Week Ahead – Monday May 29th through Sunday June 4th

  • Posted on May 28, 2017 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the long weekend and gorgeous weather we are having. These are the last few days of May and then we kick off a new month. We have a sextile between Mercury and Neptune happening today, where intuition tends to run high and we feel more sensitive artistically, our imagination is stirred, and we have an increased appreciation for subtleties. We do need to take care however, because it can be all too easy to get caught up in fantasizing and yearning for our hidden wishes. Mainly, this is a good time for creativity, optimism, intuition and hope. We just need to make sure that we stay grounded. Let’s have a look at what this week has in store for us.

Monday is Memorial Day in the USA and the day has a bit of a hurry up and wait feel to it under the influence of an opposition between Mars and Saturn, which can have you being fast acting one minute and in couch potato mode the next. Try to find a nice balance between the two and enjoy the day! We also have the Moon moving into Leo just after noon, so its a great time for doing something fun and creative.

Tuesday brings us a sextile between Mars and Uranus, where our energy levels tend to be a bit higher and we feel more enthusiastic towards work (not sure what happened to me on that one). It also becomes a bit easier to manage and motivate others in a positive way so this energy is great for getting group projects planned, started, and worked on. Its also a time for thinking outside of the box and for experimenting with new directions, responses, and actions. Some may find our spontaneity a bit out of character now, and for those who normally go overboard with spontaneity…well you may want to try to find some ways to channel this energy more constructively. The point here is to be refreshingly spontaneous…not impulsively reckless.

Wednesday is the end of the month, and we go out on a productive vibe with the Moon moving into Virgo in the late afternoon. In this mutable earth sign of Virgo, the mood is geared toward busy productivity and adjusting with minor tweaks here and there. It favours clearing, refining, purging, detoxing and organizing. It also favours launching self-improvement schemes. We find our steps are more purposeful, and this helps us with tasks that require patience and focus on details. We may find that we can get into this zen-like groove of action, so mundane tasks like cleaning don’t seem so laborious. We want to be working and seeing signs of tangible effort now. We also have a trine happening between Mercury and Pluto, making it a good day for projects that require some focus and expressing deep emotions. We also have a sextile between Mars and the North Lunar Node. For a couple of days prior and after today it could feel that opportunities are coming your way, with any action you take now having results or implications that reach farther than you expect. Keep in mind however, that this could come in any form, not just positive, but also anger, hostility, vindictiveness and rejection. Use this opportunity wisely.

Thursday begins the first of June and sees a trine between Venus and Saturn. During this transit taking care of the necessary-even unpleasant-tasks seems less of a burden. Assuming responsibility earns you the appreciation of others who admire your commitment. It’s a time where pleasure is made to last rather than immediate gratification. Some may feel an extra need to prove their responsibility to others. We can also find it easier to focus on projects that are creative in nature.

Friday brings a challenging square between Mars and Chiron, which means now can be a time for confronting issues in your life that involve why or how you get hurt by others, how you may hurt others, and how healing can take place in either of these scenarios. Whatever the reasons, this transit may give you a push that will help to steer you in a healing direction, possibly by showing you how and why the path you have been on does not lead to where you want to go. If you start to feel overwhelmed, take some time out from the stress to get re-centered and grounded.

Saturday starts off with a conjunction between Venus and Uranus, where we tend to have a taste for the unusual and the avant garde. You may find yourself itching for change now, and if you have been feeling stagnant, this energy will get you to make that much needed move. What makes us unique now is more attractive to others under this influence, so emphasize what makes you special. We also have a supportive trine between the Gemini Sun and Jupiter. According to the ancients this is one of the most positive transits. With the Sun and Jupiter working together we are able to work in harmony with our environment, radiating warmth and generosity to those around us.  It’s a really good energy for situations where we need to present an idea or project and need to get other people on board. Lastly, we have a trine between Venus and the North Lunar Node. For a couple of days prior and after today we find we feel a bit more comfortable in our own skins, as well as in the social world around this. So, its a good weekend for mingling and enjoying being ourselves.

Sunday starts us off with Mars moving into Cancer, and this is not a easy position for Mars as it’s sharper edges become softer and a bit more diluted. This is a good time, however, for us to assert ourselves in a more proactive way where protection of ourselves and our loved ones is concerned, as Cancer does focus on hearth, home, and personal emotions. Just think of a mama bear protecting her cubs and you will get an idea of how this energy can work. Pay attention to how you respond to any buried feelings that come up now. Try to avoid pushing these things back down. Instead respond to these emotions in a caring and nurturing way for both yourself and those around you. We have a tricky little square between the Sun and Neptune as well. Its tricky because it has the tendency to take those wistful ideas and wishful thinking, and make them seem more realistic than they actually are. What tends to happen then is that we become disillusioned and prone to disappointment. Some may want a fantasy to come true so badly that they disconnect themselves from any actual obstacles that get in the way. Really we need to be paying attention to those obstacles because they are needed and serve a purpose for our own self growth. If used right, this can be a creative and healing transit. We just need to listen to our inner voices a bit more now.

