What’s New This Month

Here we are once more, moving into the last month of another year gone by.  We have a lot of friendly energy around for this month, which makes it perfect fpr the festive season and connecting with old friends, meeting new acquaintances, and to trying out groups and organizations to expand our circle of people. As we come to the close of the old year I always make a point of looking back at where I was this time last year. And I am always amazed at just how much I have done and learned.

As we start moving into the colder and darker days of winter, many of us start to feel a bit down, tired, or overwhelmed. Darker days can often create a feeling of melancholy. That is why its so important to do things that bring warmth to your environment and your spirit. Pampering yourself in little ways, focusing on crafts or projects in the house you may not have had time for, or taking stock of what you have done and what you wish to do in the coming year; all of these are ways to perk things up a bit.

The New Year is always a good time for looking ahead, making changes, and letting go of the old from last year. And it’s a great time to have a New Year Outlook Reading to help get a glimpse of what is ahead for you this year. You can find my special New Year’s readings in the  Monthly Specials  section this month, along with a few other inspirational readings to help bring balance into your life, such as the Spiritual Journey and the Fool’s Journey readings for those who are looking to start off in a new direction. So be sure to stop by and have a look at the September specials! You can have a browse through the many specialized readings I offer on the  Tarot Readings page.  Tarot’s Life Path & Personal Growth section is a good place to start!  Or take a wander through the various Oracle readings on my site, like Rune, Angel, Faery and Animal Totem readings.  All of these categories can be found on the main Reading Room page.  Don’t forget to check out the other areas on the Readings page, like the Oracles, Rune and Animal Medicine Cardssections.

If you have a website or blog that you need some creative content writing for, I offer my services as a freelance writer.  You can check out my basic prices atFaery Scribe.  I’ve written for several sites, such as Natural News, Jules of the Earth, Hirewriters and a number of private clients.

In the Reiki/Energy Work section you can find reiki and energy work to help give you a bit of a boost. You can find Reiki sessions, Chakra Healing and Attunements, Violet Flame healing, and the Avalon Crown of Success healing. Reiki is great for flushing out the old energies that may be lingering both in our own energetic bodies and the environment around us.

If Astrology is your cup of tea be sure to stop by my Astrology section where you can order some insightful Natal charts, Compatibility reports and Transit reports to see what will be affecting you in the months ahead. Week Ahead – Monday December 26th through Sunday January 1st

  • Posted on December 25, 2016 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone and Merry Christmas Day! I hope you are all enjoying the Yuletide season. Today we are under the influence of a quiet Void of Course Moon, as well as three harmonious Venus aspects that make for a rather pleasant day. Its a good day for mixing time with loved ones and some quiet time for ourselves amidst all the hustle and bustle of the holiday. With New Years Eve only days away, we may feel like we have to get a lot of things sorted out before the end of our coming work week. So use today’s quiet vibe well! Now, let’s have a look at what this last week of 2016 has in store for us.

Monday begins with a Sagittarius Moon, bringing a bit of peace and stability for Boxing Day. We tend to become a bit more orderly and calm, are ready to follow routines and rules and have a need for giving and receiving advice and recommendations. We may find a increase in our interests in social life and where we fit in. We also have an opposition between Jupiter and Uranus going on. This opposition has been building since the US elections. Expansive Jupiter thinks that bigger is better and explosive Uranus tells us to expect the unexpected. Its a good transit for contemplating where we feel we need more freedom in our lives. We also have retrograde Mercury in a sextile with Neptune, which can make us feel more sensitive artistically. It stirs up the imagination and our inspiration. Just don’t leave your head in the clouds and temper this with some grounding.

Tuesday brings a nice little sextile between the Sun and Mars, which gives us the energy, enthusiasm and power we need to fuel our ambitions. However, things won’t just fall into our laps here. We will have to reach for what we want. We can look at our past experiences now and use this to help us reach ahead towards our dreams and visions. It’s definitely a good transit for making progress on our goals, or for taking the steps necessary to let go of any inhibitions that have been holding us back. One thing we do need to be cautious of with this transit is that it tends to make us more apt to take risks, or to find the courage we need to do things that we may not do otherwise. Our level of tolerance for obstacles is at a low too, which can make us think that the only way to get past a problem is to use force. This can be good or bad depending on how extreme a move you want to make. Your best option is to use your better judgement and listen to your more diplomatic side.

