What’s New This Month

Blessed Imbolc and a happy February to everyone! We are just days away from the annual event of Groundhog Day and I know many of us are praying that Mr. Groundhog doesn’t see his shadow and brings on an early spring to get us out of the deep freeze we have been plunged into!

February tends to be a time when many of us focus on love and relationships. We also celebrate Imbolc which is the official start to Spring for many Pagan cultures. We start to welcome a time of new birth and rebirth as the days slowly grow longer once again.

This month, in my Monthly Specials section, I have a few readings geared towards love and relationships on offer. To honour Imbolc, I have the Brid’s Wheel tarot reading. I also have a couple of new “Life Path” readings alongside a variety of others on special; the Life Purpose and the Finding/Sharing Your Gifts readings. I’ve also kept the New Year Outlook readings on special as well since many are getting around to having a peek at what is ahead for them. All of these can be found in the   Monthly Specialssection along with a few other inspirational readings to help bring balance into your life.  You can have a browse through the many specialized readings I offer on the  Tarot Readings page.  Tarot’s Life Path & Personal Growthsection is a good place to start!  Or take a wander through the various Oracle readings on my site, like Rune, Angel, Faery and Animal Totem readings.  All of these categories can be found on the main Reading Room page.  Don’t forget to check out the other areas on the Readings page, like the Oracles,Rune and Animal Medicine Cards sections.

I have a new addition to my site, Faery Trinkets where I will have my Barefoot Sandals, bracelets, earrings, necklaces and crochet items on display for sale. I’ll be adding some crocheted items as well soon, and you can also find these items in my Etsy shop.

You can find Reiki sessions, Chakra Healing and Attunements, Violet Flame healing, and the Avalon Crown of Success healing. Reiki is great for flushing out the old energies that may be lingering both in our own energetic bodies and the environment around us.

WEEK AHEAD – Monday, February 1st through Sunday, February 7th

  • Posted on January 30, 2016 at 6:57 pm

Happy Sunday and Imbolc Blessings all! Here we are at the end of 2016’s first month. January goes out with an intense and emotional Scorpio Moon, which is in its last quarter. The last quarter moon phase is where we are challenges to consolidate our energy, finish up projects that we started earlier in the month and tie up those loose ends. February looks like it will ease up on the challenges we had in January, feeling something like that calm just before a storm smack in the middle of Mercury’s recent retrograde and March’s upcoming 2 eclipses. A majority of the planetary energies are supportive, so use them to get projects moving while you can. Now let’s take a look at what February’s 1st week has in store for us.

The first couple of days of the work week are quiet ones for the most part. Not much is going on for Monday and Tuesday starts off with a Void of Course Moon the will be shifting into Sagittarius in the afternoon, where adventure and optimism are at their high. It’s also Ground-hog Day! Will he see his shadow or decide he too has had enough of winter and signal an early spring to come? The next couple of days are great for doing something physical to burn off some of that adventure seeking Sagittarius energy.

Wednesday is a bit more busy in the skies. Mars and Pluto are in a sextile that can bring some intense and powerful energy our way. We can really use this energy for manifestation and intention work if we focus it. However, the end result may be a bit more forceful than what was intended. Mercury, which is still picking up the pace from the end of its retrograde, is sextile Chiron, giving our focus and communication a boost of some healing energy. Just be ready to put some effort into whatever it is you are focusing on. Lastly we have the Sun and Saturn in a sextile, bringing an opportunity to make some progress in getting the results we have been after in our projects, ambitions, career and creative expression. So we have a lot of positive and feel good energy to play with mid-week.

Thursday brings us an early morning Void of Course Moon, and another day to tap into all of that positive energy floating around from Wednesday’s transits. Early Friday morning the Moon moves into Capricorn, which lies to accomplish something tangible. So work on projects that can bring immediate improvements into your life, home or work. This Capricorn energy will be available to tap into into Saturday.