Week Ahead – Monday May 22nd through Sunday May 28th

3034556i3jnjxd307Happy Sunday everyone! We are getting near the end of another month and practically halfway through 2017. We have the Sun shift into the sign of the twins yesterday, and early this morning the Moon went Void of Course, and will move into Aries mid-morning. Don’t be surprised if the fiery energy of Aries wakes you early today and you feel a need to burn off some extra energy! Let’s take a look at what this week has in store for us.

Monday is a quiet one in the skies, but we still have that Aries energy with us that is quite active today. The Moon will actually be activating a lot of other planets today, and on days like this we need to just flow from one person or project to another, without getting ourselves hung up in any one thing.

Tuesday starts us off with a morning Void of Course Moon. A bit after noon the Moon makes its move into earthy Taurus, making the next couple of days great for accomplishing those practical tasks we have before us, especially those that we are finishing off. When the Moon moves into Taurus, we feel the tension of the past few days start to drop away. People tend to become calmer and peaceful. We feel secure and stable. There is also this tendency for our thoughts and reactions to slow down, making us feel a bit slow in getting ourselves going. This is the best time for taking care of the home, running errands, restocking supplies and tending to routine maintenance. Its best to hold off on important business now,as well as signing of contracts or important papers, because we may make mistakes due to a slowed down reaction and thinking process.

Wednesday is a fairly quiet day and afternoon. We have a Void of Course Moon in the late evening, which then moves into Gemini and begins our New Moon phase early tomorrow. We have an abundance of mutable signs right now, meaning these are signs that can adapt and be flexible, go with the flow (Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces..with Virgo being absent at this time).

Thursday brings the full impact of the Gemini New Moon. Now, Gemini is a curious sign that pushes us to want to explore new possibilities. And New Moons are a great time for starting new things. So it’s a time for stepping out of our comfort zones and comfy ruts to try new things and meet new people. In Gemini our basic instinct is to communicate, think, and learn. We are motivated by a desire for variety and by an instinctive curiosity. The Moon in Gemini is light-hearted, breezy, and curious, but it can also be restless and fickle. We have a challenging square aspect as well today, between Venus and Pluto. Under this transit we may find that our relationships and interactions tend to be a bit deeper, more intense and transformative. Other things that are affected are our sense of beauty, and any dealings around finances and material resources. Mainly, this transit can shed light on those problem areas in our lives that need to go through a bit of a transformative process in order to heal.

Friday is a quiet day for the most part, but still under that ever curious energy of the Gemini New Moon. Its a good one for being active and exploring if you get the chance.

Saturday starts off with a morning Void of Course Moon that will move into Cancer just after noon. You may feel that restless Gemini energy giving way to Cancer’s instinctive need for peace and quiet now. Its a favourable energy for food and family. Under Cancer’s influence people become more sensitive and go deeper into their inner world, which takes on more importance at this time than the outer world. A feeling of belonging and safety is what motivates us under this influence. The Moon feels right at home in the sign of Cancer, as it rules the sign. This Moon position has much healing potential. Although insular by nature, our feelings run deep, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us. We want roots; we crave a sense of intimate connection that will.

Sunday brings us a sextile between Mercury and Neptune, where our intuition runs high. We may feel more sensitive artistically, our imagination is stirred, and we have an increased appreciation for subtleties. We feel inspired and feel able to inspire others as well. It’s a very time creative, where our ideas seem to flow magically and makes a great time for literary and artistic projects. We do need to take care however, because it can be all too easy to get caught up in fantasizing and yearning for our hidden wishes. In some instances, we may want so badly to reach that stage where our outlook is magically and our intuition is inspired, that we allow ourselves to be deceived rather than let ourselves fall short of the things we are hoping for. Mainly, this is a good time for creativity, optimism, intuition and hope. We just need to make sure that we stay grounded.

Week Ahead – Monday May 15th through Sunday May 21st

  • Posted on May 14, 2017 at 10:09 am

Happy Sunday everyone, and Happy Mother’s Day to all of you Mom’s in the USA! Astrologically, today will be fairly uneventful. We have the Moon in Capricorn, which sets the tone for the start of the week. So this morning and this afternoon are good for those family activities, but try to steer clear of any emotional topics as we head into the evening. Now, lets see what the rest of this week has in store for us!

Monday sees Mercury re-entering Taurus as it moves out of its shadow from its recent retrograde cycle. When Mercury is in Taurus, our thinking is down to earth, solid, and grounded. Common sense reigns over more fanciful thinking. We communicate more deliberately under this influence, and our minds are oriented to the world of the five senses. We prefer the tried and true rather than new ways of thinking. Attention to one thing at a time can simplify our lives, but we may be in danger of narrow, overly conservative, or rigid thinking.

