Earth Spirit Tarot October 2014 Newsletter

  • Posted on September 30, 2014 at 3:56 pm

I publish a newsletter each month that can be viewed in its entirety at http://earthspirittarot.com/webnews.htm

Below is just a snippet of September’s newsletter. If you subscribe or go to my website you will have access to the astrology section, monthly raffle and a variety of other goodies!

Happy October all! We are now officially heading into Autumn and Winter. The nights draw closer, days seem shorter, and our focus is on harvesting all that we have worked so hard on this year. I love this time of year! We celebrate Halloween, or Samhain, which is the Pagan New Year this month. We also turn the clocks back one hour around this time too. UK’s Daylight Savings is on October 26th, the US’s is November 2nd and October 5th for Australia.

October is set to be a busy month with Mercury going retrograde at the start, lasting for most of this month. We have a couple of eclipses going on as well. But mainly the energy seems to be focused on reflection at this time. We have harvested what we planted in the spring and now look at what we have before us, what we can use for the future and what didn’t quite work out this time around.

Let’s see what tricks and treats I have for you this month!  I have our favourite Samhain New Year reading and the Trick or Treat reading. The Afterlife Communication reading is a good way to connect with our ancestors as the veil lifts this month. All of these can be found in the  Monthly Specialssection along with a few other inspirational readings to help bring balance into your life.  Also, check out the Tarot Readings page where you can find some great readings to help with that de-cluttering/purging process, like the Life Path or State of Transition readings.

In the Healing Room section you can find reiki and energy work to help give you a bit of a boost as well as assist in clearing out your energy. You can find Reiki sessions, Chakra Healing and Attunements, Violet Flame healing, and the Avalon Crown of Success healing. Reiki is great for flushing out the old energies that may be lingering both in our own energetic bodies and the environment around us.

Be sure you stop by my Astrology section where you can order some insightful Natal charts, Compatibility reports and Transit reports to see what will be affecting you in the months ahead.  Each persons Birth Chart can show how the positions of the planets and stars at the exact time of their birth can influence their life. Learn how each planetary position has determined your physical, personal, psychic and spiritual characteristics! These charts are a great gift for birthdays or just as a special way to treat someone to a bit of astrological insight.

I’m starting a new Blog that you can find at http://earthspirittarot.com/wp/ Its still being setup but I hope to be writing on a variety of topics from Tarot to general spirituality topics.

You can follow me on Facebook and keep up with the latest planetary transits: www.facebook.com/pages/Earth-Spirit-Tarot/202568966439

WEEK AHEAD – Monday, September 29th through Sunday, October 4th

  • Posted on September 28, 2014 at 10:32 am

Here we are at the last week of September. Autumn is in full swing here, with a riot of colours bursting from trees, the smell of wood smoke in the air, the weather getting cooler and the day light getting shorter. October brings a Mercury retrograde and two eclipses, making it a rather busy month for us. Let’s have a look at the last few days of September and the first few of October this week.

We have an optimistic Sagittarius Moon on Sunday evening that will be with us for the start of the work week. Monday brings Venus into one of her favourite signs, Libra, until October 23rd. Venus in Libra brings out the prince/princess charming in all of us. We are more inclined to use gentle persuasion rather than aggression and we want outcomes that will benefit both sides. This make the next few weeks a good time for bringing harmony into all kinds of relationships.

Tuesday is a quiet day with nothing more than an early morning Void of Course that lasts until early Wednesday morning. Many people feel emotionally set adrift during a Void of Course and it’s said that it’s best to not make major decisions at this time. On Wednesday the Moon moves into structured Capricorn where we tend to be more able to bring structure to situations that may have felt out of control. We feel more reserved and want to get our head down and get something accomplished now. Try to get as much as you can sorted before the weekend gets here!

Thursday is another quiet day with just an afternoon Void of Course Moon. Friday brings the Moon into Aquarius which makes the weekend a good time for doing new and unusual things. It’s a good time for energy work, networking and being social. But we also have that Mercury retrograde to contend with too.

Saturday start Mercury’s retrograde cycle in Scorpio, where our thoughts and communications are more probing and intense. Mercury in Scorpio instinctively knows that life simply isn’t fair. Mercury in Scorpio seeks truths in all that is hidden and undercover. We tend to probe, observe, and focus our thoughts under this influence. Looking for motivations–the more deeply buried the better–satisfies an intellectual need now. Our thoughts are profound. We throw away superficial manners of communicating in favour of deep conversations. Scorpio is extremely sharp, profound, and analytical. Thinking is inclined to be one-track minded, focused, and even obsessive. The Sun will also be in a challenging square with Pluto this weekend, where our desires seem to clash with our current circumstances and the demand of others. So calling upon our inner strength will be necessary for today. Mars is square Chiron at this time too and under this transit we tend to bottle up emotions and healing and just want to hide under the covers.

Sunday brings the Moon into mystical Pisces where we would rather spend the day dreaming. It’s a good day for taking it easy before we enter the work week. Mars will be trine Uranus on Sunday as well, where we become more willing to experiment and take risks. We tend to have a powerful drive for freedom and exploration. Just be careful of taking more risks than usual at this time.