Saturday brings us our first real challenge when Venus and Pluto come together, bringing an intensity in love and in our close relationships. Venus is associated with our desires and values, and the challenge here is to not push those desires and values onto others. Saturday afternoon brings a sextile between the Sun and Uranus, which makes us more open to being spontaneous and going with the flow. It makes a good energy for getting out and being social, trying new things out or just experimenting with things that are outside of our usual character. Focus on breaking out of old routines for a bit. Later in the evening Mercury will be trine Jupiter, an energy that can make us feel quite talkative and flooded with awesome ideas. There is an abundant flow of optimism and visionary possibilities here. Write those ideas down so you can look at them later on and see if they can be developed a bit more. Venus will also be square Uranus Saturday evening, and here is where we need to take some care. Under this transit we can be easily tempted by impulse spending or using our resources erratically So try not to go overboard as your out and enjoying yourself.

Sunday brings us a dreamy Aquarius Moon, as well as a square between the Sun and Mars, and a sextile between Venus and Mars. The Sun/Mars mix brings some really intense energy and aggression, so we need to take care here of erupting into irritation, anger and hostility, or being around those who tend to have a short fuse. It can really feel like everyone is pushing our buttons under this transit but we can focus some of this energy into activities that burn off excess energy. The Venus/Mars mix brings us a bit of balance in how we approach conflicts, problems and any projects that need a bit of effort. Its about combining firm action with a gentle touch so try to stay grounded as much as possible.

WEEK AHEAD – Monday, January 25th through Sunday, January 31st

  • Posted on January 23, 2016 at 11:33 am

Happy Sunday everyone! This first month of the new year is quickly coming to a close as we move closer and closer to the Spring. Today is a good one for relaxing and we should enjoy it, because come Monday there will be a shift in this calming energy that will get us moving. We also have that Leo Full Moon energy, which is a good one for light hearted conversations and heart opening interactions. Let’s take a look at what the rest of this week has in store for us!

Monday starts off with a Void of Course Moon that can often have us feeling emotionally adrift as the Moon hangs between two astrological signs. We also have Mercury ending its retrograde cycle today. Just keep in mind that the next few weeks can still feel like things are moving slowly as Mercury works to pick up speed and bring things back in sync. It will be time for putting into action all of those plans and revisions we had to look at during Mercury’s Retrograde motion.

On Tuesday the Moon moves into Virgo, which gives us a boost for the next couple of days to get a lot of work accomplished, get ourselves organized and makes a good time for natural healing. Get a massage, do a detox, clear out those closets or even our minds from all that old clutter. Wednesday is a quiet one for us, but we still have that Virgo energy working away, allowing us to focus on what needs to get done.

Thursday begins with a Void of Course Moon in the early morning before it enters social Libra. In Libra we can be both diplomatic and assertive in our conversation. We tend to feel drawn to dote on others and be pampered with Libra. Libra, like Virgo, likes creating order, but not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We also have the asteroid Ceres moving into Pisces, where fantasy and imagination are the keywords. We feel nurtured by imagination and Ceres in Pisces brings out the compassion in others and ourselves.

Friday continues with that social vibe and we also have Jupiter in a conjunction to the North Lunar Node, or our destiny node. Its a transit that makes us feel optimistic, idealistic and visionary as we began to see and understand life past our usual horizon that we have become so familiar with. The downside to this transit is that we could also feel a rise to feelings of irritation, judgement, criticism or blame towards ourselves or others who we feel are not living up to their bet potential. This can also be a time when we find a teacher, mentor or advisor or become one of these to someone else. Travel and experiencing other cultures is also a highlight of this transit, whether we are travelling ourselves, planning on taking a trip or meeting someone who has experienced such an encounter.

Saturday begins with a Void of Course Moon that will be with us for pretty much the entire day, with gentle energies coming our way from a sextile between Venus and Neptune. It brings a floe of artistic, creative and romantic energy, feeling inspired when our creative Muse comes to the surface. With the Void of Course Moon, this is not a day for doing anything dramatic, but it can be a good day for finishing up any projects or doing things to beautify the home environment. Mercury will be conjunct Pluto this afternoon, where we could uncover valuable information or gain understanding under this planetary influence. Thoughts, ideas, and communications are more intense and focused and we are more able and motivated to find hidden meanings and to cut to the chase. Saturday evening looks like a good one to spend with those you feel close to.

