What’s New This Month

Happy November everyone!  Overall, November looks like it will be a fairly mellow month. We have warrior planet Mars moving into Aquarius, right on Election Day too, which means we can expect the unexpected. Mars will be in this sign until mid December, which gives us the opportunity to get out and meet new people, try out some new groups and interests in this friendly social energy that it brings. Venus will move into Capricorn on November 11th and remain there until the first week of December. making a really good combo for business. The only real challenge we face this month is a square between Jupiter and Pluto, which has been building up for a few weeks now. This is a transit that chellenges us to open our belief system to a whole new level..

As we start moving into the colder and darker days of winter, many of us start to feel a bit down, tired, or overwhelmed. Darker days can often create a feeling of melancholy. That is why its so important to do things that bring warmth to your environment and your spirit. Pampering yourself in little ways, focusing on crafts or projects in the house you may not have had time for, or taking stock of what you have done and what you wish to do in the coming year; all of these are ways to perk things up a bit.

The specials for this month reflect the energy we will be dealing with. I have the seasonal Thanksgiving/Gratitude reading, and a few readings that will help you to explore your current journey in life. All of these can be found in the  Monthly Specials  section this month, along with a few other inspirational readings to help bring balance into your life, such as the Spiritual Journey and the Fool’s Journey readings for those who are looking to start off in a new direction. So be sure to stop by and have a look at the September specials! You can have a browse through the many specialized readings I offer on the  Tarot Readings page.  Tarot’s Life Path & Personal Growth section is a good place to start!  Or take a wander through the various Oracle readings on my site, like Rune, Angel, Faery and Animal Totem readings.  All of these categories can be found on the main Reading Roompage.  Don’t forget to check out the other areas on the Readings page, like the Oracles, Rune and Animal Medicine Cards sections.

For many getting ready to start some early Yuletide shopping, have a browse through my Faery Trinkets  shop, where I will have my Barefoot Sandals, bracelets, earrings, necklaces and crochet items on display for sale.  I’ll be adding some crocheted items as well soon, and you can also find these items in my Etsy shop.

If you have a website or blog that you need some creative content writing for, I offer my services as a freelance writer.  You can check out my basic prices at Faery Scribe.  I’ve written for several sites, such as Natural News, Jules of the Earth, Hirewriters and a number of private clients.
In the Reiki/Energy Work section you can find reiki and energy work to help give you a bit of a boost. You can find Reiki sessions, Chakra Healing and Attunements, Violet Flame healing, and the Avalon Crown of Success healing. Reiki is great for flushing out the old energies that may be lingering both in our own energetic bodies and the environment around us.

Week Ahead – Monday October 31st through Sunday November 6th

Happy Sunday everyone and Samhain Blessings for tomorrow! Here we are at the end of yet another month. Clocks go back today for us in the UK and Autumn is truly upon us now. November should be an interesting month with the US elections taking place and many will be starting off the Yule season right after Thanksgiving day. Today we have a New Moon in Scorpio, which will take us to a deeper level of emotions. This New Moon is also aligned with Mercury, which means we will be able to better communicate these deeper emotions to those we love and feel comfortable doing so with. Let’s take a look a what the rest of this week has in store for us.

Monday is Samhain/Halloween. Samhain is the a Celtic/Pagan celebration, sometimes referred to as the new year because it signals the end of the harvest and cycle. Many who celebrate this day honour their ancestors and those who have passed on. Its believed that at this time the veil between this world and the Otherworld are thinner. One tradition was to set a place at the table for our ancestors or the dead as a way of welcoming them back as they revisited their homes. However you celebrate the day/eve, take care, be safe and enjoy yourselves.

Tuesday starts the first day of November, and with it we have the moon moving into Sagittarius, bringing a sense of peace and stability. We tend to become a bit more orderly and calm, are ready to follow routines and rules and have a need for giving and receiving advice and recommendations. We may find a increase in our interests in social life and where we fit in. We also have
a trine between the Sun and Neptune today, a transit where we find our imagination stimulated, which is great for those who work in a creative field because they will find expressing themselves flows easily through their specific artistic outlet. It’s a day for wishing and positive thinking as optimism and hope spring eternal. Those that have been feeling the heaviness of depression will find their spirits uplifted, reliving them from the heavier weight of sadness and discouragement that has been felt up till now.