Wednesday starts off with a quiet Void of Course Moon that will move into Capricorn mid-afternoon. In Capricorn our emotional charge seems to decrease as our feelings of duty and responsibility move to the fore. We tend to become more practical and logical, as well as more demanding and less sensitive to others and ourselves. We also have the Sun in a conjunction with retrograde Mercury, and this marks the halfway point of Mercury’s retrograde cycle. This conjunction can bring about a new beginning in our awareness, communication, how we process and use info, and how we exchange ideas. Some may not notice anything more than subtle shift in consciousness. Others may feel their mental state becomes a bit muddy as the focus goes within to to unconscious part of ourselves, or we may become suddenly lucid and clear for this short transit (yep, sorry folks but once it’s shifted we all go back to fog brained thinking thanks to Mercury retrograde) It’s definitely a turning point though in this Mercury retrograde cycle. So try to spend time in your right brain, intuitive, non-rational side of the mind because this can help draw out our creative and inventive side a bit more. We also have a sextile between Mercury and Mars, a transit that helps us to dig down deep in order to find the courage we need to speak out minds and stand up for ourselves.

Lastly, we have the asteroid Pallas moving into Pisces. Pallas represents creative and applied intelligence, that cross between intellect and action. In Greek mythology, Pallas Athena was the Goddess of battle skills and heroism, wise counsel, and the defence of towns and cities. She also rules the arts of pottery and sculpture, weaving and “women’s work”. Olive trees and oil are blessed by her energy. Pallas in the sings indicates our style of creative expression. The signs filter her reality by shaping what Pallas sees or perceives. In Pisces, Pallas deals with the mysterious, fantastic and dips into our interpretation of reality. This is a great energy for those who work in healing and mysticism, as well as those who work in the arts, designing or anything that requires us to use our imagination.

Thursday brings our Capricorn New Moon. A New Moon is that it is all about new beginnings that come from a deeper and more spiritual level of our being. It’s a good idea to take time and see where your philosophies don’t measure up to your day to day life. This is also the day that Uranus turns direct, ending its retrograde motions. Uranus has been retrograde for the last 4 months and as it shifts forward once more it can bring a turning point in any situations that involve freedom, breaking free from old patterns and situations, expressing our uniqueness, and rebelling. Things may feel a wee bit chaotic for a week up to and after this transit. But what revolutionary Uranus really wants is to clear the way for new growth and manifestation in our lives. So expect the unexpected at this time because this influence will be working through the next 8 months.

Friday morning starts off with a quiet Void of Course Moon that will be with us for the remainder of the day and evening. We also have a sextile between the Sun and Neptune. This is a transit that illuminates our intuition and gives us faith in the blessings around us. We tend to feel like we are flowing more easily with life as solutions appear all by themselves. We also become more receptive to how others think and feel, understanding their need and wanting to find ways to help them. It’s a good transit for pursuing mystical and spiritual matters, which is where our thoughts seem to drift at this time. If you have been feeling a bit out of tune or disconnected with the Universe/Divine, the energy of this transit can help you to reconnect again.

Saturday, New Years Eve, sees the Moon moving into Aquarius in the early hours. When the Moon is in Aquarius it brings us feelings of openness with a sense of inner freedom. Our emotions become more alive and we feel we can express them more freely. What we can’t cope with are limitations being imposed upon us or pressure from others because our main focus is on our inner feelings of independence. We tend to have a sense of emotional coolness or detachment at the personal level, combined with an emphasis on idealism: such is the nature of the cycle we are now entering. We have a tendency to allow ourselves more freedom. Aquarius is a good energy though for social gatherings and ringing in the New Year.

Sunday, the first day of 2017, starts off with a conjunction between Mars and Neptune, which are both in Pisces right now. With Mars and Neptune both in Pisces things can get a little strange. We may experience some lethargic confusion or uplifting inspiration, or even swing between both! As a positive we can feel really motivated as new creative and spiritual ideas come in. The downside though can have us feeling less focused than normal, making our actions feel blunted or blurred somehow. This transit usually initiates a new cycle for us and the events and issues that come up now will more than likely have much more going on under the surface. Its a theme that fits in for the first day of the new year, with many people making their resolutions!