WEEK AHEAD – Monday, September 22nd through Sunday, September 28th

  • Posted on September 21, 2014 at 10:57 am

We are drawing ever closer to the end of September and tomorrow brings the Autumn Equinox, that point when day and night are equal for the last time until we reach the Spring Equinox again. From this point on the days will grow shorter and the nights longer. It’s a time for celebrating the harvest and preparing for winter. Sunday may feel like a bit of an odd day for us because we have a Virgo Moon, which tends to focus on and support service work, simple and practical tasks. Then we have Neptune, which will be more potent this evening, that draws us into the realm of daydreams. What this does is pull us between wanting to get some work done and wanting to let our minds float. Try to do what you can early in the day and save Sunday evening for relaxing.

Monday is the Autumn Equinox and comes three days before a New Moon. Looking at charts for the next couple of months, we seem to have this energy of completion happening from this point onwards. Up till now we have been “separating the chaff from the wheat”, planting the seeds that will bring the next harvest. The Sun enters Libra now too which means that the tone for the next 30 days or so is focused on bringing balance into all sorts of relationship scenarios. The planet of transformation, Pluto, now stops in the sky as it goes direct in Capricorn, finally ending its retrograde cycle that began in mid-April. For a week before and week after we can feel intense energies that are transformative and compelling. For those who have been experiencing deep and cathartic changes over the past 6 months or so, this will now feel like a shift is occurring in how we approach the changes being made. It may feel like an open wound right now but as Pluto starts to move forward in the next couple of weeks, this will ease. We have Mars in a challenging square with Neptune as well which can have us feeling like we are spinning our wheels and going nowhere. Physical energy can be at a low so take care and try not to waste too much energy trying to force situations that don’t want to budge, or are not ready just yet.

Tuesday gives us a bit of a breather to sort ourselves out a bit. Also keep in mind that Mercury is in its Shadow now as it starts to get ready for its retrograde cycle at the start of October. Focus on things like communications, double checking your schedules and little details, check over your cars or other means of transportation, as well as any communications equipment. The idea is to nip issues in the bud to lessen the effects of Mercury retrograde.

Wednesday brings us the New Moon in balancing Libra. New Moons are a time for new beginnings and in Libra creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others’ approval is another.

Thursday brings a trine between Jupiter and Uranus which many see as a transit that is favourable for bringing good fortune our way and opportunities that benefit us. This means we need to be open to everything that comes our way and take opportunities when they arise. Pleasant surprises can brings us some welcome change in areas of our lives that have been feeling dull.

Friday brings us a Scorpio Moon which will set the tone for the weekend. This tends to bring emotions to the surface so be careful. We can use this to explore our emotions a bit more and it can be a time for healing as we destroy the roots of a disturbance in our life. We tend to be more drawn towards the darker side of ourselves too under this sign. Done wisely, we can get to the source of issues and create the seeds of new transformation to happen.

On Saturday, Mercury joins the Moon in Scorpio, the sign it will be in when it starts its retrograde cycle. This is a good energy for projects that involve research. Under this influence we don’t want quick answers and choose to dig deeper for the answers we seek. We do need to be careful though because Mercury in Scorpio can stoke a mistrusting mind, one that holds secrets and fears them at the same time. Communication becomes a means of control, rather than connection. However, seeing our fears doesn’t mean that we have to perpetuate them. The opportunities are ripe for discussing heretofore forbidden subjects, resulting in greater degrees of trust and intimacy.

Sunday brings us more optimistic Sagittarius Moon so take time and play today! When the Moon is in Sagittarius our focus turns from inner soul searching to exploring the world around us. This lunar mood is very adventurous, active and restless for exploration. We want to experience life first hand. We want to get out doors, see the sights, connect with nature, go places we haven’t been before.

WEEK AHEAD – Monday, September 15th through Sunday, September 21st

  • Posted on September 14, 2014 at 1:29 pm

We are halfway through September now ad things so far have been going fairly smoothly for the most part.  I have been talking to quite a few people though who have reported feeling odd or disconnected lately and we are thinking it may be down to the Super Moon influence that is still going on.  Under a Super Moon the tendency for moods to swing extremely from one side to the other is more likely.  Moods and emotions are more intensified as well.  So make sure you give yourself a little leeway during this time.  Now let’s see what this coming week has ahead for us all.

Sunday we have a Gemini Moon that can bring us some opportunities to be social for the next couple of days.  Mercury also enters its Shadow today in preparation for when it goes retrograde next month.  Monday is a quiet day for us, aside from these influences from Sunday.

On Tuesday we have an early morning Void of Course Moon before it moves into Cancer later in the afternoon.  We may feel like being homebodies for the next couple of days as our emotions focus on that need for peace.  Mercury will be in a conjunction with the North Lunar Node as well, where our ideas seem to be more in focus, especially those ideas that we share with others.  We may also notice or observe something new that grants us a new perspective, one that we will mull over and turn over in our minds for the next few months.

