. We want roots; we crave a sense of intimate connection that will.

Sunday is a busy day in the skies. We have a square between Venus and Mars, which makes our diplomatic and receptive side a bit argumentative with our more decisive and assertive side. We may feel a battle of wills between our yin and yang sides here, or we could find a way to harness both of these energies creatively.
Social blunders are a possibility now and we need to be wary of making impulse purchases. Those who are prone to drama and attention seeking could very well stir up problems in order to fulfil a need for excitement. Then there is a conjunction between Mercury and Neptune, which can stimulate our creativity. Our imaginations can really soar here as insights become more magical and richer.

For those who are more sensitive to this transits energies, a need for finding quiet time to meditate or just be alone with our thoughts could be strong. Lastly, we have a sextile between the Sun and Saturn, where we feel more able to effectively take care of loose ends and attend to small details, especially the ones we dislike. Focusing on practical matters and getting organized are good things to focus on now, especially if you are laying the foundation for something positive to grow.

Week Ahead – Monday, February 12th through Sunday, February 18th

  • Posted on February 11, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We are nearing the halfway point of this month, Valentines Day is a couple of days away, as is the Chinese New Year. The 16th ushers in the year of the Earth Dog. Chinese New Year is a time to welcome longevity, wealth and prosperity and to eliminate any negative chi from the past. This fourteen-day celebration is very symbolic, and has many important do’s and don’ts.

Year of the Earth Dog years are believed to be the most unlucky for people born in previous years of the Dog. In general, people with Chinese zodiac Dog sign will have a year full of challenges. It’s not all unlucky for everyone though, as the Dog is a symbol of luck in general. Today we have the energies of a Capricorn Moon in play, making it a good day for focusing on responsibilities and tangible projects. It’s a relaxing energy though so we can relax as we take on these tasks. Now, let’s see what this week has in store for us.

Monday continues with the Capricorn Moon energy, so we can still get those responsibilities and projects done today. Otherwise, its a fairly quiet day in the skies. Tuesday starts with an early morning Void of Course Moon that will move into Aquarius in the mid-afternoon. This is a friendly energy that can help us to work on the friendship side of our relationships. We also have a square between Mercury and Jupiter today, a transit that can bring us information overload, making it all too easy to miss or neglect important details. What we need to be careful of is that “pie in the sky” thinking, or having ideas and making plans that are a bit too grandiose. However, this can be a good opportunity to learn something about how we jump to conclusions or place blame, especially if a situation triggers something that challenges our beliefs. Lastly, we have a sextile between the Sun and Uranus, a fun little transit that allows us to be a bit more open to being spontaneous.

Wednesday is Valentines Day, but a quiet one in the skies. We do still have the Aquarius Moon energy focusing on building stronger connections and the friendship side of things, but there is also that bit of fantasy romance for those enjoying a night out.

Thursday is our New Moon/Solar Eclipse occurring in Aquarius. Our last Solar Eclipse happened in Leo back in August of last year. Think back to what was going on at that time for you. This eclipse is the exact opposite, allowing us to gain some perspective on our lives between then and now. The New Moon urges us to open to something new, and an eclipse amplifies that energy. We have a sextile between Mercury and Uranus going on, where our thoughts are inventive and original. Mixed with this Solar Eclipse energy, this is a good time for taking those ideas and inventions to the next level. Lastly is a sextile between Venus and Saturn. This is a day for romantic yearnings, fantasies and longings. It makes the perfect time to ask yourself if there is a dream of yours, perhaps one you had to shelve for a while, that you can now take down, blow off the dust, and make it come true.

Friday brings the still New moon into Pisces, a good energy for music, movies and meditation for the weekend. At this time our life can take on a kind of mystical quality at the emotional and instinctive levels. Dreams and illusions, forgiveness, and understanding human frailties: these things arouse deep feelings for us. There is also a tendency for getting overly involved in the problems of others, causing us to temporarily lose ourselves in the process. It’s wise to watch out for those who prey on the goodwill of others at this time.

WEEKEND

Saturday brings us a challenging square between Mars and Neptune, which can produce some active dreaming. For up to a week before and a week after today, we have a chance to discover and work with our blind spots and the hidden motives that tend to trip us up. It may feel like we are spinning our wheels or “shadow-boxing” and we aren’t even sure why right now. We may be fighting a hidden agenda or unconscious motives (either our own or someone else’s). We might also be trying to apply a concrete solution to an ambiguous situation, and then wondering why it isn’t working out very well. Combine this with a conjunction between the Sun and Mercury, and some of us may have some restless sleep or wake up really early. Our mind is busy now and some may choose to take some short trips this weekend to keep themselves, and their minds, busy.