Week Ahead – Monday December 19th through Sunday December 25th

  • Posted on December 18, 2016 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We are just days away from the Winter Solstice and Christmas, and a new year not too far behind it. Today is a day for keeping it simple and making preparations for our busy week ahead. We have a late afternoon Void of Course Moon that will move into practical Virgo in the early evening. The Moon in Virgo is where people tend to become more rational and practical, so it can help us over the next couple of days as we plan for our holiday celebrations. Let’s see how the rest of this Yuletide week will pan out.

Monday morning see aggressive Mars moving into gentle and psychic Pisces, where it will remain until January 27th. This energy will allow us to push forward with a bit more discretion and kindness. Spiritual tasks, charitable acts, compassionate gestures and imaginative pursuits flow more freely with this transit. It can allow us to be more easily connect to spiritual, artistic, creative, and intuitive energy. Listen to what your body, actions, and reactions are telling you now. You may find yourself feeling a bit spacey at times and need to be careful of falling into despondency. But it can help to do things that will feed you spirit in a natural way over these next few weeks. We also have Mercury going retrograde today until January 8th. This is a good time for doing any behind the scenes planning, reviewing our year and getting started on formulating ideas for what you want to do in the new year. Make sure that you leave some room in your plans for any Mercury related set-backs.

Tuesday is a quiet one in the skies but Wednesday is the Winter Solstice. We start out in the wee hours under a Void of Course Moon, which will move into balancing Libra an hour later. Charts looking at the next 3 months show us that the Moon has just entered its last quarter phase, which brings us an energy of consolidation that allows us to remove the people, activities, situations and things that have been draining our energy, or to at least set and improve our boundaries. In social Libra its a good time for meeting new people and creates a feeling of calm and harmony. The Sun moves into Capricorn today as well, so Happy Solar return to all of you Capricorns! We currently have an abundance of cardinal signs, which are action oriented, which allows us to re-balance our needs in our partnerships and in our self identity needs.

Thursday is another quiet one for us, with an evening Void of Course Moon. On Friday afternoon the Moon moves into Scorpio, where emotional charge and sensitivity increases. Its a time where we need to be careful not to get swept away by irritability, mood-swings, hysteria, big and small excitements, and a sudden desire to quickly change everything. People tend to become more conscious of self and others, and see everything in dark tones with the Moon in Scorpio.

Saturday is Christmas Eve, and we have Saturn trine Uranus, where we become more open to being spontaneous and just going with the flow with no real plan. It combines stability with change in a positive way, as tradition and traditional beliefs/views are in harmony with more eclectic views. This is a good time for breaking out of old cycles and habits. Flashes of insight, inspiration, and bursts of courage are all part of this transit’s magic. We tend to feel more grounded and centred, more in touch with our true spirit, who we really are deep down.

Sunday, Christmas Day starts off with a Void of Course Moon and sees the planet Venus in action with a few transits happening. First there is Venus trine Jupiter, a happy little trine that can draw those to us who appreciate who we are and are willing to lend support. We may also feel as if we are finally getting some sort of break in life for the better. Optimism can be a bit contagious now too and it isn’t too hard to draw others into our vision for the future. However, we do need to be careful that we don’t let that go to our heads and over indulge or fall into feelings of complacency. We also have an unpredictable transit with Venus sextile Uranus, which can feel quite exciting for the social aspects of our lives. We may find that enjoyment pops up where we least expect it. Anything that breaks away from our routines will feel like a very welcome change. For the romantics at heart we have a sextile between Venus and Saturn, making it a day for romantic yearnings, fantasies and longings. It makes the perfect time to ask yourself if there is a dream of yours, perhaps one you had to shelve for awhile, that you can now take down, blow off the dust, and make it come true. This transit gives us that ability to really grasp the true and solid facts needed to choose investments wisely and to interact with others where relationships of all kinds are concerned. Another aspect of ourselves that this transit effects is our self worth, which can really benefit now because we are less likely to let ourselves give in to mood swings. However, for those of us who suffer from depression, we may want to take a bit of extra care that we don’t let ourselves become so stable and grounded that we totally lose touch with our sense of hope and potential. To get the most of this transit, try keeping your pleasures humble and simple.