Wednesday brings us a sextile between Mercury and Pluto, where our communication is fuelled by our passion and we can be very persuasive in dealing with others by first finding some common ground between us and them. Our intuition plays a part in helping us to feel out where the other person’s thinking may be. So its a good day for negotiations. However, we do run the risk of speaking too forcefully or being too pushy in trying to get what we want, and our mental concentration can lead to becoming obsessed as well.

Thursday is a quiet one for us, with just a Void of Course Moon. A Void of Course Moon is when the Moon is in the process of moving between two zodiac signs, or in the Void. In the Void, the Moon is not quite sure how it feels just yet. And since the Moon rules our emotions, we don’t know how we feel either! We may feel a bit lost, run down, out of sorts or confused. The effects can last from a few seconds to a day or two. With energy feeling off balance, it isn’t a good time for making major decisions or doing anything based on emotional decisions because our perceptions are a bit out of whack. So starting something new, making major decisions or purchased, signing contracts and overall planning, asking for favours, selling something like a house, buying something expensive like a home or new car, starting a job search or applying for a job, making announcements of importance, and starting relationships (some believe it is an ill omen to marry during a Void of Course Moon). Here is a basic rule to keep in mind when dealing with anything big during a Void of Course Moon: If you are trying to make something happen and want it to be a success, avoid the Void!

Friday brings us a Capricorn Moon, where our emotional charge seems to decrease as our feelings of duty and responsibility move to the fore. We tend to become more practical and logical, as well as more demanding and less sensitive to others and ourselves. Its a good day for planning ahead for the coming work week or bring a bit of structure to plans that are getting in motion now.

Saturday starts the weekend off with a trine between Venus and Uranus, where liberation and spontaneity flood into our relationships, resources, finances, and those little pleasure we so enjoy! We feel more at ease in the company of others and an old friend may be there to give you a boost, or to try something new. We tend to desire the more thrilling and exciting activities now and changing the patterns of our interaction can be quite interesting as well. Its a time when we have a taste for the unusual and may find ourselves trying things (food, people, activities) that we would have overlooked in ordinary circumstances. One thing we do need to be careful of however, is the we could spend impulsively beyond our budget, or become reckless in our relationships and social interactions. The key is to allow ourselves to break free from what is holding us back without breaking down the order and structure that we need in our lives.

Sunday brings the Moon into Aquarius, which brings us feelings of openness with a sense of inner freedom. Our emotions become more alive and we feel we can express them more freely. What we can’t cope with are limitations being imposed upon us or pressure from others because our main focus is on our inner feelings of independence. We tend to have a sense of emotional coolness or detachment at the personal level, combined with an emphasis on idealism: such is the nature of the cycle we are now entering. We have a tendency to allow ourselves more freedom now and we are drawn to the new and unusual, so use today to try something new and refreshing, change up your routine or just take some time out for yourself.

Week Ahead – Monday October 24th through Sunday October 30th

Happy Sunday everyone. We’re now entering the last week of October with Halloween/Samhain arriving next Monday. This is another month that seems to have flown by and it brings us ever closer to the Winter Solstice. This is the time of year I like to start baking and making hearty stews, so its time to break out the slow cooker. Anyway, today we have the Sun moving into Scorpio and the Moon moving into Leo. Leo wants us to go and do something creative and playful and Scorpio wants us to be passionately engaged in activities that are meaningful and significant. So have at it! This Leo energy is with us for the start of the work week and Scorpio energy is with us until around November 22nd. The week ahead continues with the theme of a playful and serious mix of energies, so let’s take a look at that.