Sunday brings a shift from a dreamy and diffused Pisces Moon into a fired up Aries Moon, bringing physical restlessness on top of the mental restlessness. It’s a day for being active. It’s also an energy fit for gravitating towards emotional beginnings, a fresh start, perhaps the establishment of new habit patterns – so make sure they’re good ones because they’ll set the tone for you for quite some time to come! We have Mercury moving into Pisces as well this morning. When Mercury is in Pisces, our thinking processes become visual, intuitive, and imaginative. Our brainy Mercury is less interested in the facts and more in touch with feelings at this time. We are more attuned to the world of emotion, and it colours both our thoughts and our communication style. This transit serves poets, artists, healers, spiritual seekers and all those who don’t rely on objective evidence to shape reality. We also have the Sun joining Mercury in Pisces, so Happy Solar return to all of you Pisces natives!

Week Ahead – Monday, February 5th through Sunday, February 11th

  • Posted on February 4, 2018 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you had a good week and your weekend has been relaxing. We have a Libra Moon with us today, which is great for social sharing. Its a day for pampering ourselves and others, so put it to good use. Let’s have a look at what the coming week has in store for us.

Monday brings us a harmonious sextile between Venus and Uranus, an unpredictable transit that can have us feeling excited about the social aspect of our lives. Enjoyment can pop up when we least expect it now. Keep in mind that the Moon will be Void of Course in the early evening, so sharing on a deeper level can be light and friendly now. This is also a good time for standing apart from the crowd if you want to attract the types of people you wish to be around. Highlight your unique qualities and let them shine now. Oh, and do be careful that you don’t allow boredom to push you towards doing anything too reckless.

Tuesday starts off with the Moon moving into broody Scorpio, where emotional charge and sensitivity increases. It’s a time where we need to be careful not to get swept away by irritability, mood-swings, hysteria, big and small excitements, and a sudden desire to quickly change everything. People tend to become more conscious of self and others and see everything in dark tones with the Moon in Scorpio.

Wednesday is a quiet one for us that is supportive of sharing on a deeper level the things we may feel most vulnerable about. Thursday kicks off energy that is good for parties. We have the Moon moving into upbeat Sagittarius, which also gravitates towards enjoying the outdoors and philosophical discussions. We tend to become a bit more orderly and calm, are ready to follow routines and rules and have a need for giving and receiving advice and recommendations. We may find an increase in our interests in social life and where we fit in. It does, however, put us in a risk-taking mood. A need to be in motion makes us very restless if we get bogged down with mundane chores. It’s a good time for speaking our truth, saying it like it is, but we also need to be careful that our words don’t come out with blunt force. The best way to enjoy and us this lunar energy is to keep it light and upbeat. We also have an opposition happening between Mercury and the North Lunar Node, which can have us dwelling on the past in ways that tend to block us from finding our true future path in life. So we need to find that balance between past and future and let go of what is holding us back from our future destiny while keeping what is helping us.

Friday brings us a Sun/Jupiter square, where we feel a bit more enthusiastic and upbeat, inspired to expand ourselves well beyond our usual boundaries. This can work for some and not work for others, because we run the risk of reaching far beyond our means, even promising more than we can actually give. This can be a challenging time where important lessons could emerge that help to expand the limits of our true beliefs. We also have a conjunction between Mercury and the South Lunar Node, where we are pushed to release old ideas and perceptions that just get in the way of our ability to see things clearly. During this process, we may need to let go, communicate and share our observations of the past six months, or maybe even compare some notes with another about things we have been mulling over for a while.

WEEKEND

Saturday brings relationship planet Venus into dreamy Pisces, where she will be until March 6th. This brings us a romance/fantasy combo, but we need to make sure we are seeing people for who they truly are now, not just how we want to see them. It is a transit where romance and compassion are enhanced in our relationships. It’s a really great energy for those who are artists, writers, musicians, or anyone who deals in the art of imagination.

Sunday morning sees the Moon shifting into Capricorn, where our emotional charge seems to decrease as our feelings of duty and responsibility move to the fore. We tend to become more practical and logical, as well as more demanding and less sensitive to others and ourselves. It’s a good day for setting out plans. This can be a very sober influence–even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the face.