Week Ahead – Monday December 12th through Sunday December 18th

  • Posted on December 11, 2016 at 7:30 am

Happy Sunday everyone! We are at that halfway point for this month with the Yuletide season closing in and a new year not too far behind it. It can be a manic time for many of us so make sure you make time for yourselves amidst all of the chaos. Its a quiet one in the skies today but we still have some energies in play that can cause a few hiccups. We have the Moon in Taurus, which wants us to focus on tangible projects. Then there is also the upcoming trine between the Sun and Uranus early tomorrow that can affect us a bit today, making us want to side step our responsibilities and do something a bit more wilder. The best way to cope with these energies pulling us in two directions is to do something practical early on so we can spend the rest of the day doing something fun. Now, let’s have a look at what the rest of this week has in store for us!

Monday starts off with a Void of Course Moon that moves into Gemini in the afternoon. When the Moon is in Gemini we become active, feel stronger emotional sensitivity and a need for socializing. We also have the tendency to fall under influences that can lead to the danger of getting of course and making mistakes. We tend to buy things that we don’t really need, waste time with contacts that are futile, and visit unnecessary places and events. Emotions may become amplified but shallow. We may easily meet new people now, however half of the contacts we make will later turn out to be empty. Some of us will try to do everything all at once, which later leaves us stuck with unfinished projects and ideas. We also have the full impact of that trine between the Sun and Uranus, both of which are in Aries. As the Sun mingles with Uranus we become more open to being spontaneous and just going with the flow with no real plan. And this can be liberating for many. In fact it may be just what is needed to get us out of a rut. As always, there is a warning here too. And that is to make sure you don’t become too reckless. Keep it balanced so you don’t come across as too erratic, careless, or chaotic.

Tuesday is our Gemini (Moon) Sagittarius (Sun) Full Moon. Now, this is usually a Full Moon for social activities and parties. However, we have restrictive Saturn bringing a more serious vibe to conversations as it ties in with Chiron, the Wounded Healer. We find, on one hand, that we are more open to share our philosophical ideas with others in a more light hearted way. But Saturn tends to bring a certain amount of seriousness to things. So we may find we are optimistic one minute and pessimistic the next. You can still get out there and share with those you know, knowing that things can go from one aspect to the other.

Wednesday brings us a dawn Void of Course Moon that will shift into Cancer around noon time. Under Cancer’s influence people become more sensitive and go deeper into their inner world, which takes on more importance at this time than the outer world. A feeling of belonging and safety is what motivates us under this influence. The Moon feels right at home in the sign of Cancer, as it rules the sign. This Moon position has much healing potential. Although insular by nature, our feelings run deep, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us. We want roots; we crave a sense of intimate connection that will. Its a time when many will want to stay close to home for the next couple of days. Thursday is a quiet one for us with a late night Void of Course Moon.

Friday brings the Moon into the more social sign of Leo, where we feel more energetic and optimistic. We feel like we can do anything! We crave compliments and appreciation, and are generous with kind words to others. This Moon brings a cheery vibe, making it easier to be lifted out of the doldrums. Its a good time for presentations, celebrations and social events. You might want to leave the day open, and let your spontaneous mischievous child inside lead the way. There’s a lure to colourful, special places like museums, food fairs and festivals and glamorous high end boutiques. It’s a mood heightened by spectacles like parades, costume parties and children’s theme parties. There’s delight in playing make-believe under this Moon, above the mundane of life.

Saturday is quiet, but we still have that cheery Leo Moon in play, making it a great time for socializing and enjoying those pre-christmas parties and nights out. Things mellow out a bit on Sunday afternoon when the Moon moves into the more practical sign of Virgo. The Moon in Virgo is where people tend to become more rational and practical. Its the small details that seem to be more important to us now, in some cases more than they are in reality, which can lead to arguments over what seems like insignificant little things. We do become more disciplined and responsible, careful and diligent, but only with those small details.  Its not a good time for making any large, risky or important decisions now because we tend to not be tapped into our intuition enough to foresee what the consequences of the future will be.