Monday sees cerebral Mercury joining the Sun in scrutinizing Scorpio, which will help us to read between the lines and makes us more willing to wade into those dark waters of secrets and uncertainty to get to the core information we need. We’ll find that conversations are heavy with intensity that leaves less room for frivolity. While some may be tempted to only see negatives with their x-ray vision, Mercury in Scorpio’s higher purpose is learning how to resolve core issues to transform failure into success. The dark side of Mercury in Scorpio is represented by the mistrusting mind, one that holds secrets and fears them at the same time. Communication becomes a means of control, rather than connection. However, seeing our fears doesn’t mean that we have to perpetuate them. The opportunities are ripe for discussing heretofore forbidden subjects, resulting in greater degrees of trust and intimacy though.

Tuesday is a day when many will feel like knocking off of work with Venus making a challenging aspect to Neptune. It brings a day dreamy energy to the areas of relationships, resources, pleasure and money, but also leaves these areas subject to deception, confusion and wishful thinking that is unrealistic. Our desires are more unclear. Imagination and fantasy fog judgement and create romantic confusion.  For example, we find that something we thought we had (resources, love, friendship, money) has suddenly become undependable or has up and disappeared.  Feeling disillusioned, disappointed, alone or depressed can come with this transit.  However, try to keep in mind that this may just be a passing phase and not a more serious crisis at this time. We also have the Moon moving into practical Virgo, which wants us to be productive but this energy is best tapped into on Wednesday, where we will feel a bit more motivated.

Wednesday brings us a more productive energy to work with and we also have a sextile between Venus and Jupiter taking place today, which brings us an abundance of creative inspiration, material enjoyment and some feel-good pleasure in the air.  We seem to have luck and find opportunities for attracting love, money and resources.  Our self-esteem is heightened as well during this time. We need to keep in mind that, no matter how easy it seems to attract opportunities, people and possessions, we still have to work to get them.  One of the down sides of this transit is that we can be a bit greedy, taking more than we actually need.  We are tempted to get through situations by flirting, charming or bluffing a bit more than normal.  Lastly, there is a tendency for self indulging.   While not all of these are bad things, we do need to remember that its best to use this energy to enhance our own better judgement rather than overriding it.

Thursday brings a balancing energy with the Libra Moon, which creates a feeling of calm and harmony, making it easier to connect with people, make compromises that make everyone happy and lessens the chance of conflicts arising. We also have a conjunction between the Sun and Mercury today, which means we will have a lot to say, want to communicate more and where messages of all kinds has a stronger impact. The problem here is that everyone will want to be talking but no one will really be listening.

Friday is a quiet day and probably best for tying up any loose ends with work so that we have the evening free to socialize. Saturday brings an odd mix though. we still have the Moon in Libra bringing a romantic and social vibe, but we also have a challenging square between impatient Mars and explosive and unpredictable Uranus. Part of us wants love and part of us wants a good old argument. Some really erratic action and unpredictable impulses can surface under this transits energy. We have more active energy to tap into now but be careful because it can be very hard to control it’s direction, intensity, and predictability. Unconscious and suppressed emotions like anger, frustration, and fear are all bubbling away under the surface and can pop up when we least expect it. If you find that you are feeling irritable, its best to call it a night rather than let people push your buttons. We also have a conjunction between Venus and Saturn going on with all this erratic energy, which can both help and hinder. On one hand, we have no patience for frivolity and time wasting, and many may feel happier being on their own. Some may feel withdrawn and cool in a crowd. It is a good time to reflect, set priorities, enjoy simple pleasures, and appreciate quality time with ourselves or with our chosen companion.

Sunday brings us a Scorpio New Moon, which takes us to a deeper level. This New Moon will be aligned with Mercury, meaning we can communicate our deeper emotions to those we love and feel closest to. Mercury and Neptune are in a happy little trine as well, which means our intuition and imagination is running high. Its a day for getting back in touch with our intuition and many will find they are in the right place at the right time for accessing information that we need. Our minds open up more to dreams, imagination, and compassion now too. A highly creative time, this transit can make us feel as if our thoughts and ideas are flowing like magic through our heads.  One thing to watch out for though is that it can be all too easy to allow ourselves to get caught up in fantasizing and yearning about our deepest, hidden wishes. We can use this energy to channel into a more creative expression though. While this is mostly a time for being optimistic, creative, intuitive, and hopeful it is also a smart move to keep at lease one foot on Terra Firma.