Sunday morning sees the Moon shift into brooding Scorpio, colouring our emotions with a bit of intensity. Some may feel more like drawing within or trying to get to the root cause of any issues that are affecting them on an emotional level now. We also have a challenging square between Mercury and Uranus that bring flashes of insight and clarity while we are delving into the depths of our emotions. The problem here is that the answers we get may not be what we want to hear and could shake things up. But this is a good thing if there are are things we have been resisting and need to deal with. Be careful though, because this transit tends to disengage our brain from our mouths, causing us to blurt something out before really thinking about what we are saying.

WEEK AHEAD – Monday, January 18th through Sunday, January 24th

  • Posted on January 16, 2016 at 9:06 pm

Happy Sunday everyone! Today we have those comfy vibes from the Taurus Moon that began early this morning. Its a good day for enjoying life’s little pleasures as well as tackling some mundane projects here and there. Other than that, its a quiet end to the weekends for us, and that Taurus energy will be with us for the start of the week. Now, let’s take a look at what the rest of the week ahead has in store for us.

Monday brings a minor challenge when Venus squares off to Jupiter. Basically, we may find areas where we took on too much and then started to see those little details start slipping through the cracks. So make sure before you take on any other projects that you take a bit of time to tie up those loose ends on other unfinished projects. Planetary energies are also believed to affect us physically, and this particular combo is linked to our nervous system, lower back and adrenal glands. Make sure to take some extra care to those areas. We also have a trine between Mars and Neptune occurring at noon, and its one that brings an imaginative, mystical and compassionate aura to Mars’ usual aggressive, quick and direct energy. Some may feel inspired to act on faith, confront situations with compassion and just generally react a bit more gently to aggressive situations. A lot will depend on how impulsive out actions are and whether or not they are based on research and planning ahead.

Tuesday morning starts off with a Void of Course Moon that will shift into talkative Gemini by mid-morning. So the mental pace of things will start to pick up and it can be a somewhat difficult day because it may feel like our emotions are being shut out by all of that intellectual activity going on. Make sure you give yourself some quiet time to allow yourself and your emotional well-being a bit of support.

On Wednesday the Sun moves into Aquarius for the next 4 weeks and our brain kicks into higher gear as well. It will be important to look after our nervous system today due to the highly charged energy in play. Adding to this is a challenging square between Retrograde Mercury and Uranus, which means we need to expect the unexpected. We may find new information comes our way that blows what we thought to be true out of the water. This could result in a need to change our point of view or change our situation. This transit can bring about some breakthrough insights and understanding that allows us to finally get the message that the Universe has been sending us.

Thursday starts us off with a Void of Course Moon that moves into watery Cancer just after noon. Cancer brings that kind of energy with a sense of wanting to be enclosed, private, in familiar environs. We might reach for our favourite foods, or show love by baking or cooking. The trappings of home included aromas that are comforting. It all ends with cozying up in bed, maybe even being tucked in. We may also get lost in an imaginative project. We can add emotional depth and nuance to what we are working on. Whatever we do, it’s with more feeling.

Friday brings a conjunction between Mercury and Pluto that brings us deep insights and passionate communications. We just need to be careful of the temptation to speak a bit too forcefully that we intended in situations that require a bit of discretion and delicacy. It shines light in those dark corners, however what we see may be either illuminating or a bit disturbing. It will still end up being something that we can grow from.

Saturday begins the weekend with an early morning Void of Course Moon before it enters heart opening Leo in the evening, preparing for the Full Moon overnight. On Saturday evening the abundant and friendly planet of love will be moving into the more serious and structured sign of Capricorn. Where both relationships and resources are concerned, now is the time to look at our commitments and make some new plans. We need to consider what is working and what is not and then take steps to change things or balance them out a bit more.