Week Ahead – Monday December 5th through Sunday December 11th

  • Posted on December 4, 2016 at 7:30 am

image1668668Happy Sunday everyone! As we get ready for the first full week of December there is a mix of playful and challenging energies in play. Today, however is still under the influence of an Aquarius Moon, so its a good time for trying something new and different with experimental Aquarius. Our work week starts off with a Void of course Moon and we have Venus shifting into Aquarius this week as well. So let’s take a closer look at what we have ahead.

Monday is under the influence of a Void of Course Moon for pretty much the whole day, so tending to existing projects and those humble tasks are more in order under this introspective influence.

Tuesday brings the Moon into Pisces just before dawn. A Pisces Moon can bring about feelings of romance, heightened intuition, mystical and dreamy moods, and an interest in the unknown, religion and all that I magical. We tend to become softer, sentimental and more tender, speaking words of kindness and complimenting those we love. We also tend to have this deeper understanding of the hidden meaning of life, events and things, as well as more intimate perception of beauty, art, poetry and music. We also have a sextile going on between Mars and Uranus, which tends to make our energy levels a bit higher and we feel more enthusiastic towards work (not sure what happened to me on that one). It also becomes a bit easier to manage and motivate others in a positive way so this energy is great for getting group projects planned, started, and worked on.

Wednesday is under the influence of a Void of Course Moon as well as Venus moving into Aquarius. Although this can be a friendly energy, Aquarius can initially be a bit hard to pin down as it can keep moving from person to person, and conversation to conversation. Use this harmonious combination to explore new groups and connect with new people, and wait until next month to determine who will stick around.

Thursday sees the Moon shift from dreamy and diffused Pisces to fired up Aries mid morning. Some may actually feel this shift more than others. An Aries Moon tends to bring conflict more than most times, with emotional tensions growing, people becoming short-tempered and impulsive. Some may show a readiness and fearlessness to act in an extreme situation. Even the sweetest tempered person can become a bit mean under this moon. However, it becomes easier to shake old problem and the weight of tiresome responsibility. We want to free ourselves from everything that bothers us and makes our lives feel uneasy.

Friday sees the energetic Sun making a harmonious sextile with optimistic Jupiter, where our ideas and plans become infused with clarity and optimism. We can better understand the “Big Picture” and what our place is in the big grand scheme of it all. This can result in our self-esteem and confidence getting a boost. For some, this can give a feeling of being “lucky”. It truly is a feel good energy that we get from this mingling between the Sun and Jupiter. It urges us to do something outgoing and expansive. We do need to be careful however that our boosted feelings of self assuredness and just “knowing” doesn’t backfire on us because we overestimated how much we thought we knew. We could also underestimate the reaction of those we share with too. We may become a bit self indulgent with this transits’ energy so the best advice here is to make sure you don’t over do it or go overboard. Other than that, this is a transit we should all tap into and enjoy!

Saturday has a lot going on in the skies, with the Sun aligning with restrictive Saturn, an earthy Taurus Moon, and a sextile between Mercury and Neptune. It sets us up for wanting to accomplish practical tasks while mixing in some play time and pragmatism. Saturday morning will be a bit more work focused with the afternoon and evening drawing us towards some fun. We also have the asteroid Ceres ending its retrograde cycle. Ceres rules over how we give and receive loving support from others. While Ceres was retrograde we were forced to reconsider what it was we truly cared about, both people and situations. Projects, people and ideas that have been in that “mothering” stage may now require us to step back and let those things “leave the nest”. Also, during this retrograde cycle, we saw a need to recognize whether we were filtering out or rejecting the love that others were giving to us. With Ceres now moving forward we can take what we have learned and share this with others in a way that teaches them how they can succeed in their lives. A sense of achievement is what makes us feel nurtured. Take care though, because under stress it can lead to excessive dependence on position or status as a substitute for creating loving or caring relationships. Sunday is a fairly quiet day for wrapping up the weekend and getting ourselves ready for the coming work week.