Wednesday brings an opposition between Venus and Chiron that can make us extra sensitive to the suffering, dilemmas and struggles of others.  It’s also a time when the areas of relationships and finances can go through a sort of healing crisis, a time when we have to endure an increase in our problems that will require extra tolerance, negotiation or compromise in order to keep things from falling apart totally.  For some it will be a time where a new level of acceptance is reached as they let go of the struggles that are not that important and choose to make the best of the ones which are.

Thursday is a quiet one aside from an evening Void of Course Moon.  The Moon will then move into Leo on Friday which gives us a weekend where we feel a desire to spend time in social settings and are able to open our hearts.

Saturday is a quiet one for us but Sunday will bring an early morning Void of Course Moon which will move into practical Virgo by the late afternoon.  Venus and Saturn come together as well on Sunday where we may find ourselves yearning for romance, fantasy and longings.  It makes the perfect time to ask yourself if there is a dream of yours, perhaps one you had to shelve for a while, that you can now take down, blow off the dust, and make it come true. With the Virgo Moon helping out, we may be able to find some practical ways to make these dreams a reality.

WEEK AHEAD – Monday, September 8th through Sunday, September 14th

  • Posted on September 7, 2014 at 11:29 am

Good afternoon all! So we made it through the first week of September. Last week was manic for me, and I am sure for many who have children and young adults going back to school or starting college. I’m hoping this next week will give me more time to play as the stars have promised. I guess it’s all about finding that balance though between work and play. Let’s see what’s in store for us for this coming week.

Sunday brings us a Void of Course Moon, so is a good time for those quiet little projects like housework, organizing your work area, or working on projects that have already been started. I tend to refer to this kind of energy as “painting the fence” – a rhythmic task that doesn’t require the brain to have to work too hard yet allows our thoughts to drift as we get something done.

Monday brings us a Pisces Full Moon that, depending on where you are in the world, will begin late in the evening or early Tuesday morning. It’s a harvest Moon as well, where we integrate all of the hard work of the harvest while honouring the blessings we have been given. This Full Moon is centred in our feelings and is also in line with Chiron, the Wounded Healer. It makes it a good time for healing our emotions or helping others to do so. This sensitive Pisces energy is also in an opposition to the more practical Virgo Sun now too. As a result, we may find ourselves struggling between what is in our hearts and what is in our head. It can have us feeling overwhelmed by our own insecurities, our obligations, and our faith in ourselves when we feel our workload is a bit too much. A lot of this is down to us creating ridiculously high standards for ourselves. But this Full Moon also brings a chance for some spiritual breakthroughs and creative inspiration that will help overcome obstacles. Remember, in spell and energy work a Full Moon is a time for releasing. We also have Mercury in a challenging aspect with transformative Pluto and explosive Uranus. So we may either come up with some brilliant solutions to our problems or drive ourselves crazy with limiting and obsessive thoughts.

Tuesday brings us a Void of Course at night and we still have those energies from Monday at play. This is a day where we need to be careful not to make rude comments. It’s all too easy to let things pop out of our mouths before our brain filter kicks in, resulting in us saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Wednesday brings the Moon into Aries. A lot of people find their sleep patterns disrupted with an Aries Moon and this may be down to extra energy and that “I want to do it now!” vibe we get with Aries. We also have a square aspect between Mercury and Pluto which tends to make us feel more suspicious and cautious. We tend to get a lot of mental stress and pressure here and really need to avoid reading too much between the lines. Also, watch out for dramatic outbursts and events, both personally and globally. Also in play is a dreamy Venus/Neptune transit which can enhance our dreams and make us want to hit that snooze button one more time. It is a tricky little transit because we tend to gloss things over or see what we want to see in our quest for happiness. This is a favourable influence for short trips, writing, teaching, studying, mailings, interviews, advertising and promotion, submitting applications and forms, and accurate observations.

Thursday brings an early morning Void of Course Moon and a sextile between the Sun and Saturn. This makes Thursday a good one for tying up those loose ends, especially those we aren’t really looking forward to. The commitments that we make under this transit have a better chance of lasting too. Use this day for focusing on practical matters.

Friday brings a more social energy and a Taurus Moon, where we feel more inclined to do those things that we find joy and comfort in. We are more inclined to relax, stop and smell the roses, and allow life to slow down a notch.

Saturday takes a more philosophical tone with Mars moving into Sagittarius. Mars in this sign can make us feel restless, especially when dealing with our mundane routines. For some, this can feel confining. We want adventure now! The Moon is also Void of Course so we need to avoid making any important purchases. Mercury will be opposite Uranus at this time which means we need to be flexible due to Uranus bringing the unexpected our way. Try to just go with the flow here.

Sunday brings the Moon into communicative Gemini and makes a great day for hanging out and sharing ideas, updating blogs, social media and experimenting with our own unique style. Mercury will be entering its shadow today as it gears up for its coming retrograde cycle. We also have a nice little trine between Venus and Pluto which enhances relationships by easing the usual strains and stresses. It’s a good day for renewing and deepening relationships.