In the wee hours of Sunday morning the Moon will enter it’s Full lunation. We have this Leo/Aquarius energy now, with the Moon more or less on its own on one side of the zodiac and all of the other planets over on the opposite side. This makes a kind of funnel, where all of the planetary energies are being funnelled down into our emotions (the Moon). So we will see drama queens and kings galore to one side and then some creative and warm-hearted leadership on the other end. The main key to this Full Moon is to keep our hearts open while also keeping a sense of cool detachment so you don’t get pulled into other people’s drama.

WEEK AHEAD – Monday, January 11th through Sunday, January 17th

  • Posted on January 10, 2016 at 7:25 am

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope the start of this new year has been a good one so far. We seem to have a lot of energies around endings and beginning that will be flowing through the first half of the year. Mercury is still retrograde at this time and we have a New Moon that started of in Capricorn and will move into Aquarius later this evening. This means the start of the week has a friendly vibe that support reaching out to new people as well as old friendships. Let’s have a look at what the rest of this weeks has in store for us.

Monday is a quiet one in the skies, with that same friendly and sociable Aquarius energy in play. As we move into Tuesday, we have a trine between Venus and Uranus that can make us feel like leaving work a bit early to see friends, or to just break away from our daily routine to inject a bit of the unknown and excitement. Venus is in Sagittarius, where it makes her want to party. Meanwhile, Uranus is in Aries drawing us to want to go somewhere different and new. The Moon will be Void of Course as the morning dawns and will move into Pisces late in the night. A Pisces Moon tends to open up our intuitive abilities, where we like to dream and tend to have compassion for animals and people.

Wednesday carries on that Aquarius Moon vibe, adding to the mix a trine between the Sun and Jupiter, which tends to favour doing something in a big way. With the Sun and Jupiter working together we are able to work in harmony with our environment radiating warmth and generosity to those around us. It is a time when our understanding of the great Big Picture clears and we start to understand just how we fit into it all. As a result of this, our self esteem and confidence soar. We start to see new possibilities and opportunities, to the point where we feel we have a bit of luck on our side.  It’s a really good energy for situations where we need to present an idea or project and need to get other people on board.

On Thursday we have a conjunction between the Sun and Mercury, where we tend to have a lot to say. We are compelled to communicate in all forms. Keep in mind the Mercury retrograde cycle though, because everything you hear now may not necessarily be true. There cold be a lot of gossip flying around or misunderstood meanings that get made into something they were not meant to be.

Friday morning brings the Moon into Aries, where we can get a bit restless. We want to take action without having to mess about with those little details. But those details are there for a reason and we could end up having to redo anything we rushed. Make sure you do something active as well today, to burn off that extra Aries energy. We also have Mercury trine Jupiter adding to that talkative mood. We are filled with more ideas and want to share these with others. It’s a really good time for stepping back in order to get a broader overview of projects we are working on, especially business related ones.

Our weekend is fairly mellow with quiet skies on Saturday and the Moon moving into homebody Taurus on Sunday morning. You may want to take it easy this weekend and enjoy those little comforts in life that make you feel secure and stable.

WEEK AHEAD – Monday, January 4th through Sunday, January 10th

  • Posted on January 3, 2016 at 7:00 am

Happy Sunday and Happy 2016 everyone! I’m sure we are all recovering from the last 2 festive weeks, some making those new year resolutions, other starting to get organized. I had planned to start my new year house cleaning but work and other factors kind of got in the way. But its definitely feeling like a year for change, and hopefully it will be for the better. Today we have both the Moon and Mars shifting into Scorpio. Mars in Scorpio brings the focus to power, deep emotions, sexuality, elimination, death and intense research. This means we need to be willing to plumb the vulnerable emotional depths of ourselves in order to determine what it is that we get in our own way. We also get to look at whether our values and actions are working together too. With the added Scorpio Moon energy, the next couple of days may feel a bit challenging on an emotional level. We do get a chance to get to the roots of any disturbances in our lives and oust them though. Let’s see what this first full week of 2016 has in store for us now.