Happy Sunday everyone! We are now entering the second half of October with Autumn well underway and Halloween quickly approaching. Today we have a Full Moon taking place that begins in the lingering energies of Aries and ends in Taurus. The Full Moon is the best time for doing work on letting go of the old and releasing the negative. When the Moon is in Aries we’re motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. So this makes a good day for releasing the old and looking forward to the new. The moon shifts into Taurus later this evening and will be with us for the start of the week. So, let’s take a look at what the week has in store for us.

Monday still has that Taurus energy in play, so finding a good mix between Taurus’ hard working side and its sensual pleasure side is a good way to handle things. When the Moon moves into Taurus, we feel the tension of the past few days start to drop away. People tend to become calmer and peaceful. We feel secure and stable. There is also this tendency for our thoughts and reactions to slow down, making us feel a bit slow in getting ourselves going. This is the best time for taking care of the home, running errands, restocking supplies and tending to routine maintenance. Its best to hold off on important business now,as well as signing of contracts or important papers, because we may make mistakes due to a slowed down reaction and thinking process. In the early afternoon the Moon will go Void of Course as it prepares to shift into a new sign.

Tuesday brings a different tone our way, with the Moon moving into Gemini for the mid-part of the week. Gemini supports conversations, quick projects and multi-tasking. We also have the love planet Venus moving into Sagittarius, where she will be until November 11th. Now, Sagittarius likes its projects and perspective much bigger than we see with Gemini. Venus in Sagittarius wants to seek out adventure and be playful, sometimes even a bit bawdy. Venus wants a relationship but Sagittarius just wants the fun and pleasing parts of one without the commitment. It can be a good energy to stir things up in relationships that seem to have gotten a bit stagnant though.

Wednesday brings us a conjunction between Mars and Pluto, both of which are in Capricorn right now. This is a powerful and somewhat volatile combo. On the upside it can help us to focus on our goals, to take decisive action, and to go after what we want. We won’t take “no” for an answer under its influence. And you may find that you totally revise something, or feel uber bent on getting rid of something in your life in order to move forward.

While it brings the opportunity our way for creative healing, it also brings the challenge of destructive damage. The downside here is being too forceful or wilful just now. Also, watch for overdoing things to the point of exhaustion. This can be a compulsive time when power struggles are more likely. And be wary of obsessive compulsive behaviour now too, both from yourself as well as others. You may want to give some extra distance to those who are normally compulsive and controlling because it will be magnified under this transits energy and that could result in a lot of heads butting.

Thursday starts with a Void of Course Moon that will move into Cancer by mid-afternoon. Under Cancer’s influence people become more sensitive and go deeper into their inner world, which takes on more importance at this time than the outer world. A feeling of belonging and safety is what motivates us under this influence. The Moon feels right at home in the sign of Cancer, as it rules the sign. This Moon position has much healing potential. Although insular by nature, our feelings run deep, making it an ideal time to get in touch with what motivates us. We want roots; we crave a sense of intimate connection that will. We also have an opposition between Mercury and Uranus, pulling us back and forth between being diplomatic and starting an all out war. This is a day where we need to be flexible because it can be filled with unexpected occurrences that upset or change our plans. If we fight against this right now, it will just make things all the more difficult to cope and move things forward. If you are someone who is a natural at thinking on your feet, you should get through this just fine.

Friday is a quiet day with the energies of the Cancer Moon still in play, which supports spending time with those we love and trust. The tone will change though as we head into the weekend.

Saturday brings us a party type vibe with the Moon moving into Leo, where we feel like we can do anything! We crave compliments and appreciation, and are generous with kind words to others. It’s a strong time for romance and any creative activity as well. This can be an expansive, creative, and even romantic phase, a time you’ll look back on with pride and fondness. This Moon brings a cheery vibe, making it easier to be lifted out of the doldrums. Its a good time for presentations, celebrations and social events. You might want to leave the day open, and let your spontaneous mischievous child inside lead the way. We also have the Sun making its move into emotionally intense Scorpio today, where it will be for the next 4 weeks. With these two energies in play, it may be best to spend the weekend around people you like, know and trust, or we can just opt to go it alone for some me time for the weekend.