Tuesday has a late morning Void of Course Moon, with the Moon moving into Aquarius by early evening. When the Moon is in Aquarius it brings us feelings of openness with a sense of inner freedom. Our emotions become more alive and we feel we can express them more freely. What we can’t cope with are limitations being imposed upon us or pressure from others because our main focus is on our inner feelings of independence. We tend to have a sense of emotional coolness or detachment at the personal level, combined with an emphasis on idealism: such is the nature of the cycle we are now entering. We have a tendency to allow ourselves more freedom.

Wednesday is a quiet one in the skies, but we are still under the influence of the Aquarius Moon, so its a good time for stepping out of our normal routine, trying new groups and organizations, and meeting new people.

Thursday brings a harmonious aspect between the Sun and Chiron our way. Wherever Chiron falls in our natal chart will show us where we have been wounded and the key to healing. Having the Sun shed its light on those wounds can lead to a release from our bonds to our past bringing healing and wisdom.
Look at the chronic struggles you have had going on in your life. This transit can help you find new inspiration, motivation, or the confidence to rejuvenate our waning enthusiasm.  Of course, this means having to face our fear of failure and low self esteem before we are able to move past those feelings. The thing to remember with this transit is that we are not tapping into its benefits because we are failing in our life. It’s the new potential that becomes available under this transit that brings a response to these new concerns that are rising to the surface.

Friday is a busy one in the skies, and begins with a Void of Course Moon in the wee hours of the morning, which will then move into Pisces before we rise to start the day. A Pisces Moon can bring about feelings of romance, heightened intuition, mystical and dreamy moods, and an interest in the unknown, religion and all that is magical. We tend to become softer, sentimental and more tender, speaking words of kindness and complimenting those we love. We also tend to have this deeper understanding of the hidden meaning of life, events and things, as well as more intimate perception of beauty, art, poetry and music.

We also have a happy trine between Saturn and Uranus, a combo that has been going on since December of last year and will continue until November of this year. Saturn wants to focus on long term growth and stability, and Uranus wants excitement, freedom and something totally new. When we combine these energies it can open up to new possibilities that we are able to blend into the world of the mundane. Its a great energy for inventors, but this harmonious energy is available to us all! No matter what our Sun Sign or configuration in our natal chart. A trine usually symbolizes completion of an event or project in a harmonious way. Saturn represents solid structures, big business, tradition, the establishment. Saturn is grounded, conservative, rooted in the practical, disciplined, concerned about what one “should” do or what “should” happen.

Next up is a challenging square between the Sun and the North Lunar Node, which can bring feelings of conflict between our sense of identity and purpose with the lessons we are needing to learn in our lives. It can manifest through situations where we feel we are being forced off course or forced to take a detour that is not as direct as our chosen road. Some may find themselves confronted by dilemmas and conflicts at this time that cause stress and these are situations that we may normally resist. However, by bot fighting these situations, we can gain a deeper understanding of our feelings and experiences if we let ourselves explore the situation a bit.

Lastly, we have an opposition between Venus and Jupiter. while this isn’t an overly difficult combo, we do need to be careful about overindulging in the sensual pleasures. It can be hard to find a balance between responsibilities and the desire for self-gratification right now. Some may feel that nothing is enough for them and will continually look for something better. This can lead to an unrealistic dissatisfaction with one’s relationship or placing the blame for dissatisfaction on the outside world when really the issue is within us right now.  On a positive note, the energy of this transit can bring out our natural charm and beauty where social situations are concerned. This is great for those who are often very shy or inhibited. Things like making big purchases or expanding on a relationship or love interest can work in our favour if we have taken the time to do a bit of research first rather than just impulsively jumping in feet first. Those who like to help others will feel more generous with their time, resources, and skills now too. Enjoy it but don’t go overboard or promise things that you will find hard to give at a later date.

Saturday is when the Sun makes it’s move into the sign of the Twins, so Happy Solar Return to all of my fellow Geminis out there! For the next month knowledge and diversity will be what motivates us with the Sun in Gemini. We become more sociable, intellectual, and insatiably curious under this influence. However, we also tend to scatter our energies as a result of this curiosity and awareness of all of our options. The Sun in Gemini is a good time for: Getting your point across, writing letters or speaking in public, initiating flirtatious new friendships, and taking short trips.