Monday is a quiet one in the skies, so nothing to add to all of that Scorpio energy for the moment. Tuesday however is a different story. By noon, Mercury will be starting its retrograde cycle, where it will begin in Aquarius and then shift back into Capricorn by the weekend. What we can start to do for now is to look at any situations that allow us to create an environment that is beneficial for all involved. Aquarius energy is great for exploring any new friendships, organizations and groups. However, its best to wait until the 25th, when Mercury goes direct once more, to make any real commitments. Be careful when you are travelling on Tuesday as well. Retrograde Mercury will be making a challenging square with impatient Mars, so be on the lookout for road rage scenarios, as well as trying to force anything mechanical beyond their limits. If it doesn’t want to budge right now, leave it be. The early afternoon also brings a challenging square between Venus and Neptune. This means being on the lookout for deception and confusion in those areas that Venus rules; love, money, resources and pleasure. The Moon will be Void of Course in the early evening.

Wednesday starts off with the Moon moving into optimistic Sagittarius, giving our spirits a bit of a lift as it calls to us to have a wee bit of fun. We also have a conjunction between the Sun and Pluto, which is a brief but powerful transit. With it we gain this sense of determination that can be formidable and we won’t want to put up with any interference from others. This can bring about a battle of egos and arguments though, more so than usual. If we need to get something constructive done though, this is a great influence to tap into.

Thursday brings a challenging square between the Sun and Uranus, where we may experience some shake-ups as the Universe decides it time for some changes. This can be a big wake up call for many, and its designed to help shake us loose from those old cycles and habits that keep us stuck or inhibited in our lives. So be prepared for change and possible something interesting. Sometimes it takes such a crisis for us to realize the need for change. Our usual sense of self and purpose also become unsettled under this transit, but it’s also a time where room is cleared away for new growth and new possibilities. So if you are looking to break some old habits in your life or break away from current restrictions, this is the best time to do it! Just bear in mind that it could also create a bit of a mess that you will have to contend with later.

Friday starts off with a Void of Course Moon and Jupiter turning retrograde until early May. Jupiter is in Virgo right now so this is a great time to start working on any big projects but in a somewhat quieter way, perhaps behind the scenes planning and structuring. Once Jupiter turns direct again, those projects will be ready to be brought into the public. Mercury will be moving into Capricorn in the morning as well, bringing out a more focused and analytical side. But keep in mind that Mercury is still retrograde, so stick to the planning and fact finding for now. The Moon will be joining Mercury in Capricorn later in the afternoon. Also affecting the day is a sextile between the Sun and Chiron, a harmonious little aspect that allows the Sun to shed light on those wounds that are ready to be healed. Look at the chronic struggles you have had going on in your life. This transit can help you to find new inspiration, motivation, or the confidence to rejuvenate our waning enthusiasm.

Our weekend starts off with a conjunction between Venus and Saturn, both in risk taking Sagittarius, a combo that is better suited for business relationships than person ones. We have a blending of structure and responsibility here, with our desire for beauty, pleasure, and material abundance. We may find, under this transit, that we are attracted to people with maturity, worldly wisdom, and a solid sense of values (perhaps an advisor, elder, or teacher), and are disinclined to frivolous activities or wasting our time. Some may feel more inclined to have alone time right now. So if you need it, don’t fight it!

In the wee hours of Sunday morning the Moon enters its New lunation while still in Capricorn, but then then goes Void of Course in the late afternoon, and enters Aquarius in the late evening. So we have a mixed back for our New Moon. Again the focus is on planning ahead and creating structure. Something else that is tied in with this New Moon is energies coming from Pluto and the asteroid Pallas. This energy wants us to release anything that we no longer need in order to become more powerful, sweeping away anything that stands in the way of you and your connection to the great Source. Just make sure that your plans are down to earth now because, with all of this Capricorn energy, winging it just won’t cut it!