Week Ahead – Monday October 10th through Sunday October 16th

Fall_Leaves_Transparent_PictureHappy Sunday everyone! I hope those of you living on the East Coast of the US have made it through Hurricane Matthew unscathed. It’s a quiet one today with a Void of Course Moon in play, so focus on humble tasks around the home or maybe do some meditation today. Let’s see what this new week has in store for us now.

Monday is Columbus Day in the U.S.A, as well as Canada’s Thanksgiving Day. The Moon will be in friendly Aquarius for the next couple of days now, where we feel stimulated to meet new people and try new things. For many, it gives us that boost we need to try something outside of our comfort zone. When the Moon is in Aquarius it brings us feelings of openness with a sense of inner freedom. We have a tendency to allow ourselves more freedom.

Tuesday brings Mercury and Jupiter together in a conjunction, increasing big ideas and conversations that are more enthusiastic than usual. With Mercury conjunct Jupiter we can visualize in broader terms and see the “big picture”. This could be a time when you have a strong desire to verbalize your own goals and ideals. Words flow freely but be careful not to exaggerate! And don’t believe everything you hear right now. Adding to this is a sextile between Mars and dreamy Neptune that could have some of us hitting that snooze button so that we can dream just a wee bit longer.
Wednesday brings the Moon into Pisces, which can bring about feelings of romance, heightened intuition, mystical and dreamy moods, and an interest in the unknown, religion and all that I magical. We tend to become softer, sentimental and more tender, speaking words of kindness and complimenting those we love. We also tend to have this deeper understanding of the hidden meaning of life, events and things, as well as more intimate perception of beauty, art, poetry and music. On a negative side it can be harder to deal with the harsher aspects of reality during these lunar days. We may escape with one more drink, or “check out” in front of the television. It’s easy to coast through the day, when you’re dreamy or “lost.” It helps to have some creative focus, in order not to flounder in the sign of the Fishes.

Thursday brings a challenging square between Mercury and Mars. This transit is characterized by hot debates, fiery speech and lots of arguments. We may experience this in forms of conflict or we may find these exchanges as challenging yet stimulating. We just need to remember to pace all of that mental energy. We will need to think before we speak and keep in mind that other people can be right, even if they are doing something in a different way than we would do. There is a bit of an impatient energy with this transit too, so nurturing a bit of patience now is necessary.

Friday brings a more energetic energy for the weekend as the Moon moves into Aries. Some may actually feel this shift more than others. An Aries Moon tends to bring conflict more than most times, with emotional tensions growing, people becoming short-tempered and impulsive. Some may show a readiness and fearlessness to act in an extreme situation. Even the sweetest tempered person can become a bit mean under this moon. However, it becomes easier to shake old problem and the weight of tiresome responsibility. We want to free ourselves from everything that bothers us and makes our lives feel uneasy. We also have a supportive sextile between Mercury and Saturn happening, a transit that can help us to bring mental and disciplinary influences together to create a balanced atmosphere for working together. Our focus is on bettering situations around us so it makes a good time for taking stock of what needs to be corrected or adjusted in our lives. Saturn’s discipline to thinking gives that gentle nudge needed to focus on and work on the small details rather than just looking at the big picture. It’s a good time to focus our energy on completing those difficult tasks we may have been putting aside till now. You may just find that those blocked situations can now be resolved more easily.

Saturday starts us off with an opposition between the Sun and Uranus, which can be like a wake-up call for some of us. We may experience this awakening moment as an outside scenario, or another person who comes along and shakes us out of our usual routines. We may feel pushed to try to test some new approaches to ongoing situations. Life will definitely be a bit unpredictable at this time which means we need to be on our toes and flexible! Thankfully, Sun aspects don’t usually last more than a few hours or a day. There is also a square between Mercury and Pluto. Square aspects usually bring challenges or obstacles that we need to overcome. Mercury Square Pluto is no exception here and we need to be cautious with this transit with impulsive and obsessive interaction between quick to speak Mercury and burn your bridges Pluto.