Sunday starts with a Void of Course Moon in the early hours of the mornings, and then the Moon moves into firey Aries just before noon. Some may actually feel this shift more than others. An Aries Moon tends to bring conflict more than most times, with emotional tensions growing, people becoming short-tempered and impulsive. Some may show a rediness and fearlessness to act in an extreme situation. Even the sweetest tempered person can become a bit mean under this moon. However, it becomes easier to shake old problem and the weight of tiresome responsibility. We want to free ourselves from everything that bothers us and makes our lives feel uneasy. It’s a great time to have an opening for an art show, a business, or to sell your house. It supports you if you’ve got to be dynamic, for a job interview or on a date. You can go ahead and start that project or try to sell your idea to others. Quick short activities are favored, rather than doing any tedious footwork. You can encourage a friend, work on self-promotion materials, or throw a party.

Week Ahead – Monday May 8th through Sunday May 14th

Happy Sunday everyone, and I hope you are enjoying the start of this new month. We have a fairly pleasant day today with the energies of a Libra Moon with us that makes it great for spending time with those we like and having an easy day. Enjoy it while you can! Let’s see what this week has in store for us.

Monday is a fairly quiet one for us, with a Void of Course Moon taking place just before midnight. Tuesday begins the build up to the Full Moon, with the Moon moving into brooding Scorpio in the morning. Scorpio is where emotional charge and sensitivity increases. Its a time where we need to be careful not to get swept away by irritability, mood-swings, hysteria, big and small excitements, and a sudden desire to quickly change everything. People tend to become more conscious of self and others, and see everything in dark tones with the Moon in Scorpio. We also have the Sun aligning with transformative Pluto today. Whether you’re clearing out your closet or flushing out your brain, this transit is the time for getting rid of whatever has become unnecessary or outworn in our lives. And this can be anything from an unhealthy relationship to old and outworn beliefs that are holding you back. Or you just may need to chuck the rubbish out of your work space. We get to see what’s below the surface in order to see things very clearly so don’t be surprised if you discover, or re-discover, something lost, hidden, or forgotten during this process either.

We also have the North Lunar Node moving into the sign of Leo today. For about a year and a half we will be learning about Leo’s fun, creativity, self expression and the celebration of life. We will do things in a more heart-felt way because we feel more inclined to give from the heart than giving because we feel obligated to do so. This will be a time for us to strengthen our sense of self in a way that allows us to feel fully in touch with who we are.

Wednesday brings us a Scorpio Full Moon but the Moon will go Void of Course late in the evening. Full Moon’s are great times for releasing, harvesting, and letting go. Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it’s passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won’t work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it’s an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness. We also have a conjunction between mental Mercury and Uranus, a transit that brings about spontaneous, radical, and unusual means of thinking and communicating. It may compel us to speak our mind or say things that we felt unable to say before. It can also cause us to speak without first thinking our thoughts through. Our perceptions are more flexible and open-minded, and this can have us seeing things with our eyes wide open…which can be a bit of a shock to the system for some. On a positive note, this transits energy can set lose our creativity and inspire us, especially when we are looking ahead at our future. It’s a good energy for gatherings which can include community, family, friends and groups.

Thursday brings us a small challenge when Mars and Neptune square off. Part of us wants to go forward a mile a minute and another part of us just wants to slow things down so that we can process the action we are trying to take. Try to find a healthy balance between the two and you should get by just fine. We have a trine between Mercury and Saturn as well, a transit that is excellent for mental work that involves accuracy and precision. Under this transit it may be easier to take a more practical, logical approach to any goals that need a problem solving approach. We also have the Moon moving into optimistic Sagittarius this afternoon, bringing us a feeling of peace and stability.

Friday sees a harmonious trine between Mars and Jupiter, but we need to take care not to overdo things with this energy. With it’s more optimistic energy, Jupiter brings out the visionary within. Make sure you keep a pen and paper with you and write down all those ideas winging through your head. This way you can look at them later and see which are doable. You may even find a new solution to an old problem or two now. You might even find that luck comes your way because you are more receptive to opportunities and possibilities.

Saturday is a quiet one, but we still have the Moon in party animal Sagittarius, so make the most of that upbeat energy before Sunday. when the Moon goes Void of Course in the wee hours of the morning and then moves into the more serious sign of Capricorn ad dawn. In Capricorn our emotional charge seems to decrease as our feelings of duty and responsibility move to the fore. We tend to become more practical and logical, as well as more demanding and less sensitive to others and ourselves. When the Moon is in Capricorn, we’re more serious minded. It’s harder to just hang out. We want to feel productive on something that has substance to it. These days are great for pushing past difficult obstacles. We’ve got extra discipline and patience. And we’re able to forgo the satisfaction of short term gains for longer term achievements. Lastly, we have a trine between Mercury and the North Lunar Node. This aspect brings us a fresher awareness as well as a better ability to communicate that awareness. It is a beneficial resource which can help us to take a few more steps closer towards out life purpose. Just bear in mind that we also need to take action too. We will need to, at some juncture, take into account what we have observed and do something with this.