Sunday brings an Aries (Moon)/Libra (Sun) Full Moon. This Full Moon is one where we re-balance what we need for ourselves with what other people need from us. Some may feel as if they are being pushed or pulled between making time for themselves and sharing time with others. The Moon will be moving into Taurus in the afternoon, where we tend to feel like being home bodies or doing things that bring us a sense of comfort. So relax and enjoy your Sunday evening.

Week Ahead – Monday October 3rd through Sunday October 9th

Fall_Leaves_Transparent_Picture

Happy Sunday everyone! So, here we are at the start of a new month. I love October. It has that mysterious feel to it for me. The trees are all changing with their vibrant colours and my favourite celebration comes at the end of the month, Samhain/Halloween. October, in general, will be a constructive month with Mars having moved into Capricorn a few days ago. It will be there the first week of November, so we can pretty much get anything done now if we are willing to put in the effort for it. The first 3 weeks of this month has an interesting combo of planets in the sociable sign of Libra, along with some planetary energies for serious business. For some of us there may be a feeling of pressure building up and then a release, which may feel out of control at first, but once we get a handle on this it can be smoother sailing. Discomfort can come between our need for relationships and feeling too busy for one all at the same time. Mid-month we have Venus moving into Scorpio, which tends to amplify our sexual desires, as well as increases our ability to focus our intent. Today we are under the influence of a Scorpio Moon, which will be with us for the start of the work week. Let’s take a look at what’s in store for us!

Monday is a mix of that deep emotional energy from the Scorpio Moon mixed with a number of pleasant planetary aspects that allow us to work away quietly with anything that requires our focus and attention. However, we have a lower tolerance for foolish people, so projects that require us to work on our own are best right now, or at least with people who have the ability to stay centred and focused.

Tuesday brings us a couple of aspects to play with. There is a sextile between the Sun and Saturn. Under the vibes of this transit we are more able to effectively take care of loose ends and attend to small details, especially the ones we dislike. We will find it easier to play by the rules today and its a good time for showing others that we can be dependable when it counts. Then there is a sextile between Venus and Pluto, which allows us to tap into the deeper levels of our energy stores and determination. We can apply this determined effort towards promoting our ideas and could find that we are very persuasive with others.  We do need to take care though that we are not coming across as too forceful or pushy.  It’s a good energy for those situations where we need to make a strong impression, but not so much in cases where a more delicate touch is needed. Lastly, we have a square between Mars and Jupiter, and this is a transit that can bring us a greater sense of enthusiasm, confidence, and energy.  However, it can also make us a bit overly optimistic in our perspectives and assessments of what has potential. For some, a need to prove themselves to others can come across as being a braggart, arrogant, or trying to inflate their own self worth.  Our impulses are easily intensified and can feel difficult to control such as aggression, anger and sexuality.  While some enjoy winning, this transits energy could also make one a bad loser when defeated. The trick is to not take things too personally, to not let the ego get in the way of rational thinking now.

Wednesday starts off with a Void of Course Moon that then moves into enthusiastic Sagittarius, where the Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. Try to get outdoors or have some kind of little adventure if you can. We still have that Mars/Jupiter energy in play too so try not to force things forward if they aren’t ready.

Thursday is a quiet one for us so use it to have some play time before the mood turns a bit more serious on Friday, when she moves into Capricorn. The Moon will be in Capricorn for most of the weekend, making us want to accomplish things that make us feel proud, as if we have achieved something. n Capricorn our emotional charge seems to decrease as our feelings of duty and responsibility move to the fore. We tend to become more practical and logical, as well as more demanding and less sensitive to others and ourselves. We also have Mercury moving into balancing Libra today, where it will be for the next 3 weeks. This brings a chance to initiate any important relationship conversations with tact and diplomacy, but try not to do this on Friday, because we still have some pushy challenging energy in play, adding the Sun square Pluto to the mix as well. With this transit we want to avoid controlling pushy people and we need to make sure we set aside some time for ourselves.

The rest of the weekend is quiet, as in nothing new gets added to the mix of energies already in play. We have a Void of Course Moon late Sunday afternoon for winding down, but the majority of this weekend is good for those heart to heart talks and focusing on our relationships. Try to blend practical things with a bit of fun to keep things in balance.
